Just all shows what a limited mentality shorters have here. i.e. Where they investigate into the sales of aircraft so must feel it that important and then criticize, whilst failing to see that a customer can ask for specific jet engines when ordering their aircraft, failing to realize that what I said was RR service 80% of all aircraft engines that includes makes that they did not make as well. Because they are the no 1 service provider. This is one example of how the three shorts think they are clever but just do not have the experience necessary in life to further their investments. In other words do not have Pedigree, ha,ha. After all Marstons do not only sell their own beer do they? Maybe they feel that is all they do sell. Never mind the points raised have been missed again, but I am pleased they have the time to investigate and feed us back with their new found wisdom!
Teslatool
Just a few friendly points, firstly no one posting on Marsrons boards is really bothered with RR, if they were they would surely post on the RR board, unless they were laughing at your post of course.
You say France is putting kerbs on UK travellers. Wrong again, kerbs are put on the side of a pavement, curbs are what France is putting on UK travellers, so apart from frequently misquoting the number of pubs Marstons has, and chopping out your position in MARS at 50p then telling everyone you had made a fortune on it, you manage to confuse everything yet appear to consider yourself the worlds greatest living expert on the stock market.
Calm down dear, calm down.
Well let me tell you CFM and Pratt and Witney have in my opinion a far greater loss ratio than RR engines. They do not suffer with the same turbo stall or inflight turbo flutter causing vane damage. However RR also service their engines as well at their service centres all around the world at almost every major airport. Perhaps 80% of all commercial jet engines are serviced by RR. Just like Marstons they will benefit tremendously as lockdown ends.
For tonight I see France is also putting kerbs on UK travellers and so helping with Germany people to stay in the Uk and increase UK Beers sales. Thanks to them we will have a better year!
London like barchid I completely agree. Rewarding poor performance is crazy. Remuneration committees tend to be a joke as they engage in a "back-scratching" exercise.
London
I think that is a perfectly reasonable statement, sadly though some poster(s) here will dispute it, He (they) seem to think that selling off most of the brewery and becoming hoteliers is the way to go.
But He (they) are also people who think that selling out at 50p & then being a "strong buy" after a few months when they are north of 90p will go unnoticed.
A funny old world eh ?
Hi all,
I'm not a fan of renumeration for Directors which is not linked to share price or dividends because then there is little alignment with shareholders.
I'd be more than happy to pay them 10 times more if there was a better performance in the long-term share price.
Only my view of course.
I guess we'll have to wait till Teslatool has been called in for a de-brief personally from RF before we will know anything. Nice if you're on the recieving end of free shares, those people with Gratis shares just don't know the true value of them I guess.......
I was surprised to see RF was allocated some.
Why, now he is about to be history, or did the remuneration committee think it was a "no-Brainer"?
I'd have preferred him to receive options if he had avoided the takky taffy pubs frankly.
Any Views on the RNS?
As I understand the execs have taken up options at Nil Cost.
The basis of awards is somewhat opaque. Refers to shareholder value but metrics to determine are yet to be decided by the remuneration committee. Lets hope they are not getting greedy. I am all for performance awards. I would guess most of us here would be happy once the Dividend is returned.
@Barchid. I thought so mate.
@ Fairdealer.
That's what I thought mate.
Trent
Thanks for the google, but I was aware !
Hopefully today the board will stay on topic, it was a good upswing for Mars yesterday on decent volume, but I have to still report that around where I live pubs are perceptibly more quiet than I would have expected, not helped by the weather here, for sure, but it appears in other regions they are going gang busters, so as always, time will tell.
Trent I guess barchid was referring to the Boeing 777
@Barchid.
RE: B777 engines.
I think it depends on the aircraft customer's preferences. Some prefer the RR engines, others prefer the Pratt & Whitney, and others prefer the General Electric ones
I didn't know that, I Googled it.
I think I need to occupy my mind a bit more lol.
This was a strong buy under ninety now I think investors missed the price
YoYoMa
Yes, I agree, really rather sad, especially the midnight rambling....
or maybe non binary became binary either way they're a 2 in my eyes..............
There is something even more peculiar, the tinder lady joined lse on 15 May 2020 and has made very few, 3 or 4, posts in the last month.
Now the 777 (I believe they use Trent engines from RR, not the aforementioned 211's) joined lse on 15 May 2021.
Maybe the nom de plume changes each birthday ?
Note both have gone from "Strong Buy" to "No Opinion". Coincidence????
I've set my alarm for 4am to see what it feels like to get up for a quick keyboard warrior session...... I may press snooze like I do with all the ramblings of SuperDischarger and his one man mission to take a dogecoin to the moon.
FD
Well they both post at nocturnal hours, we did have something similar with the user of Tinder a few months ago if you recall ?
I wonder what the next topic might be, given his revelation that he used to work at Lloyds I suggest asbestosis could be a likely ramble ?
barchid, could they be one and the same person?
Thanks for the pointers
I'm watching Melrose
And heavily invested in RR
Great minds and all that
Be good
The Jimbo
Far be it for me to interrupt the rivetting news re RR & Melrose on the Marstons board but it could be more relevant to investors to know that at 1pm the FT reported that the average volume in MARS was already exceeding the daily average by 60.8%, which I realise is not half as interesting to learn that RB211 engines burn fossil fuels, but it might be relevant to genuine investors in Marstons as opposed to our "Midnight Rambler" and his fantasies.
Both in the Aviation industry. RR when I was at Lloyds working with the Aviation Industry found them to be the most reliable Jet engine and of preference to most Countries airlines (with money). They are/were also the largest service provider for all jet engines across the world using their own service centres to service not only their own but almost all other jet engines too and would have accounted for maybe 80% servicing of all commercial jets in the World. When more get flying definitely one to watch. Melrose too are heavily employed in the AVN Industry as well as now owning GKN who produce the power units for a large no. of elect.cars aswell as motor industry and avn industry -so worth keeping an eye on too. I also hold both. R-R also have in progress new local mini nuclear power stations on offer that could go to local communities where more electric power is required. Allegedly more environmentally friendly than the old RB211 fossil fuel burning rigs, and might become a necessity the way the world is going for electric! Good luck!
