It's definitely 250 as I had a letter from the share centre last week asking if I would like to get my discount card so they could forward my request to Muberry...I agreed and received my discount card on Friday.
According to Mulberry website, private shareholders with 250 shares are entitled to 20 percent reduction on non sale items at shops listed. Have they changed it to minimum 500 shares. If so, they are misleading people, as the site should have been updated. I originally bought 80 shares at over 20 pounds and just last week purchased 170 to reach what i thought was the minimum threshold to get the rebate
Ha ha, that's what I told her! Hopefully they will bring the prices down and the so up!
Wordog you will win points big time from the wifey when she uses the profit next year to buy that new bag! Now go and buy her some cup shares as well so I can buy my wifey a house! Lol
Just bought the mrs 100 shares for valentines day, does that make me a bad husband? 500 shares gets you 20% discount, you need it at these prices! I'm expecting this to recover when they reduce price and get their old customers back.
So give your loved one a mulberry bag !then go and buy some cup shares while u are at it haha ! Gla and good value here at this price
Bought back in at 650p last week and at that price I do think this is good value for now. I'm in retail/manufacturing and to set up a company like MUL would cost more than £398m which is what it's worth today. True sp may drop further ..I suspect the next support price is around 620p but the target price for this share must be around 800p so for me it's worth the risk. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2550629/How-Mulberry-got-big-boots.html .. this article explain pretty much why MUL are doing so badly and how the ambition of a Frenchman has changed this wonderful British company into just another luxury brand selling over priced handbags.
Hate predictive texts and typing in train , just asked lady sitting next to me what kind of bag she has , her reply mulberry lol
How do u know this us going to go down ? Know one knows. But think it had found its level now, I can tell that your bible ain't in a mulberry bag! Now keep the faith lol
Madness - this share will only go down. The party is well and truly over, and the market reflects that. Grossly overblown stock. Get out while the going's good. Growth in China is falling, and the first consumer goods to suffer will be froth like Mulberry bags.
let's see what happens.
Agreed and am hopeful there has been an over-reaction so have doubled my holding.
As a great product with a company that maybe grew toooooo quick but is now getting their act together, GLA
I watched these from 2.00 all the way to 24.00 but never bought, I love this company and am sure they will sort things out . I think the last quarter has been very difficult for retail, and we are seeing this with so many company's as they are reporting. GLA
suggests a bottom ,for now been scene @ 648 ish ---------------got to be worth a small punt now, looking for a bounce tomorrow -----GLA
Maybe it was wishful thinking for me to say the worst is over for MUL back in July, I guess I didn't really believe it because I sold all our shares back in November for 1040 and reinvested elsewhere. I think apart from that one post which you quoted, all my posts on MUL were negative because I just don't agree with the direction this company is going. MUL was once a unique brand in a niche market, where you could buy a bag made in the UK for around £700... now you might pay £1200 for a bag that's made in China. Almost over night with breathtaking arrogance the new management decided to abandon their loyal customers by increasing their prices to compete in an over crowded luxury market with the likes of Chanel, LV, Hermes, etc., Having said that... now that Share price has fallen to 665, I think the valuation of the company is about right , if not a little low....so I would be tempted to buy back in for the short to mid term. One very obvious solution to MUL's marketing failure is to have a diffusion line, I just can't see any reason why they haven't done this already ! GL
Hi FaithHealer Was it not b1uesky that wrote that? Not that important like, but would like to point that out. Anyway! Time for some research on this bag of sh!te. LOL

I actually recommended my OH to buy some MUL today, I think this share is a pretty safe bet and we should see 1200 to 1400 soon" How do you judge today's sudden drop? Hope you didn't advise your OH to buy any. I reckon we'll see a healthy bounce this afternoon when NYSE opens. A lot of panic over poor, but not drastic trading. Over to you, Chandley, for your expert view.
trading below £7... following that update
Who uses premium share chat..!?
Thank you very much for your input
No prices to speak of?

Sorry about the slow reply. Ive kept a low profile here for a while, as nothing has happened really. Anyway, I dont agree that spilling the brand is a good idea. Im happy with Mulberry as one company, operating as one brand. My problem is purely that you see way too many Mulberry bags about. I know it sounds horrible, but do Mulberry really want the kind of customer who saves up £50 a month for a year, to then go and buy a bag in the Selfridges 20% off Xmas pre event? Personally, Id say no. If you have to save up so much for something so every day as a bag, then IMO, you cant really afford it. Radley customers do that, only its £20 a month. If Mulberry want to truly crack the upper echelons of hangbags, and I think they will, they need to be more exclusive, which means less people owning one. The only way to do that is to make them less accessible, and the only real way to do that, is to put prices up. So whilst the dual label thing isnt for me, Im 100% a big fan of having 'cheap' Mulberries for about £750 minimum, premium ones for £1500, and then the luxury range costing £4k+. They do that already to a degree, but they so need to ditch the Antony, Dorset, and all the other £400 ones. They devalue the brand, big time. I get it early on, when you're building. At this stage of the game, they need to go. Emma Hill can crawl to Burberry or wherever shes going, and her next/last range will be massive, but after that, its full steam ahead for the Mulberry revolution. Prices up 20%, numbers down down 15%. Easy maths. I notice that the new Bayswater Double Zip has a more European feel to it. Very high quality, very thick leather, and a quality lining too. A far cry from the original iconic Bayswater, with no lining and soft plyable leather. But then the Double Zip is £1500..... as a premium bag should be. They are not bags. They are status symbols. I have a record bag, or my manbag as the lads rib me for. I got it from Cheshire Oaks outlet a few years ago, and its still in tip top condition. I paid £275 for it. A girl in work said to me the other day 'Is that a Mulberry? Youre getting paid too much?'. If only she knew.
You said it yourself " The Chinese love anything English " and Mulberry most valuable asset is its British-ness. That's why they have to protect it's branding and not have their bags mass produce in China and Turkey. They also need to bear in mind their main market is still in the UK. I don't have a problem with Mulberry selling their bags for £1k+. In fact they already sell the Ostrich Bayswater for £4.5k. and that's the same price as a Hermes Birkin and I know which bag I preferred. A Birkin takes 48 hrs to make by a skilled craftsman in France. I don't know how many hours it takes to make a Mulberry and I don't know where it's being manufactured. I bought a Birkin 5 years ago for £4k, I could sell it now secondhand for £4k easily and get my money back so although it sounds a lot of money for a handbag, it's not a bad investment. I think it's a shame that Mulberry has shifted it's market to the wealthier clientele because there are many luxury brands in the market but there's only one Mulberry, they had this niche market where if you wanted to buy a high quality British made leather bag for under £800, Mulberry was the only choice but not anymore. I think Mulberry should do the sensible thing and create a new label for its more exclusive bags that are only produce in the UK. Similar to what Burberry did few years back with their more exclusive label Prorsum. I would never buy anything made by Burberry but I love Prorsum, the same could apply to Mulberry if they create a new label.
