Berkshire Hathaway is finally pulling the trigger.
The conglomerate is spending $4 billion to buy the natural gas transmission and storage assets of Dominion Energy. Including the assumption of debt, the deal totals almost $10 billion. It’s the first major purchase from Berkshire since the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent market collapse in March

Not a chance of Shell merging with one of the other big boys,....I wouldnt waste your time on it.... in my opinion
see what any US / UK trade deal looks like ....as a starter
“Eat Shell alive”....In which way.'' They drive a very hard bargain, I could not imagine any merger with Exxon that they would not come out as the winner. All in my humble opinion.Of course I am anti American business wise.Any British company that deals with the Yanks usually gets their fingers burnt.See how BP. was treated by Obama.
“Eat Shell alive”....In which way.
BP, Don't go near the yanks they are rapacious b#####ds.I worked for Exxon for 28 years they would eat Shell alive.
So who would be our best dance partner:
BP
Exxon
Chevron
Eni.
Or a few toddlers....?
Hi, I use to own shell intermittently about 15 years back & it was a regular occurrence for the rumour of BP & shell to merge. Don't think it was ever more than a rumour. But now with the ongoing oil demise of many companies it could well come to pass that oil companies will see benefits in merging. Think after back crisis where alliance & Leicester , Bradford & bingley, Cheltenham & Gloucester, northern rock etc etc were go bbled up by bigger firms for their assets.
Just wondered if RDBS might ever think of taking over some one like PMO, Tullow, GKP, Cairn etc where they have lots of oil ready to produce...
Or
Any chance they might ultimately do a multi billion dollar merger with another big fish such as BP or Chevron?
