So matlot,
Why is Goldman Sachs buying this when average pi got suckerered into selling ?
Matlot
Amers will be at the prty too.
Looking forward to that event
Cheers
Ref Metro Bank #MTRO Goldman's declaring their hand at just under 10% of float in unison with Gilinski and Ennismore is finally lining up the tanks against the shorts. Sheer madness to remain short at this valuation. Dont be surprised at a 10-20% up day tomo.
Mister southwest1000
Could take a few weeks/ months/ years. As long as we come out with a positive ROI, célébration will happen!
Good news and thanks for hints along the way, are we getting a bit carried away though , we've been through this pain a few times, 8% is great but I'm waiting for the fat lady to sing before I get carried away.
Might as well invite Odey and toast to his Tesla performance... oh wait... ;-)
I look forward to that time of celebration!
Popeye - Were you not shorting Metro?
Matlot
Sorry for the TCG conflict.
Stupid not to follow you then.............
You the man - indeed !!!
Cheers
I'm all good thank you Ammu. We haven't heard from you for a long while. I was staying in Glasgow just before the new year. I went across to the west coast to look at a new boat. I did post some photos on the group site. Do you still read the messages? It's nice to hear from you, and I hope you're doing well. Atb. Popeye.
Love the way a lot of posters **** off the retail investors, what the bloody hell do you think you are? I'll give you a clue RETAIL INVESTORS.
Just been busy with work. How’s everything with you?
Why would Goldman Sachs been buying when retails been selling ? Lol
I will leave the experts to answer that.
Good evening Ammu123. Fancy bumping into you here. How are you? I've got quite a few of these now. My original target was to be loaded up at 180p. I had to do a fair bit of shuffling, but I'm now loaded up at what I consider to be a good price, lower than the close today. Good luck with your trade. Atb. Popeye.
Evening Popeye, I bought some metro today.
We will soon find out if it was a smart move lol
matlot - You did at one stage say that things would start to move very quickly. With the rns from Goldman Sachs and their 8% holding, how long do you think it will take for all this to unravel? Do we have to wait for the FCA outcome first? Or would they push ahead regardless of the FCA outcome? Your opinion would be appreciated. Atb
Mister Matlot!
Thank you once again for numerous posts here and keeping some of the LTHers hopeful and informed.
I also thought about GS a few months ago and remember that after GS week in early 2020, some posters laughed it off and were disappointed that no offer was made.
Like I said several times over the past 2 quarters here, JV and takeovers take a LOT of time in normal scenarios. Not exactly buying a pack of crisps at an off licence.
Add to that legacy and egos here with Metro and we were always looking at a longer curve anyway.
But dear oh dear... the retail shorts will end up frying soon.
And no sympathy from us! ;-)
been in the box so long. must have missed you finally took the dive.
I'm long with a significant holding at a what I believe is a very good average. I look forward to what tomorrow and the next few weeks brings. Good luck all. Atb.
Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
didn't he go short when you said stock up?
matlot - I never laughed at you. I for one enjoy reading your posts. Atb
Matlot, don't remember you being laughed off, good stuff always sir
Although I'm new to all this and just playing with a small amount compared to many, buy on the rumour sell on the news makes sense to me.
Buy on the rumour, sell on the news.
Harsh truth, but fair, is that in the absence of a concrete takeover proposal Metro is a short all day long
