""""I have been looking on Google for the GLS share price but I can't see it anywhere, any idea what it is?""""
Pure brilliance, and recommended.
If you don't mind i will use this in the future.
Let's see the FACTS now!
Wolves, "it’s GLS that’s making money and propping up the group as a whole, so Dynamo and oligarch you’re just splitting hairs".
I have been looking on Google for the GLS share price but I can't see it anywhere, any idea what it is?
@ wolvesposty.
""""Ok Dynamo you want facts? I’ll give you some! Rmg is kept afloat by gls. FACT. Postal part is losing money FACT. 20 % of Posties and process in uk are taking the ****! FACT. Sick pay is through the roof! FACT. Cwu interested in themselves.FACT!!!!!! How many facts do want?""""
FFS stop moaning. You post so much BS it's bordering on unbelievable.
It wasn't so long ago that you were criticising virtually the whole office you work in. NOW IT'S DOWN TO 20%!!
Grow a pair of balls, become a manager and do something about it. You have all the tools at your disposal to verify the 20%.
Something else:
GLS is part of RMG
Letters are not losing money, parcels are. Not the fault of posties.
20% of posties are taking the p**s? Prove it! Show me the figures.
Sick pay is through the roof? Not in my office. 1 long term sick now, and that's it!
The CWU are interested in their members. That will also encompass non union members, regarding t's and c's.
These are facts. Not the biased BS you come out with as a **** poor manager.
So still no facts apart from postal part is losing money. GLS is part of RMG. Royal Mail will only be gone if GLS is given away for a silly price. Royal mail postal side has only made a loss due to profits being reinvested in technology, to make us more profitable in the future. If Royal Mail went bust the government is obliged to step in and re-nationalise Royal Mail. So up to now you have offered nothing to an investors forum , except your opinions on one office in the whole of Royal Mail , at a company that you have worked for a short time. You seem to have no knowledge of how businesses work , or how they negotiate with unions. You clearly hate unions , let's hope you never need the CWU if you have an accident on duty or a member of the public makes allegations against you. When you look at the mess that so many companies are in at the moment compared to Royal Mail , be glad you work for them and if not do your office a favour and leave cause you must be a right bundle of fun to work with .
Ok Dynamo you want facts? I’ll give you some! Rmg is kept afloat by gls. FACT. Postal part is losing money FACT. 20 % of Posties and process in uk are taking the ****! FACT. Sick pay is through the roof! FACT. Cwu interested in themselves.FACT!!!!!! How many facts do want?
Dynamo you’re splitting hairs. If gls was sold off then Royal Mail is gone
Not splitting hairs Wolves posty . I've given you facts. You haven't. As for GLS . They are part of us. So whether one part makes a profit and another doesn't is irrelevant. It's based on the company as a whole, just like every other company is. You buy and sell shares based on a company as a whole not on one division . So up to now all you have done is moan , with no facts to back up what you are moaning about. When people have told you what to do about your grievances you chose to ignore the advice because it doesn't fit your agenda.
200 thank you for the endorsement. And if the rest of you look at the figures it’s GLS that’s making money and propping up the group as a whole, so Dynamo and oligarch you’re just splitting hairs
I'm with wolves on this one. Quite a few of those isolating are back now but they have health problems so can only sit sorting letters but letters volumes are still reduced and letters is already over staffed so the sit chatting. Some supposedly have disabilities and so can have as much time off as they like and can't be gotten rid of so they are paid to do nothing.
Wolves posty , are you on the board at Royal Mail. We aren't losing 1 million a day . Its propaganda used when negotiations are taking place. We have heard it year after year and at the end of it we then declare a 300 million profit. You never answered my question. When did we last make a loss ? No problems in my office , the crap workers that deserve the sack . Get sacked . The union members let it happen, because they are crap workers. Management and union work well together. Like I've said before your in a **** office and in the wrong job because all you ever do is moan. If your not happy about your weak management then go to your area manager. It's simple.
Wolves, do you genuinely believe that RM are going to post a loss of £365m for the 2020/21 financial year?
