...to surf N Atlantic IT and found that 5% of their fund is invested here! Nice to have my research franked in this way!
Going to be rather good. NAV here massively above SP. Mini-rerate coming. Possible switvh out of AIM but only my hope! DYOR.
And pay higher than asking price! Don't like doing this but I reckon the MMs are short of stock and peeps are keeping tight grip on them ahead of the conference call. Nice yield and massive discount to assets. The only thing not to like is the AIM quote, so maybe that will change.

#POLR We publish on Polar Capital's Trading Update. No change in our fair value of 1305p, but it still sits c.70% above the current share price. Their PE ratio is also at odds to the rest of the sector. Full note here: https://www.equitydevelopment.co.uk/research/h1-ahead-of-forecast-and-further-push-into-sustainables
These are now looking cheap at this price
Let's see if we can end the week above the £9 mark
"Polar Capital revealed on Tuesday that non-executive director Brian Ashford-Russel had disposed of 25,000 ordinary shares in the AIM-listed asset manager."
Halifax research news 13 July
His timing was good anyway. Any comments?
Lol +50% since last post - still too expensive?
POLR is on the shopping list but for me this price is too high. I have a fair bit of cash in the stash but think patience is the name of the game.
"Polar said he is ‘diversifying his portfolio’ and is also committed to ‘improving the free float and liquidity’.
Ashford-Russell, who founded Polar with Tim Woolley in 2001 and who remains a non-executive director, has been gradually selling down his holding in the business since offloading £2.1m worth of shares in July.
He remains a top 10 backer though, owning 4.6 million shares worth £31m at today’s price of 674p."

The problem with this share is one minute I think I should buy. The next I think no way. I guess I am buy Polar.
Wow - finally re-rated. Been in this for two years seeing it go from 6.00 to 4.00. Missed the plunge to 2.80 but added again at 4.00. Great to see the move up especially with such as solid dividend policy.
Have 7.25 as a first target and will need to review. Question of how far this could go. Richard Leonard talked about them having a significant increase on the funds under management. Will still be holding
Great results in a difficult environment and with more to come with the acquisition of the US fund. Tech and pharma funds continue to dominate and apparently they have best in class fund teams.
Dividend of over 5.5% per annum is great. Core part of portfolio now.
Good Morning Saleintosunset
Yes this is an excellent increase in Assets under Management. To increase the Assets by about 34.49% within the past 6 months when we have Covid-19 is amazing.
What I really like is the “Market Movement” (increase of) £3,588 Million.
I estimate an Interim Dividend of 10p and a Final of 30p say 40p for the year and all this on a share currently only £5.16. I expect we are heading towards £6 shortly.
RKB
A combination of net inflows, market uplift and outperformance enabled our AuM to increase by 34% over the six-month period to £16.4bn from £12.2bn.
Why invest in POLR?
I actually watched the video below with Richard Leonard.
I find that you can often benefit from professional investors if you listen carefully to what they are saying. Warren Buffett is someone we probably have all heard of and I take note of what WB says and I will be taking note of what Richard Leonard is also saying.
Although the video is 55 minutes long it has some excellent insights as to Richard Leonard’s approach to investing.
Some quotes:
“If I own a stock >29 days I have a 95% hit rate of making money”
“I look for predictable sustainable revenues” “I want resilience of earnings”
“I look for a Company with a P/E <20”
“The Policy Makers are going to make equities an unbelievable attractive proposition 12-18 months”
“I do not think there will be another stock market correction, because the FED, ECB & BoE, they in effect have underwritten equity markets and I have never seen that before in my career”
“Don’t want Companies with earnings downgrades”
“Limit myself to 16 holdings”
So why did Richard Leonard invest in Polar Capital Holdings? Watch the video.

PS POLR is also mentioned about 19:44 & 32:17

Excellent Quarterly Update
Assets under Management £15.2 Billion a £3 Billion increase from March 2020.
£2.9 Billion increase was related to market movement and fund performance.
Gavin Rochussen, Chief Executive, commented: "We remain confident that with our highly active specialist fund strategies we are well positioned to perform for our clients and shareholders over the long term."
I think this share will continue to be an excellent dividend producer.

Finally Bought in
I have taken some profits from my Italian company and put some of it in here.
I have been watching for a while and I had to wait for the Annual Results yesterday and then do my in-depth analysis.
Earlier this year I fully dissected Metro Banks Accounts but it appeared to fall on stone deaf ears.
I will not bore you with my analysis and will just post two points.
Point One: Pre Tax Profits £50.8 Million
Point Two: Total Dividend 33p and 25p final dividend will be paid on 31st July.
RKB
Have topped up at 534p. No big clouds on the horizon other than the continuing fallout from Woodford and HL as far as I can see.
Pressure generally upwards now, it seems. I might look to get more on the drops depending on any profits I can take elsewhere.
to buy Polar. Then I was kicking myself when it dropped. But I was happy again a few minutes later.
Hi allatsea. Just dropping by to give you a wave. I am slightly underwater here or maybe break even with divis. Very happy holder though as I think it is undervalued.
Just grabbed a few more with some of my election bonus profits..
It's disappointing and I cannot fathom any direct cause.
Peel Hunt and SHore Capital rate it highly this month and it is led by what reads as a good team. My suggestion is that the drop is caused by general conditions and possibly fear of another 'Woodford'. POLR however does not look sensibly comparable with Woodford.
