Two issues here

First is not changing the transformer oil in the transformer ( midal oil probably ) moisture and carbon buildup and you end up with arcing etc

this is NG and their sub contractors for dragging their heals having the transformer down for a 3 hour service

But also Heathrow own APs ( approved persons HV high voltage ) should have switched the ring main units on their site to the alternative supply.

I know in their case it’s manual switching removal of a padlock and switching to off/on after first making sure the Sf6 gauge is in the green , but staff sounded unfamiliar with their own systems / safe system of work and delayed doing anything ?

Some airports/mod sites have motorised HV switches which basically ensures a make before break when switching supplies and prevents accidentally switching to earth in error .

And can switch over in a couple of minutes with minimal disruption and even practice regular

Yes my Capita administered civil service pension is now digital.. changed last month, so no more monthly wage slip etc / p60 all can be done via an online portal now etc

Surely this will stimulate the UK economy in a good way ? To help our lagging economy ( compared to others etc ) must hopefully if works out give a boost to CPI
