Its interesting actually as the whole area is high on a national level. Bradford, Barnsley and Rotherham all in the top 10 of the country. Not sure why, must be idiots ignoring advice. Mind you the parks seem packed so doesn't surprise me its picking up again.
Council are considering it owls, its in the sheffield star, you can find it online. Basically if people dont start obeying social distancing it will happen. Also the rotherham story is in there too. Sheffield has one of the highest rates per population in the country now, although i think part of that is due to the hospitals being specialised in it.
OWLS, Do you really think this is correct? "This is a share for gamblers, not investors".
Just put a list for us how many shares in AIM market have the same position or better than Novacyt please.
Give some real factors and we will support you, if not. Trust me, we all here will ignore you.
Thank you
Keep that as a thought ...
I also live in Sheffield and I have heard nothing about Sheffield going in to a local lockdown.
People on here seem to want the pandemic to get worse so they can benefit financially. This is a share for gamblers, not investors.
Agree Balanced, brand recognition is really important nowadays. Every Biotech or any Company related with Covid-19 KITs knows very well Novacyt. We have all ingredients to make a nice cake.
Good point but it will be very ironic if we keep speculating takeover for days and weeks and this has been discussed to death but GM haven't even thought about it for a minute :-)
Obelix
Yes any company interested would want to offer now rather than later - it's not just sales but the reputation and branding of the company should have got better by then so more money to pay to buy imo.
Well said Balanced.
According to your view (opinion) it's better to make an offer now than in 2 or months?
The sales will increase more and more (we are expecting) the sales figures be much better than June
Sharehunter posted few days ago, the distribution channel that Novacyt developed.
America & Central and South America still on the First Wave. (most of the Countries are in the Winter time)
Then will be us again by October. So, every scenario will be possible and only will benefit the Company & Shareholders
With Qiagen it was really their other business that the acquiring company is interested in and covid testing is part of that - there was some rumoured shareholder disquiet about it being sold on the cheap as post covid the world had changed which suggests that diagnostic companies valuations may need to be revised upwards.
As a comparison to Qiagen we don't have the same pre covid turnover as them so wouldn't be valued as high as them imo. But we may have taken a bigger chunk or lead from them as regards covid testing relatively speaking ( the turnover figures are not the same) so it shows our worth to a competitor we have been first of the blocks for the last few pandemic scares.
Does our pre covid business have value to a purchaser? We are in what may be the fastest growing field in diagnostics going forward - that of infectious disease. Imo any takeover will be at lower levels than those suggested by fellow investors here, doesn't mean I'm right and doesn't mean a takeover will happen.
What may increase any takeover price is the longer the company can keep bringing in the covid income it will put it in a better bargaining position with any suitor imo.
Trick with this one is to stop focusing on daily SP and look at the bigger picture. Convinced that NCYT will come good for us all, either as a successful stand alone, or as a T/O payout. Enjoy the game and be patient, it'll come good in one of these two ways.
A good point of reference for valuation based on covid is the Quiagen situation with Thermo. A major shareholder in Quiagen stated that the value of the company had increased by $2bn based on its revenue and forward book from testing kits for covid. I dont know how many we have sold in comparison to them but that should put some perspective on it.
Zimbabwe tender won so have had practice and already in bed with UK govt so don't envisage any issues .
Amers, do you have more information about the Grant? Please share with us. Thank you
Usain, based on the sixth consecutive rise in the sales, I think 650p - 700p will be unfair. We can't predict or say the real value.
One think is for sure, Covid-19 will be between us for long enough for the Company recover the value spend in Novacyt
We have all good news around us and if the make a Hostile Take over many of us will be unhappy Private Investors
Not sure about the t/o price, but below 720p will not be good for us. (only my opinion)
First Usain, just for clarity, I'm suggesting that NCYT is now a prime, proven target. They WILL be under intense scrutiny by the big boys, but that doesn't guarantee a deal. However, it is now a strong possibility.
I don't go with Millionaires By Monday valuations, but I'd say anywhere upto £1B. Doubt it would go above that, given it's Covid centric outlook.
Haven't read board completely today , at work, peeking randomly. Today is Bastille day, biggest Bank hol by far in France , so I assume volumes are low?
IMHO - I think big Pharma's are waiting in the wings, to see how big the slice of cake we get from Gov £5 Billions.
There is so much Jam for NCYT to hoover up that I feel like Paddington Bear in a Mr Kiplings Cake factory.
well said fali41 - my thoughts exactly
Key to this company growing over the next 12-18 months is contracts for new innovative products in testing. Yesterday told us the money has been spent and new products are coming. We know our governement are about to spend a whole lot of money on testing and others will follow suit. We need Graham and the team to deliver on this front. If they are successful then the mcap will follow suit. A LOT hinges on this next few weeks.
Usain, the big boys wouldn't buy based on jam tomorrow RNSs, they'd need to see proof and ensure that the company could actually go to market and generate cash. NCYT are the first to do just that. Plus they tick all the other boxes.
Prime targets after that RNS.
Just as an update... I live in Sheffield and the council are now warning it is likely we will be put into a local shutdown again soon. Also the entire town of Rotherham will be tested regardless of symptoms. This isn't going away people, now is the time to get in for the next rally.
Kaeren, agreed. The more I study it, the more it makes sense. If you were in a big pharma's shoes at the moment, wouldn't you want NCYT? I would.
What has gone before were the qualifiers. Qualifiers are over and other Covid wannabes will now struggle. NCYT won the qualifiers. It's prize could well be that it gets eaten up pretty damn quickly....
@cringsing "Remind me, why would anybody spend $1bn on a CoVid testing company, knowing a vaccine plausibly is 9-15 months away?"
Because the Homeland Security Research's best analysts did a deep dive on the various Covid markets and reckon the PCR testing market alone will be worth over $20 billion:
