@Karen, Another u-turn, blame the public not his prevarication on lockdown, stopping people entering UK, absolutely shocking policy on cheap tests from China when trying to promote domestic manufacturers, crap T&T, money pi@@ed away on an epic scale (Randox, PPE, overpaid ‘project management’, shocking revelations re centralised laboratory mismanagement, the list is endless. In all this NCYT ends up with sp in the dumps. GM needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat and soon!
I heard that earlier k. Cases are already rising and it seems BJ is already planning and justifying his next lock down .
I think quite a few of us here knew vaccines weren’t the golden bullet we were led to believe .
Tory linked firm involved in testing failure given new 347 million covid ...........
Watch out watch out sneaky is about !
Now guess what he is not telling us

Just playing the devils advocate but if we have our own versalab trucks I’m guessing we won’t be heavily involved ? Unless they need a specific test.
Courtesy of rain cloud , 500 Renault vans leased by government for mobile testing .
Not sure who they will be using for testing now ? Unless individual councils are to pay for the testing as previous rated ?

That is indeed some sneaky wording on that randox description troublesome .
And yourgene now as well.

They claim the test performance is not affected by mutations found in the U.K, S.A. & Brazilian variants.
Not quite the same as detecting or distinguishing between them.
They don't pick up any variants! Only Variplex does for rapid testing.
So randox are doing holiday PCR tests for £60 ?
Does anyone know how well these tests pick up variants ?
Hydr to be transparent I agree with gazman, you sold on Friday as is your right then your comments have been less than positive, you should consider this as it doesn't read very well and people may think you are trying to talk the share down, I'm not going to trek thru all your posts but you never came across this way please have respect for those still invested, I'm going to bed so won't be ignoring if you deem a response appropriate regards Wilson.
Hydra you have just made me smile , ive heard the only saying this because of newbies so many times. I recall vividly you suggesting 90 versalabs at one airport then toning it down and saying 40. It's got bells on lols
This Govt relies on False Promises, false positives and false negatives.
When students return to their campuses, infections, variants are likely take off exponentially again in so many places that surge testing will not be able to cope although deaths will be reduced as a result of vaccination.
We are in a honeymoon period ATM yet again and the Govt have learnt to be more cautious although the Test, Track & Trace system still remains woeful albeit some of the numbers may sound impressive to some.
IMO this time is being used to obtain PCR's as cheaply as possible in desperation knowing that another wave is inevitable and in the knowledge that all the propaganda surrounding the use of cheap rapid LFT's will be exposed.

Gasman. I know it’s hard to hear anything but positives when you hold a stock, but stocks go up as well as down and newbies should take a balanced view... there are many ramping the stock to high heaven which at this point I think is quite dangerous. At least I’m being honest. I have sold my holding. I am not shorting. I’ve held for over a year and a half and I am still emotionally connected to the stock because I’ve followed it for so long. I would love nothing more than for GM to release a multi million contract RNS tomorrow and I’d jump back in again but I don’t think that’s going to happen. If you know minervi... it looks like we are in stage 4, don’t expect it to ping back to £8 tomorrow. When it does rally it’s going to be met with overhead supply and traders/sellers who want to recoup losses. To overcome that it needs a positive change in fundamentals. Come on Graham.... make my day!!
Are randox cheaper even after slashing price ...............only in quality ......
Have already been selling our tests to DHSC for less than £10 and to commercial/private healthcare for less than £15. With regards to Versalab, I'd imagine that our overheads are relatively low when compared to a clinical lab and therefore NCYT are well placed to offer retail PCR tests at a very competitive price.
Diagnostics are set to revolutionise health care, so much more than just testing for Covid.
Testing shall remain in place for at least the next decade, vaccination is not the silver bullet that the Government would have you believe. Check the Surge Testing in London Today, many of those testing positive for the SA variant have previously received the vaccine.
From the Telegraph...It is thought the virus was spread from that individual to members of their household and then to a care home in Lambeth where 13 staff and 10 residents were infected. Six of the 10 residents had received one dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine two or more weeks before their positive test date. One of the 13 infected staff had a single Pfizer vaccine dose two or more weeks before their positive test.
Hydr31, I appreciate what you ate saying about sales teams. This is a significant management task, of greater importance than issuing RNSes to try and massage the share price. But may I suggest that you read the R&D RNS from 24 Feb? NCYT has devoted significant resources with the aim of developing new products to stay ahead of the curve. As they did so admirably last year. And which will, of course, continue to command a premium margin. It is all part of the plan, which GM has communicated. They are not just going to sit on their hands and milk last year's product as long as they can.
I encourage newbies to read previous posts of posters because some may have hidden agendas in what they are saying. E.g. Hydr has admitted he sold out on Friday and now seems very keen to knock the company's merits. Sometimes the lady doth protests too much, me thinks
You said it porky. Being cheap wins the day. Did anyone else see the article about randox reducing the price of pcr to £65 from £100. We may have the best test but i don’t think our government cares so long as they look like they are getting tests to the frontline. Will private business like Manchester airport care about having the best test OR the best margin. We were the first to market but now there is plenty of supply. I think this will be more bad news to come. Not only are revenues under pressure but margins will be too.
All the calculations on what the future may look like are being done using 2021 expected figures which are not indicative of long term revenues OR indeed margins . Start slashing the margin and see what happens to your earnings per share!!
Great day today but I don’t think the selling is over. This doesn’t feel like the no brainer it was a year ago and perhaps that is because we are now faced with the reality that the sales aren’t as high as we expected, the dhsc contract hasn’t delivered as we expected, competition is fierce and the vaccination programs are in full swing.
A massive undertaking is now required to turn this around. I run sales teams and it’s hard to take on one new employee and get them trained and supported to success. Generally I wouldn’t take on more than one new one rep at a time as otherwise I wouldn’t have the time to invest in them. Quite often candidates don’t work out at huge cost to the business. Novacyt are taking on teams of sales people. It must be a nightmare to get the right candidates and then know and trust what they are all up too.
As a totally offside comment:-
Frankly with all the talk and Rhetoric by our government about buying British it does look like being as cheap as chips wins the day. They are taking the biscuit.
A few weeks back papers were full of awards for GAD, Surescreen and Omega to secure part of the the £ 8bn tenders and now we find that some awards are given but can't be executed for what ever reason and the Chinese who gave us this dam virus are securing mega deals as a result !!!
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9438727/Two-firms-supplying-kits-Governments-mass-Covid-testing-drive-huge-payday.html
£2.8 bn award to Innova. Also sick of the press trying to paint them as a Californian business. Technically yes but all the kit is manufactured in China and we will be collecting the kit from china and paying all the dam flight shipping costs from China.
Don't care that most of these are LFT orders its the principle of it - £ 2.8bn of business should go to UK companies.
Anyhow, it is as it is...
In some ways we are better NOT to be reliant on UK government contracts, they can u-turn on decisions at the flip of a coin by the looks of it.
