Big trouble coming from a lot of disgruntled CWU members if they don't get that extra hour wolves...or, alternatively, perhaps get compensated for it. And the shorts know all of this of course.
If I'm honest most people n our office dont give a dam about getting the extra hour this year. If it came to a ballot about industrial action over it , a majority would vote against it.
Dynamofc I agree with you and I think the vast majority have accepted that the first hour that was given despite not all savings being met is all history. The 2nd hour for which the savings were not achieved ( despite some offices maybe disputing) will IMO be rolled into the new SWW/productivity future agreements and I expect that whatever DW/TP accept/agree/propose with the business will be overwhelmingly accepted by the membership.
Dynamo, the SWW is worth 2.63% so if it is off the table for this round of pay negotiations then I would guess that a pay increase of less than 2.6% is in the offing.
Personally, I would take a one hour reduction over a 2.6% increase but I guess that it's all down to personal circumstances.
If they can't afford the sww I would take an extra weeks leave just this once.
If they can't afford the sww I would take an extra weeks leave just this once.
200 with that attitude in today’s world I would give you 52 weeks leave every year unpaid
The sww was seen to be self funded through productivity was it not? I ain’t seen anything only let’s get done on time fk the mail etc and I’m ok jack by a fair amount of posties. Some 20% had the sww anyway by self isolatng while on full pay and nowt wrong. Plus £200 bonus thrown in. Amazing do you not think?
Royal Mail!!!!!!! What a ****e company!!!!!!!
I’m going to go against the grain and say I don’t expect much of a deal with the CWU that benefits either the business or shareholders, whatever happens it will be mega expensive. Williams honeymoon period will be over shortly as far as the union are concerned.
Wolves, "Some 20% had the sww anyway by self isolatng while on full pay and nowt wrong. Plus £200 bonus thrown in".
I think that your managers must have been following their own procedurs? I was under the impression that you had to have received a positive Covid-19 test before you could book sick leave on full pay to self isolate for 14 days, or have received a letter from the government stating that you had to "shield" for 13 weeks because of an underlying condition.
If you wanted to "self isolate" because you didn't want to mix with others then that was an available option but it was unpaid leave.
Oli no it wasn’t and Royal Mail couldn’t force you to have test. Self isolation was paid full sick pay-and I never mentioned shielding as that’s a different matter
Cold 19 was added to absence but not added to any other sick leave so therefore a free holiday
And Lao oligarch there wasn’t any testing until may at the earliest
Wolves, "Royal Mail couldn’t force you to have test. Self isolation was paid full sick pay".
If that was true and you could have taken 14 days gratis by saying that you had coronavirus symptoms with no questions asked then I'm surprised that only 20% of the workforce took up the offer.
This was certainly not the case in my office.
Wolves, regardless of the illness you can go sick without a fit note for up to 7 days anyway. That's not just Royal Mail.
I really don't know why you have such a downer on your work colleagues? Perhaps you would be better off working for Parcelforce as an "owner driver". I hear that the terms and pay are good and they have some great reviews.
Alternatively there's DPD.
Currently DPD drivers earn on average £22,000 a year, according to data from jobs website Indeed. But, the new self-employed worker contract is designed to give drivers earnings of £28,800 a year, based on working five days a week, along with 28 annual days' holiday, a pension and sick pay.
I've come to the conclusion Wolves Posty is just a wind up merchant or Wolverhampton Do isn't part of Royal Mail because they have different rules to everyone else. Why would anyone work for a company that they think is white, and moan about it day after day. Loads of other delivery jobs or shop jobs out there, for you own good , apply for them, unless of course you already do .
That should have said ****e not white.
Agree Mr Nation .
Someone needs some serious therapy.
Dynamo, I'm not sure what information you were given on the coronavirus sick policy but it certainly wasn't what Wolves has been posting. We were told that if you display any of the symptoms then go home on sick and phone NHS111 for advice. Workers over 70 and those with government letters were given the opportunity to shield in line with the government policy. Managers were told to work from home where applicable and all business travel was banned.
My office had very little coronavirus sick (on top of normal sick) absence. Obviously as RM are a large employer there will always be a very small percentage of employees who abuse the system but as RM employ a cross section of society then that's to be expected.
I'm sure that we would all have jumped at the chance of two weeks extra holiday if it was that easy.
I suspect that Wolves would object to the furlough scheme as well because people are getting paid to stay at home!
oli perhaps i have hit a few raw nerves .........look all i stated was facts.... i am happy with job and do not want or need to go anywhere....but i have come to the conclusion that some sectors/workers for royal mail just want want want.... take take take and do as little as possible to achieve it.....as an employee i want the company to grow and suceed and then rewarded....sorry but the hard facts are the company and the share price will stay where it is until addressed... now some say cant beat them then join them.....not my hard working mentality mate!!!!!! wind up over
one more oli you mention the furlough scheme...... yeah great when brought in by the govt.... but look how many has took the p**s out of that scheme!!!!!! country on knees with many refusing to go back to work teachers for one.....
Oli , our office and information exactly the same as yours. We have one person off now UNPAID and another on furlough. We lost very few in the 1st place , one tried to pull a fast one and isolated. Then she thought she had it a month later. Isolated again on no pay.
Work still very busy with some houses having 6 or 7 parcels a day instead of 1. Share scheme buying Monday , so should increase again.
Wolfe, are you really an OPG?
Paid furlough wasn’t that good, remember you needed to ensure that any unused leave from previous years was burnt off and 2 weeks leave from this year was taken. You also needed to provide evidence that either you were vulnerable or someone living in your house was. You couldn’t just rock up and tell the DOM you were going on furlough!!!! Royal Mails furlough scheme had different rules and criteria to the governments one.
Regarding teachers it’s only right and proper that processes are put in place to protect both the students and the teachers, what’s the problem? Scotland has managed to put in measures and every single school is now back and working.
Stop reading the Sun and Express mate and don’t believe all the hype, it’s definitely not good for your blood pressure at your age!!!!
OK, so you see it every day people taking the mick. But that's not a royal mail thing I promise you that it's a society thing just look around you, if you let it get to you it just makes you a bitter and twisted person, which I'm sure you're not.
