Neutral - they are just minor adjustments around an overall 5% position which they have held and adjusted in a similar fashion for a while. Very common for Blackrock to do that on large companies, likely just algo driven as well.
Help needed. Can anyone explain this RNS in terms of good/bad, just one word or sentence would help me. Thanks folks.
JJ, totally agree, radio 4 is the perfect platform the the affluent over 50's.
The news, on the back of the years SP risers and the introduction of brand names JAEGER ect, will bring the old faithful back, for at least a look at the new ranges. IMO
Toffee it struck me as very clear in terms of message and amounts to free advertising. She mentioned the age group which will have been listening to the prog. I have been trying get people I know to give M&S another look . The over 50's, I'm one, can be conservative in changing direction. BBC spot will do more than any advertising, which they tend to ignore. However they may give a fresh look at M&S now. Atb JJ
JJ, She sounded upbeat about the clothing side of things.
Good listen.
Brilliant promotion, must listen. JJ
Not sure if this relevant but worth reading.

Heading to right direction inmho.
The difference now is that even if customers don't want to buy clothes with an M&S tag, they have plenty of alternative options in store and online with the third part brands - this is the game changer.
Agreed Carrington. I'm noticing that some women are not yet convinced; even going in to buy their underwear but not looking around. M&S got such a bad reputation for being 'frumpy' that it will take time to change the view. JJ
JJ - the highlight of the results for me was that MKS are taking market share in Women's clothes, so long their nemesis - they can be tarnished with the dowdy frumpy image no more - FACT - this I think will play out going forward -clothing momentum now with MKS -that is a wonderful and powerful thing - rebound here next week imho.
dyor etc and good weekend all
Good article in the Times today which certainly helped me to understand just how well M&S are doing. We could well see this on the rise next week. That assumes 'someone' does not see fit to start WWIII. JJ
Not many ed, for most the trading cost wouldn't make it worth it, equally it's only worth 1p of the SP, I coughed once and it moved that much.
I wonder how many will reinvest the dividend in MKS ? would that not create a bit of an uptrend?
It seems, as usual, that excessive press coverage built up excessive expectations for investors.
Add to that the profit takers, and its hardly surprising the SP has fallen back.
I guess in a week or two it will be back to around the 270-280p mark.
We do still have the Ocado Retail numbers to come on Tuesday - don't forget many M&S customers, like jimjams neighbours around Henley, would have used Ocado for convenience over Christmas.
Indeed JJ, and many will be focusing on the dividend in the end of year results, which may hold the SP back for a while longer. Anyone know what the SP is now set at for Machin's bonus?
Smiler using 'fantastic' was me being sarcastic; every little helps though. It causes investors to see MKS in a fresh light. JJ
I wouldn't call 1p a share a fantastic dividend, but I'll take it (whenever it arrives in my HL account).
However, the wife's sharesave scheme matures on 1st Feb and we maxxed out to buy shares at 82p. Unlike many, we won't be offloading shares anytime soon though.
Fforest, brilliant. I lived for a few years in Macc. JJ
I live in hope but I dont live in Hope.

I also used to be indecisive now I'm not so sure.
Happy divi Friday, dont spend it all at once.
JJ, well said, bit of perspective to all the madness.
We should all pray for peace, love and equality.
At the end of the day that's more important than a few quid lost in shares.
Sorry Toffee fear of War could impact the whole market. As Neil might say I "hope" not.
I love peace and pray for that. JJ
Toffee I strongly believe we will recover this Friday and you can cheer yourself with the fantastic dividend. JJ
