They launched a new detector this morning, keep buying!
Kromek, the designer and manufacturer of radiological and biological detectors, based in Sedgefield Co. Durham, today launches its new generation RayMon detector. This is a high-performance handheld spectrometer with a set of interchangeable probes: CZT, NaI and Alpha Beta. It is ideal for protecting critical national infrastructure such as nuclear power stations or military installations and for security screening, civil defence, homeland security or peace keeping/peace support operations. It is portable, easy to deploy and can undertake previously-lab-based spectral analysis directly in the field with speed and precision.
The new generation RayMon has a built-in library of 94 radionuclides, to which custom nuclides can be added. Key information such as dose rate and counts per second can be viewed on the Dose Screen in real-time. In Search Mode, the clear visual graphs indicate when count rate is increasing or decreasing, directing the user to the location of the source. All reports and data files on the RayMon can either be exported onto a USB or shared via email.
Enhancing the RayMon’s capabilities are three additional probes: a high resolution CZT probe, a high sensitivity NaI (sodium iodide) smart probe and an Alpha Beta smart probe.
The CZT probe provides precise identification of radionuclides, even when faced with mixed or shielded sources. With its small form factor, operation at room temperature without the need for cooling, and direct conversion, the CZT Probe is a cost-effective and user-friendly alternative to HPGe detectors. Its small form factor alleviates the difficulty of taking measurements in hard-to-reach areas.
The NaI probe is designed for collecting count data in low-dose environments. The high sensitivity and efficiency of the 2” x 2” Sodium Iodide (NaI) crystal ensures even the weakest sources can be detected. Taking measurements in narrow areas is facilitated by the incorporation of silicon photomultiplier technology into Probe, giving the device its small form factor. The probe also includes a high dose sensor to ensure that measurements continue to be taken when the NaI probe becomes saturated with counts.
The Alpha Beta probe transfers Alpha or Beta count data onto the RayMon screen but can also store detector and calibration information itself. Its small size and lightweight build means the device can be used comfortably in one hand, with the RayMon in the other, for extended amounts of time.
Ahead of the launch of the new generation RayMon, Craig Duff, Kromek’s Commercial Director of Radiation and Nuclear Products, said: “The new generation RayMon is the most advanced detector designed specifically for the protection of critical national infrastructure. It is a product of the innovation of our in-house scientists and engineers who are able to respond quickly to meet new customer requirements.”
The new generation RayMon will
Spot on Skid.
I think bigger and uglier shareholders than us have not been happy and they've made it known.
If you value the 'CEO' for his vision and IP you have to surround them with the right people who can actually run the bits Basu is clearly no good at.
Next results are pivotal with no excuses, that's why I'm more confident. It also helps that the chairman and major holders have been increasing.
Disappointingly, I've only managed to pick up less than 100,000 shares today at under 6.5p. The price has moved quickly up from the 6.3p first buy this morning.
Dab.
With this type of CEO you need a really good chairman and cfo, the two old ones were just useless - in particular the old cfo who has presided over a fall from 80p to 10p where he went aferwards, got the boot with a tonne of options. He should never be allowed near a public company and should be stripped of his letters.
Do sense the new chair and cfo have instilled some business and financial discipline on the CEO and stopped his flights of fancy - next accounts key to seeing this discipline but unfortunately a lot of damage has been done.
As a shareholder High-Roller you could write to the Chairman and ask him why you should have faith in the CEO and the c.£3m he has been paid for effectively diluting and devaluing the company over the last 10 years. I'd be very interested in his response but I'm sure he would be looking to the future rather than the past.
I first invested here at around 70p back in 2013. I have been here for over 10 years, I have traded in and out and I am probably down £20k. Personally I blame the investment bank that prepared the prospectus and the float price, I blame myself for believing the hype, I blame Basu for running with it all these years and not saying at the beginning it was going to be tough to deliver to expectations. So, I topped up base on Basu's rose tinted view of the world and have been stung for several rights issues on the back of 'ramping up production', 'needing scale to crack markets'.
However, I look at the products now, I look at the distribution now and I look at the improving revenues and finally some focus on cost management and I see an opportunity again.
The price has done what I, and probably most of us expected, and has fallen back from the 7.5-8p spike on the back of the recent RNS, so I am buying now, not because of the past but because of the future opportunity.
Why don't shareholders vote to have a extraordinary meeting and vote Basu off?
I don't understand
He really is just an arrogant, deluded idiot.
So where does he think he'd get the money for designing and manufacturing ventilators, writing off £10m plus, paying his salary ? it is very difficult raising capital in the private markets, zero with his track record.
We long term "investors" have learned to our cost that the rather smug self loving Basu has always had nothing but contempt for those who supported Kromek over the last decade. Such a pity this man has not justified his massive pride in himself as the sp has collapsed. Only "new kids on the block" and one or two "camp followers" here continue to predict that Kromek is a good investment.
is anyone aware basu said on
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/kromek-boss-might-not-have-listed-technology-company-on-aim-850l8h9b0
he might not have listed on aimee because he is frustrated that the value hasn't been recognised?!!
wow. totally dissed his shareholders. what a ****. unbelievable thing to say.
We keep hearing the word excellent in the context of Kromek. It is never followed by other than a dip in the sp.There must be a lot of idiots out there failing to invest here OR !!!!
And in the same month sold a Kmk CZT Veriton CT scanner
to a cancer Hospital in Paris.
It's great to see these sales and looks a sure ongoing repeat contract for Kmk.
Looking fwd to hearing some news soon re the Philips and Analogic development progress and then my guess Fujifilm next?

Looks like Spectrum Dynamics have just installed their first US Veriton CZT CT scanner. hopefully many more to follow
I saw Thier adverts and news as they built up the sales team and service centres across the states last year.

Kromek hails 'excellent momentum' after US security deal - North East Times Magazine
https://netimesmagazine.co.uk/technology/kromek-hails-excellent-momentum-after-us-security-deal/
12.8 million worth of orders since Oct 23, I would say kmk doing OK.
Yes - nice to see further RNSs.
Key is what level of revenue is P&L (real P&L not EBITDA where they capitalise R&D and then take out the amortisation) breakeven point and cash sustainability.
Hopefully 100% focus on cash and bottom line. I can see Basu getting excited, loosing focus and mucking about with projects that suck cash.
We've had an interesting 30% rise in the last two weeks, on no news until todays release. I'm wondering if we're becoming a little leaky. That said, do I care, no. Not if the price is rising.
I am becoming more bullish here. Whilst none of the contracts announced in the last 12 months move the dial significantly, added up there is a significant boost to revenue. Re-reading the cavendish report (50p remember) I see no reason why we're not on track for this year. I move my own view from hold to buy and will start adding again once we drift down from this RNS. I own 0.1% here, and will move to 0.2 % pretty quickly.
With global equities at a high KMK should benefit from wider shareholders looking for opportunities (as should Newmark Security as previously tipped on this board at 50p - now 85p - I own 3.1% of that smaller business).
Good luck all.
Another very positive RNS and good to read about the ‘excellent momentum’, long may it continue.
Kind thanks Jasonsax

Nice 1000000 buy after time
Nice 1000000 buy after time
It doesn't say it is CZT and I doesn't say it isn't
But there should be some news soon from all the development work announced
