My understanding of the UT is it is determined by the orders outstanding or something like that? There was one pretty big trade! Two price monitoring extensions.
does anyone knows what second price monitoring means ??
Daily UT trade stated as only 122. Very unusual price action.
Aby, et al, Indeed. LAD spiked in last 5 mins. However, day volume only average. No big buys reported. What will be interesting if no news to back the spike & give impetus to further rises, will market allow profit taking at 130+ tomorrow? Hmmm. GLA.
Second Price Monitoring Extension...before setting the final closing price...
Price monitoring RNS ... New one on me however let's hope ithere's more to come tomorrow
this was so odd???? maybe it was just big purshase 1500000 share
but it was good
What just happened?
Kamel17 - got it in one - at least v-a-v the CEO. 5 years wasted indeed - in fact worse than that, as the competition have kicked on so the gap has widened. Compare and contrast with Topping's term (who was very much second choice for the Hills role IIRC). There is no comparison, clearly, and yet LADS had every opportunity to do the same, or better. Sad, and particularly so for the many good people who lost out as a result. Get it bought, bring some strategic direction and execution.
This has been my worst investment of all time. I had genuinely expected that even the thoroughly hapless Glynn would presided over the delivery of some sort of upturn by now. CVC have been sniffing around this since 2009 and the low SP, availability of cheap money would suggest that a takeout is likely (should they want to do so) at an SP not very far north of this. I would have preferred that PTEC had a bash in their own right- however this just does not seem likely for a raft of reasons. There needs to be an appointment od someone with real insight and enthusiasm for the online offering. The hapless and idiotic Glynn just bottled every opportunity and held this company back by five years
See I said I should follow you. SP's often fall post large one day rises. Anyway I have expanded the graph so the drop is less steep! Unfortunately I more of a buy and hold type even though most of our shares are similar, no ANTO for me though. Not seen the news re any takeover so might have to go for a search, while I wait to collect the divis, which should be slightly higher now with those extra shares. If only they can keep them.
Gerry, genuinely pleased for you & all LAD holders. Hope this continues rising for you & GL with a decent exit should you take profits. :o) No regrets here as done well enough with ANTO, LAD, CNA & 1 MRW's tranche (out of 3) recently. Still hold 2 MRW & 1 CNA, latter also in profit. Now looking for markets to calm down a bit before I enter some new long positions. All the best!
Jack, to err is human as they say and a profit is a profit. Up nearly 7% today so maybe I should have joined you. With a rise like that and it doent even make the leader board for risers on the day but it looks like Mr Market is lifting all boats. Wots that saying about Greeks bearing gifts!
Thanks. Will also keep an eye on VED for any dips. If you can, maybe keep an eye on ANTO for any reverse there to well under 700. Another VG trading stock. - All the best!
Welldone mr , have a look at ved on next retract
Buy from 26 Nov as posted here. Reasons: target reached. Also, seen this fall back at these levels too many times previously. I may be early taking profits, but LAD's rise today & gains across markets, seems as much galvanized by surprise RBA interest rates cut as anything else. As long as macro uncertainties remain, no way of being confident that market will hold all these gains. GLA! - Very profitable day for JD elsewhere, so will be glad to see this continue rising for others.
Gerry, we've all been there at some time, I'm sure. I recall wanting to buy more MRW's at 181+ for a short-term spread-bet. In my rush, I ending buying another stock at 181 whose ticker started with M. I sold for a small hit on the spread immediately. :o). LAD's SP range-bound, with recent resistance at 117+, then 120+. A new CEO announcement should certainly improve our chances of breaking that, then return to 120+ levels, however brief any rise. If we can do it before a new CEO, even better. http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/prices-and-markets/stocks/exchange-insight/technical-analysis.html?fourWayKey=GB00B0ZSH635GBGBXSTMM I'll probably take my profits at 120+, just to be sure. - All the best.
Oops misread it was over 116p so not as good as I thought in the end. Maybe I should stick to building snowmen and forget shares until the sun shines. A blind fat fingered investor .............. maybe I should get a job with Goldman Sachs
The deal went through at just over 111p so not as bad as first feared. Could have sold at a profit then first thing Monday morning instead of looking at how the mistake was made.
Putting it like that, Yes, at least you have a small chance of beating the house. I think with the bank it takes yours! I can find reasons why all investments are unethical although some are worse than others although its really difficult to find the real picture. I try to do my "bit" and have even invested in so called green energy in wind/solar farms. Even so covering food growing land with energy sources does grate with me a bit. At least here, they are trying to do their bit too with that new scheme for "responsible gambling" Should have added to that windfarm instead of mistakenly adding here. Buy high sell low isnt working for me right now
Gerry 557 at least these are more ethical than a bank investment.
It appears I topped up on some of these last Friday after leaving an auto buy in place according to an email. Well that auto buy has been turned off. I suppose it might have something to do with playing with a new brokers software. Im getting quite fat fingered as of late! Anyway the SP was up in the 115's so maybe not a great deal although its only a small increment. I suppose I could sell them to put the cash back (it was just sitting in the pot awaiting an opportunity) Then again it might be worth holding for the divi. I wasnt planning to add to these just yet and Mrs G would prefer me not to hold gambling stocks. Whilst I tend to agree, ethics is always difficult when investing.
PS: Major fund BlackRock reducing yesterday (RNS out today) obviously hasn't helped. - Cheers!
Thanks for cautionary note re VED. Re LAD: for now, strong resistance at circa 118. However, despite some reverse, I anticipate possible support just below these levels. But we'll want that all-important confirmation next week. If we finish below 115 with volume, it could well fall back much lower again. When we have a crack at 118 again, if we look like falling back once more, I'll probably take some profit off the table. All the best!
