It's hard to fault your logic and there's nothing wrong with taking profit.
I've topsliced again here, as like you, I want more cash, but momentum still seems ok, so I'm continuing to hold otherwise.
I'd like to do the same with my other holdings but most of them are well down and I don't want to lock in the losses.
I suspect I might be forced too though.
I've bought and sold Kainos several times since they first floated on the stock market. However, I sold my current holding today to bank some profit. I still think they're a well-run outfit that will continue to be profitable in the long-term but am nervous about their current, high valuation and whether the government will still be able to spend on things like digitisation if tax receipts start to drop (during any potential recession). While digitisation is probably the way forward, I'm concerned projects could be put on hold for a period and this could impact Kainos' bottom line. If the share price drops by a reasonable amount over the next few months, I might jump in again but a profit is a profit (especially when a lot of my other stocks are still under water!) GLA and DYOR.
The solitary riser in my 15 stock PF today.
Ooh, my aching wallet!
This seems to have decent momentum at least (crosses fingers).
Yay!!
I'm back in the money :-)
Just posted an analysis of Kainos Group plc : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEr89x5HSjQ
Kainos have a strong track record and currently at a 20% discount to pre corona levels look like a credible defensive stock. On deeper scrutiny - I found that they are heavily dependant on the UK government as their main cash cow and as they reach an inflection point in revenues from the public sector their future success relies on their ability to generate increased revenues from the corporate sector in a challenging expansion into North America and Europe.
Their recent trading update was full of mixed messages and so they are not a clear winner but are nevertheless certainly in contention as a good defensive stock pick.
Oops, I mean almost back to my buy-in price at Xmas.
I forgot this had risen very nicely and I topsliced.
Amost back to pre Covid prices.
Come on, you can do it! :-)
Not sure why. Checked with company and the senior execs are still not being paid and the new accommodation is still on hold. Price being supported by small buyers. Wait till we get progress news.
Nice rise today!
Looks like the virus is now affecting KNOS. Can't see anything positive happening till the lockdown is over and everyone is back to work.
really well.
Let's hope I haven't jinxed it.
Looks like I was lucky with my timing there!
the 17% profit I've had out of this in 5 weeks, as surely it has to be due a correction?
I should have done the same with HOTC in hindsight, but oh well.
I'm looking to add if this falls back significantly, as it surely has to be in a very decent position?
Price rise seems to have been caused by Brexit being finalized. A lot of NHS contracts were suspended due to Brexit uncertainty; some of these contracts will now be allocated to Knos. Happy days!
What a great performance today. Decent volume also.
the market was not exactly impressed with that RNS. I bought at over £6 and now wonder whether to just take the loss or sit it out for years.
why are touy trek or anyone- why the unstoppable fall in the sp?
trek any idea why the sp has been falling?
If it drops below £5 i’ll Buy if not will wait. This one will imo do well whatever govt is in office or Brexit as nhs spend should increase. Trek seeking value
Still happy with the price ?
Any idea why the decline ?
agree, bought at the end of the day and happy with the price. one to tuck away.
on opening. Not one of my better decisions. Think prospects are pretty good however, Hope so !
Been watching this since £5.90, expecting a retrace to sub £6 for ages now. Been totally wrong congrats to all holders on a lonely board proving the rest of us wrong. I'm in DCTA, similar experience. Nice feeling guys well done! Trek
