Are there any watchers out there who could summerise what this announcement means in terms of number of redundancies and disposal of assets?

Wouldn't mind buying a few myself. But we are in a bear market unfortunately.
HArwood just bought around 3% of the shares... interesting, think they see it as a bargain
Still quite heavy selling going on, moderately speaking

There has to be an RNS to say what is going on with that drop tonight or tomorrow, looks like something horrible has happened and has to be announced.

Wow, I am surprised at the huge swing down with so very little volume.
Yes. Shocking that a stock with a full LSE listing is allowed to move in this way. No visibility to understand such violent swings, little reported volume, no word from management, no purchases from management… really shoddy :(
Wow huge drop all oc a sudden. 29 to buy
Chief Executive Officer, Neil Martin, was paid £628k by RM last year, yet he has not made a single share purchase in the business since the stock plummeted last month. Given the absolute farce going on, the least he could do is put some of that money where his mouth is. IMO

Not only that but client headwinds filtering down to company, but as a medium to long term this should be good. How long depends on market outlook across sectors.
the cutting of divi and large bank debt has caused this, its a company in transition and a year from now this will look like the bargain of the year
MM's dropped this 30% before the 1st trade ..
bit of an opportinity here, well over done drop, had a small punt
and 7% down ffs

it will be interesting to see to what extend employees sell their shares now they are free to (even though in two years' time) it will be free of cgt and ni. My guess is they will be as wise as any investor..

RNS - Schroders have increased their holdings today to over 21%, another 500,000 shares. Could do with it being reflected in the share price. Regards CM

I have spent some time this evening trying to work out why the share price is so weak right now. I have read through, as best I can, the last set of results. There are a few uncertainties within it if you look through it. I wonder how much the share price may be being affected by the uncertainty of the upcoming general election and any perceived spending cuts?. The last few years has seen a trading update during the last week of March or near to it. Hopefully we will get an update this year which will give a clearer picture as to how things are going/have gone. With some luck by then the share price will be North of where it is now. I review what I will do with my holdings at that time and decide what to do, unless something drastic happens in the meantime!. An encouraging aspect is that Schroders increased their holding to just over 20% in early February. I would sincerely hope that they would not be increasing their holdings unless they were confident of the companys prospects. OS - thanks for your post. Tangible Net Worth............not a lot wiser. How is that worked out please anyone?, and what exactly does it mean?. Regards CM

I assume it is tangible net worth - heavily negative in RM.'s csae, but that didn't put me off investing recently.
Hurrah!, I'm not on my own!, there is life out there, someone has found me, yo!. Hello Libero, thanks for joining me. Thanks for your post. Just one question...........what is TNW?, can't think what it is right now. Usually I can't make head nor tail of share price movement here, no logic at all. Regards CM

RM. is doing well. Profit margins are up. Profits up 67% to £15.8m. PE ratio is now 10.6 - Great EV/EBIT ratio is now 9.9 (from my calculations) - Great TNW is 6% (which is pretty poor tbh) Cash generative business Outlook for next year is strong So, all in all, the only fly in the ointment is TNW for what is a company that otherwise looks very strong. Buy

Blatant manipulation imo of the share price over the last week. Today we have a RNS stating an institutional investor has upped their share holding on 6 February (Friday) when (co-incidently or otherwise!) the share price had fallen right back over the week. Perhaps it is my cynical mind but could it possibly be that the market makers were well aware of their interest and deliberately shook the tree until enough shares were available for the ii to buy at the price they wanted?. Who wins?, the ii, the market makers, possibly (just) any private investor who got lucky or had good judgement (perhaps). Who loses?, the private investors who were shaken out of the market by fear and/or setting what would have appeared to have been a safe stop loss (fully understandable). An illiquid share, with not many shares traded most days, hence the shake over the week. I was not in a position to make any trades late in the week so I stayed put. With more important and pressing family matters on my mind, the last thing I needed was some manipulation going on in the background. But guess that goes with investing in the stock market. Too many decent hard working private investors lose hard earned money by these actions. Although we know the risks, it seems we only know what or whose rules we are playing to when they care to let us know. Rant over. Good luck to all and regards CM May be talking to myself, but nevermind.

