Cwu will come back with job losses and claim victory.
wolves all good thanks just looking forward to more normality coming back to life, but does not appear it will be anytime soon. I certainly feel I need the patience of JOB here but I'm in no rush.
Sorry mate meant Jb typo
Oli please behave. The cwu have dragged this out for almost 2 yrs now. Only reason they’re at table now is because they cannot afford to lose any more members. Ask the bt members .
Job I’m very good mate and hope all’s well with you and yours
"I am pleased to say that we are now making real progress in many of these areas and we welcome the positive commitment and approach the CWU has shown that recognises the significant financial and operational challenges that our business faces. Both the CWU and Royal Mail teams have put a lot of work into rebuilding trust between us as we work through these discussions."
So in response to all the CWU bashing anti unionist shareholders and investors please note that the CWU are happy to engage with Royal Mail to achieve a positive outcome.
The problem with investors is that they are greedy and all too quick to lash out at all and sundry when they see their investment go bad. My message is "don't gamble what you can't afford to lose".
Remember, when the fun stops.....STOP!
wolvesposty hope you are doing well and thanks very much for sharing. Hopefully news fairly soon.
latest news posted today from ceo.............
I want to give you a brief update on how talks are progressing with the CWU.
We have been holding a series of meetings every week on all areas of the talks under discussion. As a reminder, we have structured our talks into a number of topics. These cover; discussing our overall financial position; short-term change activity and trials to help address the immediate operational and financial challenges; pay; a resolution to our dispute, operational change and the future strategy of the RMG. The meetings have been attended by the senior negotiating teams of both Royal Mail and the CWU, as well as by me and Terry Pullinger.
The initial focus of our discussions so far has covered immediate short-term changes we can make. This has taken a little longer than we envisaged in our Joint Statement. That said, I am pleased to say that we are now making real progress in many of these areas and we welcome the positive commitment and approach the CWU has shown that recognises the significant financial and operational challenges that our business faces. Both the CWU and Royal Mail teams have put a lot of work into rebuilding trust between us as we work through these discussions.
Of course, we’d like to reach agreement as soon as possible, but the talks are covering many complex issues and both Royal Mail and the CWU know that we need to get it right if we are to put together an agreement that secures the future.
I hope to be in a position to share progress as the talks continue.

ARSENAL17 totally agree in terms of the overall climate any pay rise or no redundancies should be seen as a major positive and as I have said I think the self funding formulas for future agreements is critical. I do think the vast majority do understand and get it and see how long term significant changes need to be made urgently.
JB anyone getting a pay deal in this climate must think they have won the lottery most people are taking a pay cut or losing there jobs !
Today was date for hopefully coming up with pay deal and new agreements. I would like to think we may at least get an interim update. It must be very difficult in the current climate. Lets hope we can move forward positively and those that want out the business can go ASAP. A couple of ex management colleagues have got their packages lined up/sorted. I do expect any savings from other schemes/agreements will be mutually beneficial or they just wont happen. Obviously difficult to gauge the traffic volumes based on a handful of posts on here but the 3 monthly updates will be useful. USO changes if any will take quite a while to flow through IMO. Until we get the next news not a lot has changed.
