Indiscipline,
I totally agree about name change - if that is the biggest worry, then we should be flying high, like an osprey. Which, I actually believe PRD is (I don't like saying "we" because this is PG's plane and the likes of me merely (willing - and enthusiastic - passengers).
I have before suggested that we change the "oil and gas" appurtenance to something more reflective of what PRD is (Predator Transition Energies, whatever - you get the gist).
But, as to Predator itself, I am inclined to believe that keeping the name is a) what PG wants (so any further discussion on that front is probably pointless - he must do what he wants to do and he is doing pretty damn well) and b) can be positioned as a positive - any change of that name could easily be spun to the negative.
Right now, I think any change of name would be mere frippery and distracting from the mission objective - though, I would suggest, changing the "oil and gas" after Predator to something more helpful would take a half-decent IR firm a day or so to sort out and would not require much board attention (name change resolution).
The gyrations of the share price notwithstanding (all, in my view, irrelevant in the context of VALUE), I think the company appears to be cracking on very well indeed.
So, happy to be a passenger on the ship and well done the leadership team.
If our only concern is the name of the company then we have no concerns...
We could name it Poppies,
Roses ,
Daffodils
Cant get more green than that. Our logo a little lamb gambolling in a field.
Personally I like a Golden Eagle flying across a Scottish lake, talons outstretched to partake a wild salmon. A Predator and endangered specie encompassing all sides of wokedom and predatory capitalism.
The world in perfect harmony there.
Cheers guys....
it's starting to feel like Christmas is coming and I'm 5 years old old again :-)
p23 of the Annual Report shows the route(s) for mobilising the rig to Guercif - the quickest is 4h1min (330km). So, theoretically, if they can get the rig up within the 4hrs as per the video, then it's less than a day's job to transfer from the SDX site and get the rig set up at MOU-1 (though not sure if there may be additional time required for rig safety checks at the MOU-1 site etc until drilling actually starts?)
MK111 about 4.5-5 hours drive. Maybe a bit longer with a big rig. If it is already been taken down at last drill then should be onsite this afternoon. Then back up and spud Thursday afternoon or Friday morning….
Sure we’ll have an rns to confirm before the weekend.
Not sure of the time and distance between the SDX drill site and MOU-1 but I remember a video on PRD website on how it can take as little as 4 hours for Star Valley to set up the a rig once on site.
Exciting times ahead.
Basically it's in the process of being decommissioned of its current role and being moved to our drilling platform..
A bit like a showground ride
Can I ask what 'Rig mobilisation' actually refers to? Is it just the set-up on the PRD pad or does it include the movement from SDX site to PRD site?
Helps with understanding the possible timescale for the next RNS. Thanks
GRH, excellent - and I think very apt - joke about RP... gave me a good chuckle!
PG is clearly the 'face' of Predator but I suspect that, although he keeps a lower profile, Ron is as equally impressive as PG and they clearly make an excellent team. From his bio on the PRD website, it suggests to me that it's likely that it was RP's experience and industry connections in LNG that have allowed PRD to make such good progress in ROI, and now also with an option to do similarly in Morocco. I realise you've previously met up with Paul but I just wondered if you'd ever met with RP, and wondered how you found him? Thanks in advance for any insight you might be able to give.
As to the company name, I suspect it’s well down PG’s list of priorities but I am starting to feel there may be some merit in distancing ourselves from the ‘old world’ O&G industry and emphasising our forward-looking green energy transition credentials. I realise this isn’t a ‘sexy’ name, but wouldn’t something simple like “PRD Energy” or “PRD Transition Energy” do the job nicely? We’ll all know that it’s still ‘Predator’ (though the touchy-feely brigade will be less offended by the company dropping what might be considered a slightly ‘aggressive’ name?), we can keep the PRD ticker so no faffing around on that front, but it would serve to emphasise our key role in energy transition. As I say, I realise it’s not a particularly exciting / sexy name change but would, IMO, help us to tick a few ‘green’ boxes.
Morning
Obviously...the rig now being under contract to PRD is excellent news
Excellent re PG et al doing exactly what they said they would do ...
(BTW. is Ron Pilbeam going to have to change his surname to Seal?)
Excellent re imminence of timing
I REALLY do not think that many folk outside this BB have a clue about the sheer scale of this thing
clue...a post on here can elicit 20 ‘likes’ on a good day...
the record was about 55 I think
Back on 20 DEC 2011 ...
one of my technical hyperspectral imaging posts on Interactive Investor elicited 656 ‘likes’
IE at least one whole order of magnitude more folk reading
Guercif is ...no shadow of doubt...the *** biggest on land drill campaign since 2009
(I measure that *** as to upside potential / current ENTERPRISE VALUE)
I am not even going to talk about risked upside/EV !!
Some remain bemused re why PRD has the sort of EV it currently has...
It is blindingly simple:
(this is a bit flowery ...but trying to make a point)
The world of investment opportunities is VAST...liken it to a giant river delta, if you will
Within that delta are many mighty water flows
And in turn they gain their power upstream from smaller rivers/streams...
well I have to tell you...
in contrast... PRD is merely a tiny babbling brook ...
so is hardly noticed by the investment community at large...lost in the thunderous noise
BUT...when this thing gets going, we are all going to be pleasantly surprised by how powerful it is
BTW...various name changes have been suggested...I am not totally against modifying the name IN DUE COURSE/IF it can be done without causing distraction to the VALUE CREATORS /BoD
But as to the suggestion re calling it Agile Energy...
That cannot work ...it is the private investment vehicle of my friend Jeremy Asher
Usual caveats