Very disappointing day. Yet another day not knowing what was going to happen until the bell went. I had hoped this would stay at or above 150p. I have tried to read through yesterdays RNS but there was so much to it that I couldn't understand it all by a long shot. Rather disappointingly I could see no outlook statement, one of the first things I look for; not sure what to make of that. This had been going reasonably well, but now, I'm not so sure. Perhaps it will settle down now, but it has dropped below the lower Bollinger Band. Not sure where the support level is. Is todays (late) fall a delayed reaction to the RNS. Numis seem confident with their increased target price, wish more were. Anybody else out there to give an opinion?. Good luck and regards CM

Results pretty much as expected so not too surprised at the reception given. Just another ordinary/usual day for RM. A little disappointed that it closed the day down. Increase in divi is a bonus I guess and broker Numis have raised their target price to 200p, for whatever use that is. Regards CM

RNS tomorrow morning re. final results. If the results are as suggested in their interims issued in September then it could be/should be a positive day. However, nothing is guaranteed with investing and if the results are good but not as good as the market is anticipating then who knows where RM will finish come day end. What is more, some of the shine could be taken off by the bad day on Friday with the Dow Jones, which tends to have a knock effect to this side of the pond. Never know with RM what will happen, the share price seems to be up and down like a yoyo with no obvious pattern. Good luck all and regards CM

As usual, an uncrossing trade after the market has closed has given a closing share price below the bid. It can also work the other way too. Do not take too much notice of the UT, it means little. Also, with RM. the closing share price is often given as the bid or the offer price rather than the mid price. Difficult to know with RM quite where we are. I would not be surprised if tomorrow this is showing at least 1.25p up. What is more important is what the update will say next Monday. Regards CM

This share remains volatile on relatively small volume. Most of yesterday the share price given on here was above the bid /offer and again today. Difficult to say quite how it will close any day with sudden late movements not uncommon. Can't see any reason why this should have fallen back by 9p today. Next set of results should be out towards the begining of February. Although revenue is likely to be down on the same period last year, pre tax profit is likely to be up I believe. Not sure what to make of this share. Now down to below what I bought in at in November (I think) but it has happened before and risen again ie fell from 27 November - 9 December before climbing again - perhaps this will be similar. good luck all regards CM

i bought in originally after researching this as one of your tips, I managed to trade it rather luckily before the drop to 120 and bought back in on the great trading update. Prefer these quieter rising shares without a doubt. Are u in ?

Hello Shan, good to see you hear on what is a very quiet board, hurrah!. RM sees little volume most days and some very peculiar very low trades. Price seems quite volatile with a rather large spread at times. Never sure until day end quite how this will finish. Going a little better than LFC at present, which isn't difficult!. Have a good Christmas all Regards CM
Been a while since I checked into rm. Definately one of my fave companies...interim management statement was excellent: Trading Update RM plc ("RM"), the educational IT and resources group, is today issuing its Interim Management Statement for the period from 1 June to 17 September 2014. Trading in the third quarter of RM's 2014 financial year has progressed ahead of expectations. The repositioning of the Education Technology division continues to proceed satisfactorily with costs running below plan. Lower costs than expected have also been incurred at the end of some long term managed service contracts. Profitability of the personal computing devices business, which is being wound down, has continued ahead of plan. Within the Education Resources division, good revenue growth and margin performance in TTS has continued ahead of expectations over recent months. The Assessment and Data Services division (trading as RM Results) continues to trade in line with growth expectations. As a consequence, RM now expects a significantly more profitable second half than was anticipated at the time of the announcement of the half year results. Net cash at 31 August 2014 was £28.2m, compared with £38.3m a year earlier. This is after payment of the £14.7m special dividend in March and an additional £8m payment into the pension related escrow account in the first half. Results in February should be interesting!!!
A couple of massive trades earlier today. Hopefully that reflects confidence by those in a knowing position have in the share. Regards CM

I guess the lack of volume for this share adds to its volatility. Does ANYONE know or have an idea what the very low trades may mean?. Does it have any meaning?. Hard to believe anyone will buy or sell so few shares. Additionally they seem to be A trades. Same pattern as just before the share went up. Regards CM
