Re-read what I wrote numpty - clue in "right to the dividend" ..... you don't get the right to the dividend if you buy on Ex dividend day ......
that was my understanding, u had to be in before it goes ex, the date of record is usually the following day or session
Incorrect! The ex dividend date is the date where you are excluded from the dividend if you were to buy it on that date.
One ignores the record date .... The day of Ex dividend gives you the right to the dividend which is tomorrow.
I'm surprised that the shares has not ticked up today despite being the last day for interim 4% dividend qualification?
yeah, this is odd..... http://www.dividenddata.co.uk/ex-dividend-date-search.py?searchTerm=NAH States Ex-Date as the 28th, so in theory you need to have bought on the 27th, yet...... http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/news/market-news/market-news-detail/NAH/13366996.htm States the date of record as the 29th, and does not mention the 28th at all so, normally, you can buy on the 28th to still be on the record for the 29th, as i'm not buying anymore it doesnt matter to me, but will be interested to see when the likes of H&L consider it Ex
ToD that's an interesting point, having to buy by the COP today, but hold through till the 29th, that's a new one on me. I'm a little disappointed that the recent recovery seems to have stalled a little. I'm also kicking myself for not having the funds to average down when i had the chance as it would have brought me down into the 144 region, and that would have afforded me an exit strategy, but alas, no funds as i'm pretty much locked in elsewhere, so just have to sit and wait.
I never buy a load at a single price but always dip feed in small amounts over time :)
"NAHL has a technical hurdle when it comes to qualifying for the dividend. The ex dividend date is 28th Sep but the record date is 29th Sep. So you must buy the shares before 28th Sep and remain on the share register by 29th Sep to qualify for the dividend. " Eejit.
NAHL has a technical hurdle when it comes to qualifying for the dividend. The ex dividend date is 28th Sep but the record date is 29th Sep. So you must buy the shares before 28th Sep and remain on the share register by 29th Sep to qualify for the dividend. At the current share price, the dividend of 5.3p works out about 4% yield just for the interim dividend, which is cash settled on 31st Oct.
i'm still holding an avg of around 1.62 as i didn't have any funds to avg down, nor the appetite to throw more in here given how much it would have needed to be to lower the average to a worth while level. expect another sharp nose dive after the ex-divi
Bailed a bunch today ... holding average 1.279 down to 1.226 after dividends. Time to stick ... Good luck all.
.. and only a 10% yield 1.5X covered .... grumble grumble grumble :)
yup, at the end of the day, company is making a profit, when plenty arent
Look this company is still making decent profits and paying a very good Divi and profits in line so all looks ok to me with a very low PE of under 6
Seems to me as though you missed my sarcastic "4 shares" jibe .... give my regards to Wenger LOLOLOL :)
🤡Do you think the market listen to our small talk?? Your a bigger 🤡;than I thought and actually I live in Croatia so I voted to remain!! Wrong again 🤡; Bye 👋
🤡💩🤡
I can't quite fathom the logic of a holder of shares warning the market in advance of a major dumping of the 4 or so shares held .... ....I'll wager you voted leave with your brains lol
"Careful what you say Crystal, your not following Dooms🤡 view 😝" LMAO.... well it would be a very boring place if we all had the same view, as for the stubborn bit, yeah, i fall squarely into that, i'm down 20% and there is no f'ing way i'm swallowing that loss, so i'll just be holding and collecting (the now diminishing) dividend, i kind of see myself locked in with this one, and others in my portfolio, and then there's the ones i should be trading but never quite have the guts to do it, because a lot of mine (this one not withstanding) have been patience based, and i'm in at good averages, this one i got greedy and went for the dividend, which was a bad idea !
Have half left the party Doom🤡 Quite a few shares to dump!! In front @ the minute. Their is risk Doom🤡 and then their is stubbornness and you seem to have lots of the latter 😔
Eh? My point was that people who can't accept risk ... should stick with the 0.5% interest offered by the bank .... so nothing misleading .... I've known Brexidiots with a better Theory of Mind :)
to be fair doom, your post about 0.5% is misleading, it will drop the % on divi day but we saw what happened after that last time so the divi gain is not a given
Pot Kettle? Thought you had left the party?
Careful what you say Crystal, your not following Dooms🤡 view 😝
