Great result on W C final match betting ,plus the first goal scorer , the extra time opened a new book Got to have been A great World Cup - pity England didn't stay in - but betting up for sure
I hope "PLEASED" is a strong enough word to start lifting the price
"Ladbrokes, Britain's second-largest bookmaker, said it was pleased with the amount of business it had seen during the World Cup and with customer reaction to its mobile app. "We take a lot of confidence from the brand's strength and its performance when supported by a strong digital product," said Ladbrokes spokesman Ciaran O'Brien.
Obviously said bounce didn't last long. Main thing still is that all-time low of 128.30 holding. - Cheers.
Nice bounce to 134.80 so far. Hopefully some consolidation later today & closer to 140 next week, then I'll review. GLA.
2reincarnated, maybe. Only a fool would completely rule 120 out. From my side, slightly encouraging that despite the sharp price reverse these past few weeks, the 52-week low of 128.30 just held. However, probably over-optimistic holding this for 150+ again in view of recent falls, so may review my targets accordingly. GL.
like I said im my earlier post, just a matter of time.
Back in at 129.50 as just above previous support levels & 52 week low (128.30). Not without risk, but target similar to last time. GLA!
"I keep seeing the price drop and yet I keep getting told that more investors are buying than selling.... so I just don't get it?" ============================== Gojo62, those claiming that are at least misinformed. Not all buys & sells are recorded on public websites immediately. Some sells are hidden. If SPs go down, it means selling pressure is greater & buyers are being tempted by a falling SP. If buying pressure was greater, then SPs will rise to tempt sellers. For markets to work every buy needs a sell, vice versa. One can't buy what isn't being sold. Orders have to match up by day's end. - Hard to call a low here as just dipped under 130 again, but I've bought back. GL.
If the dividend can be maintained (probably a big IF) then these are looking like a bargain. Have to say my optimism is being tested and hope we get an update of performance post World Cup. Listened to a guy on the radio today who reckoned bookies didn't get of to a good start but after opening rounds have been winning. Time will tell.
I keep seeing the price drop and yet I keep getting told that more investors are buying than selling.... so I just don't get it?
and from there who knows!!!
general interest in betting on the World Cup seems higher this year. just a hunch.
"Nadal out ... Sharapova out. A few more like this please" ================== Now add Murray.
Nadal out ... Sharapova out. A few more like this please
Lummox u are joking? Bookies have confirmed that most of the wagered bets when England was in the tournament was for them to lose!! Punters are up
Glad I'm out, but surprised to see this went sub-140 so soon again, esp with a few Summer sport fests in full swing. Doesn't exactly augur well for coming weeks. - GLA.
Something else going on I think. Spain and England going out is good news for the bookies. William Hill SP slightly up. One day I'll work out how this market works - still confident that come the end of the summer Lad will be in a better place.
England going out the world cup initially will appear to be a good result for Ladbrokes. But this early exit will cut interest from punters as the tournament progresses. Another bit of ' luck ' Ladbrokes share holders did'nt need
How long before we will find out if Ladbrokes new online betting has closed the gap on its rivals, lets face it, if they have the share price should recover but if its a flop maybe its got a lot farther to fall.
Ladbrokes has been a slow starter in regard to online, but they have the might and clout to catch up and conquer. I bought in last week. lets see
Also LAD's seen some strong resistance at circa 154+ over the past few months. That doesn't mean it won't breakout later, but for any stock to get past resistance points it usually needs fresh good news to muster sufficient buying momentum. Glad to be on the sidelines again. GLA.
that was the price pre budget tax so that might be difficult. Not sure how much more give this has with the new funding via bonds. Not sure I would be happy with 170 "quickly" but I suppose it depends on how long is quickly, less than 3 months?
in my view we can move quickly to 170 pence good luck all
I think there are better ' bets ' ! in the sector. NETPLAY TV for instance is in rude health, growing its subscriber base and heavy booked advertising around the time of the World Cup, also has a good cash position & rising dividend. Odds / On compared to Ladbrokes I reckon
