I started this fantasy portfolio in 2016 to challenge various posters perception that Lloy is 'the worst share ever', 'better else where' or a 'dire share',
On the 8th Oct 2016 I invited WL/Newchurch to choose an alternative ftse 100 company so I could run a comparison
On 8th Oct 2016 - 1000 quid bought 206 BP. shares & 1905 Lloy shares
Today's value
BP. 206 @ 293 = 604
Lloy 1905 @ 29 = 552
In April 2017 Invest4life suggested I add Glencore -
On 22-4-17 - 1000 quid bought 335 Glen shares & 1553 Lloy shares
Today's value
Glen 335 @ 171 = 574
Lloy 1553 @ 29 = 450
In July 2017 Nucky suggested I add RBS/Natwest -
On 12-7-17 1000 quid bought 384 Nwg & 1512 Lloy

Today's value

Lloy 3367 @ 29 = £976
This weeks observation - As world Covid cases rise more counties are removed from air corridor list, more lockdown measures lifted, teachers cynically play political games with exam results
A very basic comparison that does no include divi yield, IMO those still suggesting Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dire share' seriously need to examine their concept of investing.

"Without C19 I doubt very much that we would have even reached J46's rock bottom price of 48p (WTO trading with the EU)"
Over the last 3 yrs folk have come on this forum and thanked me for my posted links and observations . They made deductions that saved them money .
You , on the other hand , are pressuring folk into buying lloy , when it still hasn't reached its trough , so they feel your pain , you truly are a vile human being ! I'm glad to see everyone bar Falkland has seen through you !
As for Falkland , he did tell us every village needs one , the chosen one ! Not the brightest bulb in the pack .He'll wake up one day .
I see you still haven't confirmed you'd match my EOY charity contribution !you're just a charlatan .
Everyone will see through you eventually !
Keep averaging down .
See you @ 23p .

Totally agree Oska -
Q2 Underlying £3.5bn profit was a very respectable result - similar result during the 2nd half of the year may see room for a small 2020 divi with end of year results?
Still want my 2019 tho lol
2020 Results
Q1 Underlying £0.56bn Pre tax £0.074bn post tax £0.48bn
Q2 Underlying £3.5bn Pre tax loss £0.6bn post tax £0.19bn
projected results
Q3 Underlying £6.0bn
Q4 Underlying £8.0bn

At the height of the Covid outbreak the country faced a huge unknown threat - lockdown imposed, Nightingale hospitals built and PRA banned divi's - can be argued they were all the right things to do at that time,
But time has moved on - we have learnt to protect ourselves, lockdown lifted, Nightingales mothballed, Banks have sufficient reserves
PRA say they will review the Ban in the 4th quarter - ie Oct - Dec
As I said to my MP - If the Gov want the likes of me to 'Eat to help' ect the PRA need to allow a modest return on my investments - no income = minimal spending
Lloyds Bank may again beat profit forecasts in the not too distant future ......
Lloyds chief executive António Horta-Osório said the group had “delivered a strong and sustainable financial performance, with increased profits and returns and continued strong capital build”.
He added: “These results further demonstrate the strength of our business model and the benefits of our low risk, customer focused approach.
The business model is still there!
"Seriously - What does it take to lift Lloy?"

''45p+....in 2020......dyor
65p+....in 2021.....dyor''
Nothing to research. All down to what the landscape looks like post C19.
So just guess workat the moment as to when/if a vaccine becomes widely available.
Lloyds would of course greatly benefit from such a breakthrough.
Without C19 I doubt very much that we would have even reached J46's rock bottom price of 48p (WTO trading with the EU)
Yep, fully understand Asp1.
Could take your life over!!
I do a similar analysis within my own portfolio.
Compassion would be a good start and enthusiasm
Seriously -
* BoE - recession not so severe as feared but recovery may take longer,
* UK Banks have sufficient reserves raising hope divi ban will be lifted,
* House sales enjoy mini boom
Seriously - What does it take to lift Lloy?
Thanks for your interest Selecta - as the list is already becoming laborious to update each week think I'll decline to make additions at this time
Hi Asp1,
Only just arrived here, since looking to add Ll to portfolio.
A nice touch your fantasy portfolio.
I'm sure that you don't want the world and his wife suggesting shares to add, else it will become a full-time job for you.
However, are you sticking to FTSE 100 stocks?
If not, how about adding Aston Martin (AML) from 250 index, and an AIM stock. Eurasia Mining (EURA)?
Both are currently very topical, and boomeranging all over the place.
Fully appreciate, that you may not consider outside 100, or wish to grow this exponentially!!
