I too have emailed the British Consulate , stressing that as is almost universally the case in any other jurisdiction the body that issues the Exploitation Licence ie Central Goverment cannot be held to ransome by the local interests if they wish to attract investment and consequently benefit from the employment & taxes gnerated. Otherwise what is the point of the Exploitation Licence
British Bulls sez "Stay Short"! With nothing likely to happen till next summer (if then) I can see this sub 1p.
Received a reply from British embassy :-
"Thank you for your message. I am aware of the issues PetroMatad have had in Mongolia and have been in regular contact with PetroMatad senior management throughout my time here. I have raised concerns a number of times with the Mongolian authorities, including recently, regarding the various problems PetroMatad have faced and the impact this has had on their ability to move ahead with their project. We will continue to support PetroMatad where we can.
Yours sincerely,
Philip Malone
Got the same. Seems some sort of automatic reply.
The situation isn't promising!
Any descent CEO would react to all rumours.
Yes, I also received the same copied response from the ambassador. But don't worry. In a month we will need to contact him again and find out if he was able to influence the situation. And if not, then we will need to inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other governmental bodies about it. So, we have to continue our actions to the bitter end!
Manro and Hamm, I know you think you are very important but seriously do you honestly believe that what you are doing will have any impact on the process in Mongolia?
"Any decent CEO would react to the rumours" ,really, any decent CEO , I.e. Mike Buck, is very aware of the situation as outlined by the embassy response and would be doing his job delivering the land permit. Which he will do as soon as possible. You need to remember this is frontier production in a politically young country.
Before you sit behind your keyboard and spill rubbish maybe just think outside the box and realise the world doesn't revolve around you and your narrow focus on a quick dollar. We are building a long term significant company in which the serious investors continue to support.
So although the timeline doesn't suit you , you are more or less irrelevant to the future of the company and we will be just fine without you. We have a billion dollars of oil plus plus and it will be exploited as soon as possible so as many here have said, please just have a cold beer , relax and trust that Mike amd the board are working hard to become Mongolia's future production partner. It's happening and it will be done so just have patience.
In the end it will be alright. If it's not alright it's not the end.
Cheers
Ost
The naivety of some people on here to think an email complaint based on their own pathetic little conspiracies is going to have any impact whatsoever on the complex interactions between PM and the Mongolian government is absolutely laughable. Get a f*cking life and let the actual important people do their jobs.
Ostraliamate, it seems that your frail brains can’t reach in any way that there are people like you who can be mocked for decades, and they will sit and wait, living in the hope that everything will be fine. And there are those who are accustomed not to wait, but to act in order to achieve their goals. Although I am writing about this, I am sure that people like you will never understand this simple truth.
Ost, yes I am important. Everybody is important but you!
If you believe you are nobody then surely you are Not. You can't help it. That is ok then.
I f that is the case!? Tell me what are you bothered to post and participate here? At the end of the day you are Nobody and nobody gives a Fek about you and what you are saying! I know I am somebody and other guys even you care and reply to what I am doing/ saying! So if you care and you think guys like me make difference then reply or get lost! It is simple.
P.S. I would have some beer, but I am working on my six pack!
Guys,
Says it all really. Don't argue with idiots. Good luck.
