Cwu have agreed to a meeting with RM on Thursday TP doesn't sound too positive about it though .
On the contrary they are joining like never before they have had enough
On the contrary they are joining in droves
Very poor comparison i am afraid
More members than ever in my office! We’ve gone from less than 50% to 100% in just 2 years. Not a militant office, never has been. It’s run on goodwill and the hard work of its staff. They accept change, like they have always done. They just do not trust the management team locally.
They are seen as bean counters that spend the day looking at spreadsheets and don’t know the reality of the job on the ground! In 3 years we have gone through 6 Ops Managers and 3 DOMs!
How can you build a team and plan for the future when you’re faced with that??
Yeah spot same as in my patch we have offices which had quite poor union density. They are now fully unionised and sick to death of everything thats going on and they are from militant.
They are bringing graduates in that have never done a job.But it looks easy on PAPER!!
We have seen several graduates come and go over the last 18 months but only one has stayed and she is very good. The rest were young men who didn't really seem that interested so presumably were just after some work experience for their CV.
Fruitster, I don't know much about student loans but I thought that they only started paying the loan back once their income reached a certain level? Does it really cost £100k? crikey :-(
Our office is up for this fight more then ever before, we don’t mind change if it’s in the interest of all concerned but unfortunately this style of management is what ruins company’s while stripping all its assets and cash then running on to there next job and leaves the workforce to pick up the pieces if there is anything left of it!!
Or and since our office closed as a mail centre 6 yrs ago my collection function is onto its 17th manager yes that’s 17!!
Fruitster, I get why you would put the comment "Why not join another company if things are not good?" but then you are not a RM employee so I wouldn't expect you to understand. Working for RM is quite an institutional experience that has a strange unifying effect on it's employees.
My step father doesn't get it either (he ran a successful central heating company) but my dad gets it (he spent 25 years in the armed forces).
I can't really explain how it works but it is a force that either takes you or it doesn't.
Has become the blandest and tediest share share to follow. The trajectory has been similar to Fastjet's.
"entire frontline workforce singing the dambusters theme tune you get it. in another of my units it used to be old Macdonald has a farm with each of three aisles being either pigs, chickens or cows."
Sounds like hell for anyone with a mental age above 10 !
Bet you loved it Del !
