Actually it was 0.35 GBP last year.
Dividends in GBX
In 2022, PayPoint plc reported a dividend of 0.26 GBP, which represents a 19.25% decrease from last year. The 4 analysts covering the company expect dividends of 0.38 GBP for the upcoming fiscal year, an increase of 46.92%.
I see. Only going of what dividendmax.com showing. Hence my previous post.
Ed, they've not declared a dividend yet, results not out till 6 July, they have been delayed this year.
(As indicated in the trading update published on 19 January 2023, it has been necessary to implement a short delay to our preliminary results announcement in order to complete the statutory accounting and audit work related to the acquisition of Appreciate Group. PayPoint Plc will now announce its preliminary results for the financial year ended 31 March 2023 on 6 July 2023.)
The daily volume is generally low - it's been like that for many years now Mark.
You could be right re the selling of appreciate shareholders, although I would have thought that they would have (mostly) sold straight away. Hard to tell really, that was my initial thought just after T/O when the price started coming off.
Hopefully they will continue to payout the current dividend levels (if not increase). It's always a concern when the share price starts dropping, but I guess we will find out reasonably soon
Its easy to move at the moment as the volume is so low
I can find no other reason either except for some Appreciate holders may still be selling what shares they were given (causes a generally negative sentiment) .I bought after reading a very positive indepth broker note in full.
It looks like a lot of patience is needed and in my experience when there's no reason for a continued drop, when the reversal comes it will carry the momentum in the other direction
Ex div in a month so might get an update by then. Though atm sp is in pretty much straight forward direction down...
i have checked the data available on the morningstar, marketscreener, ft and their holdings has not changed really. more then 25 percent drop since acquisition, it does not make sense. may be there is a bigger seller and the market is just ****e at the moment to reverse the trend. i would not say it is a company specific issue, plenty other company has similar sp weakness lately. almost 10 percent divi if you buy now.
I took opening position aroun 430p though now looks like 400p is incomming. Why??
Still no let-up in the price decline. I'll try and find out Asteriscos holding, something has to be going on behind the scenes
The downward trajectory of the price is maddening really. Something has to give either way.....
At under 439p
Poker,
I think you’ll find they are liquidity trades as part of a MM scheme to generate volume. See it a lot.
Definition: market making incentive schemes that the Exchange is mandated to offer under Article 48(2)(b) of MiFID and Article 1 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/578
Page 58 covers it and also ALGO trades.

They put through trades to trigger sells and or buys.

Games or not this is undervalued..how has a peer been priced at 15x earnings yet this at 8x with profit forcast at top end?
Novice82,
definite games going on here ....attempts to push down the Bid brought a quick 235p price which i tried to buy into but failed..so little volume...
28-Apr-23 10:03:10 435.78 2 Sell* 435.50 441.00 8.72 O
and then you have the Bulls trying hard to keep it above that 440p level with tiny buys to push up the Ask..

It happens a lot PokerChips. Some think that it's a code for the MM needing stock, I think it's just shenanigans by traders who are trying to tease out a large bidder or offerer depending on what side the spread is being traded
what is with all these 1 share trades ??

low liquidity mate. Paypoint has always been like this, its very lightly traded. And most of the shares are held by institutions.
I'll try and find out if Asteriscos have reduced further, this may be causing the daily small drop.
How can this open 6p lower induced by 2 tiny trades (115, 1 shares)?
Hi
I haven’t bought back but I think it’s well oversold. I exited with a ‘small’ loss with the divi after trading down only because I needed cash to build a position in DEST which was imo a gift at under the last placing price. I also added to my DUKE holdings under 30p as they offered a higher quarterly yield.
It was more of a case that something had to go as you can’t do it all but I hope to buy back into PAY. A near 8% yield here with an increasing divi after the latest TU seems such good value!
I hold DEC which is also down but I am not bothered as the yield is well covered and insane!
Had I not stumbled on DEST which is a rare opportunity to buy a biotech with funded late stage clinical trials I would still hold PAY.
Any profits from DEST will likely come back here.

Yes, hopefully 7+ a shares in a year.
I don't disagree. Well actually I do...I don't think it will take a year for this to turn around, would stick my neck out and say that within the next 3-6 months we should be back at around 550. It's just stuck in a rut at the moment, a bit of positive press wouldn't go amiss...
30k shares have been traded and we are 1.5 percent down. It is a joke. Come back in a year, it will be a different playing field.
Are you still confident that the sp is ready to go now Trek?
Shhh, You'll jinx it ;-) Two days of small, upwards price movements makes a (nice) change. Maybe, just maybe ;-)
