Hey all
Waiting on the news of the launch of Pfd products over the pond .
I have also been searching the internet for any news
of mr Kipling products for sale in Walmart and the like (?but apart from an expensive Brit food seller which imports some )
Anyone else have any info ?
I have sat here carefully watching, for some time. You will see from my history on this board that i am usually positive, but never over excited. I have no other basis other than, i believe I am witnessing a similar trend in share price to a stock I held years ago, prior to a bid coming in. I bet there would be a lot of takers (SH)for a decent bid, in the current world/economic climate at a price that is not fantastic, but as i mention, is decent. We shall see.
I am in no rush. Have a good weekend all.
Hope this link works

Article about Kipling sales in the US. Anyone got access to it ?
Yeah great, a mix of old values with keen/eager staff, selection of new products ( mint Choc fancy looks tasty) and modern machinery and methods!
This is a great insight and makes me feel happy with my investment, drip, drip, drip of good news.... Can't see Mr Kipling, becoming Kiplings ( as in Uncle Bens becoming Bens), not yet at least!
Mr kipling cake factory programme just started
Yeah, quite right, but I think the recommendation is just another little piece of a bigger foundation, which will lead to a springboard to the next level for this share, not quite yet, but in the foreseeable.
Need to just get the old stuff, completely tied up with no nasties to bite back.

Funny isn't it that sometimes brokers notes just don't get mentioned when they should.
JEFFERIES RAISES PREMIER FOODS PRICE TARGET TO 135 (130) PENCE - 'BUY'
Feb could be like 5-10% drop, ShareSave sellers are coming in. Historically - 3 of 4 cases have drop. In line with jedclampit's numbers.
PFD's graph candles often are without tails/wigs. And price rises/falls stop dead at certain round numbers multiple days in a row. I have no clue who does this.
Yes, that is my take on it as well.
It does seem to get stuck about the £1.20 mark and then drop back to £1.05- £1.10, so maybe back to £1.05 regardless of how good the results are.
Will the SP go ?
Predictions please. I want to know when to get back in.
new NED ominous...
Can’t really see why they would want to. They have their distribution agreement with Premier.
The only reason that I can see them making a bid would be if another suitor came along that might threaten their distribution agreement with Premier.
Still interested to have views on why Nissin wouldn’t bid. More generally, Japanese food businesses have been eager to invest overseas, particularly because the growth opportunities in Japan are absent- declining population; and risk aversion- business interruption due to earthquakes etc.
Vivek Sharma ‘slams’ Premier Foods (PFD) in the latest PIWORLD/Stockopedia StockSlam at 40m45s

Most definitely the reason there is no potential bid premium is due to Nissin 20% stake.
Simply Wall St’s come value for Premier Foods is arrived at by discounting future cash flows to their present value using the 2 stage method at 276p
This might sound over optimistic but I believe the true value is some where between 119p and 276p
If there was a bid it will be closer to 276p which is why I'm still sticking around, also the prospect of dividend growth is a bonus.
maybe the Nissin stake is seen as a blocker by potential acquirers?
Any reason Nissin wouldn’t make an offer?
I have been in PFD shares since the dormant days !
I believe the update today is good, and really the days of the rising share price before any announcement , leading to a quick decline, whatever the news , are gone! The company is completely different now in the way it is run. Those financial wizards, changing the pension deficit and the unforeseen cash intake from the last two years mean the benefits are all that we have mentioned etc etc
If the share price rises or drops on news then it will be with merit, not just because it always has. I also feel we are 80% of the way to what the board wants to achieve in the this section of the company revamp, they started a couple of years ago.
There will be bumps along the way, but an overall increase in SP and DIV.
The next section of the plan in business growth could be to add a couple of product types with an existing good brand that needs to be promoted. I am thinking a repurchase of Quorn, or something like the family owned brands Tunnocks or Golden Wonder, from Tayto. 40 years ago Golden Wonder were near on No1 snack manufacturer in UK, crisps, nuts etc
With PFD backing Walkers can literally take a hike!
All in my humble opinion of course, but I have been keen on this share since I got a wif of the review, after studying the business on Holiday in Spain 5 years ago. Its a medium term hold for me at least, no doubt.

Definitely that’s why I am holding
I remember when I was working in a biscuit factory in the late 80s ( Jacobs ) at the time owned by US food giant Nabisco , who when pulling out of Europe
sold Jacobs to Danone ( French ) we at the time were winding up the management saying if you don’t learn French quick it will be the foreign legion for you ! Obviously before the internet but even though we worked there we didn’t know until it happened
I was wondering about the Hershey confectionery company as an outside bet ?
GL everyone
PFD is not for Unilever, they are backing out of tea etc...
Having said that there are plenty of other big food company which will be looking at PFD, especially now that profit guidance will be better than last year.
I also think dividend will be increased above consensus which only propel the SP forward
Also expecting better news on pension liabilities.
onwards and upwards :)
Unilever only looking for 'healthy' foodstuffs - hence why they backed out of offer for GSK
