Ha ha Robina, isn't that always the case, so very true!
Dont bother, there are much better undervalued solid co's out there, which pay a much better dividend too. KLR and MGNS come to mind imho of course !!!
It seems to me that almost everything is being steadily derated.
Would consider this a buy at around £4 maybe.
Of course if I wait it won't get there. If I buy now it will. That's a dead cert on everything. Funny that.
I have to admit i am getting sick and tired of RCDO's share performance which is abysmal, considering the co just came up with what i and many of us investors in RCDO thought were really good results.
If i could get to my break even point any time soon , i would be most happy to get rid of them and close this very unprofitable investment !!!
Despite the results afrc's prediction of revisiting £4 is looking prophetic
Totally agree , finally a very good set of results which should push the sp back to the £5 level provided we dont have terrible economic and market news.
The volume was much better too yesterday but today not much activity which is disappointing in itself.
This for me is one of the main problems with this share, there is never much volume traded which means not many retail investors are interested in the share !!!
Terrific results. No mention of slowdown here. Should result in a re rating. I'm a long term holder but was would have dumped if weak today. Not selling now
Hi afrc
I think we could be heading for a periodic of very negative sentiment as you say. I notice that at PMs questions the new PM (shudder) said no more windfall taxes for energy , but despite that BP and Shell both then shed 2%. That doesn't inspire confidence with me, and I agree that my sales are because I fear a path down to £4
I cant blame you , i was hoping the sp would keep the momentum going , taking it to the £5 mark but now i fear with more bad news on the way, we may be looking at £4 . Really depends on how the markets react to the new PM 's economic measures , but the reality is that whatever measures are taken , we are going to see a major downturn to the economy.
Might prove to be an expensive mistake but as of yesterday I'm out, decided the SP rally has stalled
if this was an AIM share there would be about 400 posts a day after this sudden rise. We about 4 a week!
@ johnpwh you are right as looking to every transaction it seems that the increase has stalled quite few sales today and the reason I think is given the CF the far value is about 5/5.5 . if it would be a long term investor that it the SP will stay here for time time or decline a bit. if it is an offer or activist investor may go up but not too much unless fundamental changes in circumstances....
I am in a bit dilemma to sell another slot as the bid increase stalled.
Yes papucel. Must admit that despite what I said I did sell some more this morning. As you say we've seen these patterns before
@johnpwh , I have seen how SP reacts to rumours +10-15% in seconds then drop again. This move is s steady that it seems to be either a buy offer or VC active investor to turn it around - IMO
I exited a slot and I wander if I should get back in
Looking at the trades today it appears that if someone is building a stake they are doing so very, very slowly!
Is there anything to this other than rumour or the fabled Market Makers tricks?
Ok I hold my hands up. I sold some just before close yesterday. Having seen the retrace form the mid to high 400s to 340p previously on no news I'm not prepared to see it happen again. Will run the rest. This could be a bubble based on RPS, and a bubble based on relatively few share trades per day.
But what do I know, I've been fiddling around with shares since before Mrs Thatch and 'if you see Sid tell him'. And I still know sod all
@johnpwh , idled it could be a false flag as well therefore I sold the first slot I saw quite few co even when they received an offer below the fair value they raised and collapsed the day after so I had to be prepared both ways
Of course there is an option to hold long for very long but I didn't sell RCDO when it was 5.20 and it collapsed to 3.35. Sometimes the markets are irrational and look only for cash flows rather than fundamentals.
@Archy147 , indeed a option would be to do nothing for another year or so - everyone should have its own risk appetite
GLA
Well done Archy. Pleased for you
Same as kerching, I'm patiently waiting for pre-covid price of £7.80 before I'll consider selling here.
John, I cashed in my RPS shares at the start of this week. Happy days. RCDO now top of my list of companies most likely to receive a takeover bid. That could easily lead us to £10+ .
5.5 no where near enough for me £8 pre pandemic, been in a while, quality company happy to hold for long term. GLA
Just searched and RPS acquired by WSP. I'm making a big point about it, just noticed it in the news

Funnily papucel I saw a story the other day about a design engineering company, founded on 1970, which had just been taken out by a bid. Cant remember the name. Made me think of my Ricardo shares - and almost immediately they started to rocket. Whether others are buying having seen the same story I don't know. All I can say is that I am not complaining!
johnpwh I exited stupidly one slot as I had bad experience with dumping. I should have looked the the buys are quite large
My assumption is that someone is building a position to take it over which I was hopped for long. However the calculated fair value is 5.5 so I am not sure if any offer will be above that. However if it is an activist investor it will push for a better management and then it will get higher than that.
Lest hope for the best as it drove me crazy when it went to 3.45

Whatever was going on Wednesday papucel, it seems to be still doing so.
Trouts thanks for the answer. RCDO trading volume both amounts and no of transactions indeed exceeded the average for abut a week now; first few days was steady, in the last it increased exponentially many transactions of 10-17K
Lets see if it is an activist investor or a take over offer - Any thoughts?