If that were truly the case we can seriously expect that the business will go into administration sometime around Christmas.
You do make me laugh!
dynamo you know its almost impoossible to get sacked from royal mail!!!!! system is used and abused and hope it changes real soon....i feel sorry for the genuine but like i say the 20% i do not.... GOODNIGHT.....
dynamo i agree management is poor......reason being they too scared to take on the union.....
dynamo you quote"When did we last make a loss Wolves Posty. " where the fk have you been since royal mail declared we losing £1000,000 a day!!!! thats 1 million mate....£365 million a year propped up by gls.... behave ffs
When did we last make a loss Wolves Posty. Don't blame the 20% in your office, blame your poor management, that are getting paid big bucks for not doing there job properly. If they were they would have sacked a number of the 20% and the rest would have towed the line. It's not difficult and happens in most offices.
ispy have you ever heard of the 80/20 ??? i will tell you.... management spend 80% of time dealing with 20% or the workforce... so to be direct as you do not realise is thus.... 20% need directing or ass kicked... 80% do their job without prompting.... thats 4 in 5 to you... so then management is not needed so much so not big earners draining the company....equals a profitable company where all us bitter employees have a future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oligarch - I agree RM could achieve the job losses through natural wastage, I was just saying that CWU should have been accepting that there is a case for streamlining the workforce and should have been acting in the best interests of it's membership accordingly rather than just opposing all and any changes that result in a reduction in the workforce.
As for the virus hanging around and resulting in more work and more revenue for RM I agree, but it's shame the markets don't seem to share that opinion.
Mike1974, "instead should be negotiating for the best possible VR terms for those that are willing to go, that way there's a more efficient and profitable business with a secure long term future for the RM employees and CWU membership".
Why would RM pay out for VR to CWU represented grades when there is a natural wastage rate of around 7,000 OPG grades? Anyway, if this virus is going to hang around for a while surely RM will need more posties not less?
@ mike1974.
I'm not sure that "opposing the introduction of parcel automation" is anything to do with the CWU. The fact that it is going ahead tells me that.
The USO, while fully supported by the CWU, is OFCOMs territory.
You also need to look at recruitment.
Steamlining the business can take many forms. In my office we have not recruited for about a year. Despite people leaving, loans to management and carrying long term sick.
Oligarch, if the CWU continued with it's stance of opposing ALL and ANY job losses under any circumstances then they wouldn't have any RM membership at all because RM would eventually no longer exist as a viable company.
What the CWU should be (and hopefully now is) doing is recognising that there is scope for streamlining the business through both parcels automation and a reduction in the USO and instead should be negotiating for the best possible VR terms for those that are willing to go, that way there's a more efficient and profitable business with a secure long term future for the RM employees and CWU membership.
Instead they are (or at least were) banging on about what a ''vital public service'' the 6 day USO was and opposing the introduction of parcel automation all because they want to keep their membership numbers and income from subs as high as possible
Mike1974, "thus far they've had a stance of opposing all and any job losses simply because they want to keep their membership numbers".
You are correct. That is absolutely the position of the CWU because they are most definitely serving the interests of their membership (because without the CWU we would all be on minimum wage and 28 days leave) but it doesn't mean that they aren't willing to work with RM management as the statement from Stuart Simpson says.
The other alternative would be that joke of a union called CMA/UNITE.
I agree with Wolves, I think the CWU have adopted a very self serving attitude and aren't acting in the best interests of their membership, thus far they've had a stance of opposing all and any job losses simply because they want to keep their membership numbers and income from subs as high as possible.
Interesting article.

@ wolvesposty.
You really are a very angry and bitter person. All of this hate directed towards the CWU and its members.
Maybe RMG (your hero Rico Back) have dragged this out for 2 years.
After all, agreements were already in place.
Your posts smack of management desperation.
Any job losses on a meaningful scale will come with a hefty price tag. At around 50k a pop, RM will burn a lot of cash in the short to medium term. Perhaps that’s the reason that the divi is rumoured to be put on hiatus for the foreseeable future. Personally don’t see it being reinstated for at least the next 2-3 years and then at a much, much lower rate.
