6 million....whopper.
It's deffo a hold to see who this EGI is. Can't be arsed typing eminent gold investor again. ...hmmm.
Well chaps I have to say I was disappointed when I initially read this mornings RNS. Not another bloody fundraising! HOWEVER, the more I’ve thought about it, 'eminent gold investors' don’t come on board unless they are confident they’re onto a good thing. Be very interesting to see who it is (not that I’m familiar with any eminent gold investors!) and there is always the hope they'll bring much needed wider exposure to a very 'under the radar' stock.
My rose tinted specs are definitely on...
RD
The hefty buying is the hefty seller over past 10-14 days buying back his stock!!!
Find it hard to believe the content of today's RNS alone has in itself prompted hefty buying. And today. You'd think logically this was a hold for a couple of months at least to see how things pan out??
Aye aye.....pop out for a few hours and come back to this. What's going on? Was pi ssed off this morning apart from the 'eminent gold investor' . Seems some fairly hefty buying.
I don't get this share.
Chances of large seller being investigated? None. Absolutely none.
This placement hasn't been negotiated/agreed today or yesterday or last week.
They wouldn't have wanted to have been paying 1.2p for 400 million shares. Nearly half that value at 0.675p has a better ring to it.
Probably find the recent large seller is a LTH with a massive holding. To sell several million to achieve a much lower price for a far bigger % quantity of stock & holding - seems a good move.
Is it legal? Probably. Is it ethical? Probably not. Does similar pattern happen often here over the years with fundraising? Yes.
Think it's called 'manipulation' of sp. Easy to organise if you already have a mega holding.
No Sale or JV in the next 3 or 4 months at least, seemingly.. oh well.. my October guess on sale or JV news is therefore pretty unlikely now I concede.. but end Oct /early Nov a possibility still I guess, as most drilling activity will be earlier rather than later in coming months I'd expect.. ahead of winter etc..
Aside : what are the chances of the recent largeish seller being investigated for selling on inside info. re the discounted placing ahoy.. tiny I'd guess...
at least they now have meaningful funds to further progress the evaluation of the resource(s).. so instead of limbo some further 'progress' will be made.. but for at least the next 3 to 4 months I'd guess it will be reasonably quiet in terms of s/p movements here .. so likely i'll not sell or buy any more of these and just mostly forget about my current holding until mid
Autumnish..
(unless it goes to .5's p from some punchy selling to bet elsewhere with little interest in corresponding buying around this time.. i'd top up then.. but my guess is this won't go under .60p over summer .. and if any good news in late summer from early drilling outputs this might even rally a bit then..)
Dirkus,
That was always my view and why I had hoped for a JV rather than sale. The reason I came to appreciate Mads views re sale was due to the time v balance argument. I know no one forced me to become a LTH but I have, in fact, become a VLTH and probably more a VFLTH. (F for frustrated btw)
I follow other shares and have seen JV’s agreed when the junior company has proved up far less than Landore have done. You have to give credit in that they have moved BAM pretty quickly (in mining terms) for a small company. My concern is that 4 years in other terms is a long time and another 4 years, with dilution, to prove another million is not acceptable in investing terms. So yes I agree but what exactly is the ‘long run’. I sincerely hope (and I know I am like a stuck record) that we are just shy of the cut off point that would allow an agreement and and associated fast track, multi drill exploration IF it is JV rather than outright sale.
UR
.................and always having meetings held in Guernsey doesn't make it easy for the small investor to pop along and ask some questions.
Well there's now over 2 billion shares in circulation (incl Options). There is a ceiling anyone would pay for a gold asset no matter how many million ozs (especially when the grades aren't anything like bonanza). I would bet the ownership of majority shares now rests with less than 6 individuals. And the private investor(s) in total hold very little.
That would be in marked contrast to days gone by when the PI would have held far more % wise of the Co. They have just added into circulation over 400 million shares. Think the total in circulation for the whole Co when I first invested was less 100 million. I don't think they are that interested in social media (FFS Bill doesn't even respond to emails sent to him from PIs). This is now effectively a Private Company owned & controlled by a few individuals.
Plus on a positive note....Bill has always maintained he is on side of small investor. So if....we were looking at 2p or so he clearly feels the value is much more than that. And importantly believes the resource has huge potential. You don't find a Picasso in yr loft and flog it for 100k later to find it's real worth is millions!
Do we think 6 months of drilling? Length and importantly depth?
May well be worth it in the long run.
Well let's hope the new investors will come out via TR-1'S. Or at least the eminent investor starts making noises to increase exposure to Landore. Or get their mates interested!
I also think we could do with a bit more of a modern approach and embrace social media to a degree. I don't want jam tomorrow crap that some companies constantly put out....but something now and then would be beneficial to lth and attract new investors. Gold on a high....when you mention LND on twitter noone has heard of us. Love or loathe social media it's they way it is these days.
Hi Mads,
Yeah I agree with your sentiments. I suppose a key issue is this. Like last year, (but very unlike previous years) we have had this period from Feb to June without news. Does this mean that negotiations have been taking place for two years on the trot and have failed to agree terms at the moment.
If so, how close are we. This, for me, is the key issue as if we are miles away yet it is not good. However, for all we know we could be close. (Comment in RNS about significant gold investor is interesting) I appreciate that the company can’t comment on this so it’s a call for the individual shareholder as to wether he holds. Or sells.
I know what I am going to do.
UR
I suppose this was always a distinct possibility. Especially given how long the lack of any news was. And the sudden selling recently which was suspicious to say the least. Word always seems to get out before anything official announced.
Disappointing to have to give away just shy of 25% of day's value of the Company to give cash flow for 6 months. But I guess needs must. And it'd been nice to have been told when the drilling was likely to start and when how long it'd likely take.
Reassuring to have a "eminent gold investor" on board. Pity it's taken 15 years. With 25% more shares in circulation I guess that lowers the potential Offer price we can expect IF they find a buyer eventually.
Will we now see the traders from the past few weeks head for the exit door?? Unlikely now anything significant will happen to the sp for at least 6 months.
At least I know why we are at @only@ 1 mn ounces resource. I suspect they ran out of cash before sufficient infill was completed to prove up the 1.4 mn which was what we expected.
I can only presume that the additional infill now scheduled should bring us to that figure however the biggie is wether the planned step outs / exploration drilling continue to return figures on a par with BAM. Good to see the deep stuff is still going ahead.
My take has not changed. Interested party in the wings but we have not passed their threshold figure (confirmed ounces), and/or adequately shown the additional potential of that multi ounce resource that management are convinced we are sat on.
End of new campaign. Results as expected ..... then game on imo.
Rose tinted...maybe?Maybe not.....
I am a hold.
UR
To be honest they seem to have raised the money easy enough. Dilution an issue but new investors and the eminent gold investor sounds intriguing. At least we can get on with it.
I guess we were hoping for buyout or JV.
I am just starting to digest it Dirkus......
Flipping heck.
Positives being
We are delighted with the outcome of the fundraising, which has received good support from new and existing investors together with an eminent gold investor.
Wonder who that is?
