Korg What a dreadful comparison, there is no comparison between DB and NS. When DB took over COMS the SP immediately jumped by over 50% and never looked back. The PINN SP closed at 10.75p on 17th Feb and the appointment of NS was announced at 7am the next day. There was a brief rise based on sentiment but now reality has hit home and the SP is down by about 30%. There is absolutely no comparison between these 2 CEO's.
you are winding poor Korg up
PInn rejectected the coms offer Katie, you know that. Comms recovered a wee bit I see, but coms need to deliver to move higher IMO.
2.2p more like. DB is no fool as you say, hence he didn't buy it or go all the way....... wonder what he found out ? X
I think things are better than some weaker shareholders think. COMS valued them at 22p, and nobody thinks DB is a fool. The 22p bid price is a rebound target imo.
PINN must be all over the place riddled with confusion as to how and why the share price is being ravaged by a suspicious market and valued at less than the Boards perception of value. Oh how the mighty and pompous have fallen since those heady days of 24p when everything looked so rosy and robust! It is unreal that a potential bid of 21p was rebuffed but I guess COMS are breathing a sigh of relief in not buying out this "failure" if the share price is anything to go by, after all, how long has it been since PINN issued a trading update ? Things look weak here
Mr. Nicholas Scallan is Chief Executive Officer, Director of Pinnacle Technology Group PLC. Prior to joining Pinnacle, Nicholas was most recently Director of Customer Solutions at Virgin Media Business. He spent nine years at Virgin Media, holding a number of commercial and operational roles including P&L management of the data products portfolio, customer engineering, and has overseen a number of organisational restructuring activities. Before Virgin Media, Nicholas was at Energis, responsible for broadband, data and internet related programmes. In The Netherlands he held the position of Networks Director for Enertel NV, and was involved in the sale of the business to a Dutch venture capital group. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
OK. Some decent buys today, still at a discount to the directors buys, and a colosal discount to the recent high of 15p.
Fair enough. Good luck.
They have reduced head count, business confidence is picking up, which provides opertunity to cross sell (the voip market is gaining momentum generally - coms do voip too by the way), cloud facilities are replacing traditional onsite servers etc, and security is still a big revenue generator. Don't know if they are doing the commonwealth games, but with virgin media they could be assisting in more festival live events etc.
To be precise: 2013 EBITDA (£769103) = Loss £2,435,468 therefore EBITDA 'breakeven' would have been Loss £1,666,365....
"the Board embarked on a strategic review of the Group and has taken robust actions to reduce on-going costs in recent months. As a result, the Group is now trading close to EBITDA breakeven on a monthly basis." The new CEO, has probably improved on this. The sales force, with gyuidance, should have pulled in new business too. If not get rid of them, and Pinn go positive EBITDA .
"EBITDA neutral" is not the same as "breakeven". The difference was £1.4m in 2012 and £1.6m in 2013....
Yes, a fact that they are now cheaper to buy, cheeper than all the director purchases @9.75p! So go and buy cheaper than the directors!
Good qualifications - yes this led to a sentiment filled rise in the SP. But now the dust has settled and the SP is lower than when he started - FACT.
That's it jolly, add in more improvements and some cross selling and that will be. VAST improvement. So look good on a turnover to map ratio. Like I say look at the new CEOs cv. You'll spot some good qualifications.
Please get you facts straight on COMS. The revenue was £1.62m for the year ending Jan 2013. Now read the Trading updates RNS's on 24/2/14 and 14/4/14 and you will see that Revenues for the year ending Jan 2014 are set to be £14m. In addition Revenues for Q1 Feb - Apr 2014 are set to be around £14m. I am so glad the PINN turned down the 21p per share offer from COM 8 months ago.
an rns 5 and a half months ago "It should be noted however, that following the announcement of the Interim Results to 30 March 2013, the Board embarked on a strategic review of the Group and has taken robust actions to reduce on-going costs in recent months. As a result, the Group is now trading close to EBITDA breakeven on a monthly basis." ...not that recent lol
Grateful if you could paste a copy of this update with the date of the rns from which it is extracted...I cannot see any reference to achieving breakeven ...scanning through recent rns...but I may have missed it ...wouldn't want anyone to be misled, would we?
Read the last update, they have been operating at breakeven since then, and are improving. Bonner has stepped down and replaced by ex virgin media. Good credentials too, look up his cv.
Press the fundamental button here, it doesn't say small operating profit. It says large losses ? X
A small operating profit here, and you double your money. Good luck with coms though. Atb
I am not so sure many would agree here Korg, rather get the hell out before you lose everything IMO X
10 mil repeat revenue for a 3 mil market cap. Growth expected by cross selling and cost cuttings, plus a new ceo, ex virgin media, looks like a good deal IMO. Some people sell then regret. Coms do pretty much the same as pinn, but coms turned over just 1.5 mil and have a 60 mil mcap.coms still overvalued. I think your better buying more pinn IMO.
