Surely the patent is on the method of production.
Fruitflow Plus Facebook and Twitter page so yes it would have been Provexis although I am unsure who is doing the social media for us atm.
Hi Gixer - It's Sock here. The Facebook link in your last message, who would have posted it? Is it Provexis who would have written it? Thanks
I am by no way saying there is a connection but....

Just for the sake of conjecture, I wonder what the legal position would be if BY-Health decided to do the studies and trials in China. I am presuming here that Provexis already own the IP/patents on the various "supplements" properties of FF. However, if BY-Health crossed the IP over into "mainstream medicines", would the IP transfer to them.
It's this weird site ws, sometimes you just can't find recent posts - most confusing! Wish they would sort it out.
I'm not sure the fast-tracking of vaccines in a pandemic is going to help us get over the many, many hurdles that would lie between FF and a pharma application. There is a government-backed route to funding (AGILE), but since neither PXS or DSM has applied for funding to progress a claim I guess they don't think it would fly.
The main issue for me is the huge cost of any trials required to upgrade from food supplement to medication claims. I can't see DSM stumping up for it as it's not their area, so where would the money come from? Even a P1 trial would involve commitment of several £m and that's just the start.
Supplements have been prescribed by GP's for years. I worked in GP land in the 90's & we were doing it then (mostly GF breads etc.).
Completely agree with you re the potential here, clearly not reflected in the current SP. It won't move, though, without significant increases in sales volume and/or news from BYHEALTH, both of which are eagerly awaited. K
Dunno what happened there, waited an hour to see if first draft would eventually appear .......
Krusty
Not so massive imho. The world has moved on, look how quickly the vaccines were developed and approved, if there is a need for it, things can be fast tracked
Going back to the Prof’s presentation, from 1:31 onwards it does suggest we are going the medical route. We shall know by the AGM how far along FF has been progressed (if at all). As is the case the issue has been how to get FF to those who need it the most. For example, at £15 a pop I don’t see those who could benefit the most from its impact on the effects of air pollution would ever take it.

Supplements can be prescribed by GPs etc. they just need the justification to do so……
Regardless of what happens in the near term, the potential is there and should be captured in the IP value.
Looking forward to the next update, we are getting closer to boom or bust time.
W-WTFDIK-S
Krusty
- massive jump, not so sure.
Viewing the prof's presentation again, particularly after 1:31, it does strongly suggest we are going the medical route. Whether already started or the prof's paper shall be the justification to start, we'll know by the AGM. To be any use for CV the studies etc. would have to be fast -tracked, in a similar fashion the vaccines were.
However, like all things FF, the issue has always been getting it to the people who would most benefit as, take pollution for example, I do not see FF at £15 a shot will ever help those would benefit the most from it.

Supplements etc. can be prescribed now by GPs etc. From personal experience GP's are very aware of FF, never heard of it being prescribed though.
Like all of us, not holding my breath, but as future potential is does add value to the IP
W?
I can't see it rpg7, as interesting as it could be. It's a massive jump from dietary supplements to medical application. Having said that, if any of the Chinese research comes to fruition, it's much more likely one of the big pharma players would be interested in partnering with PXS/DSM to take something forward.
Posted the article to indicate the market potential, Fruitflow being an over the counter supplement would not qualify. Roll on clinical trials ----or maybe not.
Tells you everything you need to know, right at the top of the document:
"Industry
Pharmaceutical products - 33600000
Various medicinal products - 33690000"
Absolutely agree alf, no way can our dietary supplement meet the criteria for supplying the NHS with anticoags, however good we might think it is. This is strictly warfarin territory IMHO.
Wouldn't get too excited about that one, absolutely no chance of any bid to supply a non drug dietary supplement for that use IMHO
Rpg7
Where did you see that published?
rpg,
So could PXS/DSM bid for supplying Fruitflow?
NHS Framework Agreement for the supply of Direct Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs) for the NHS in England.
Open opportunity -This means that the contract is currently active, and the buying department is looking for potential suppliers to fulfil the contract.

Dr_H, I believe that was more to do with the commercial terms of the Alliance Agreement rather than extending it. Remember "The Company's Alliance Agreement with DSM Nutritional Products for Fruitflow® includes a financial model which is based upon the division of profits between the two partners on an agreed basis, linked to certain revenue targets, following the deduction of the cost of goods and a fixed level of overhead from sales."
The the fixed level of overheads from sales was reduced at the time.

Ah ok. Shame, maybe see you at the AGM
Kiev
just a flyby, picked the old man up and took him back to us. Too much CV still about for him
WS
Just realized it's around the time you were coming to Strou. Are you still coming
Hi Gixer, thanks for the info. And yes would love to be a fly on the wall for that meeting/s. When/if bi-health get blue cap status by then we will certainly have the upper hand. I got to agree with CB DSM have been useless but we have to thank them for the powder format.
