Huge show of confidence :D
Everyone has an agenda. If you're not invested or looking to invest then why are you posting here. You're certainly not adding any value just seem to be trying to spook investors / potential investors.
Bigpunt earlier "FWIW I have no position in Kier, and I have shorted in the past when the previous exec were in place. " My interpretation would be that you either are: Shorting (and lying about it) or looking to Short. Everyone has an agenda and I don't trust yours.
Nobby, who is "they"? If you are referring to government, you'd need to explain why.
There is no benefit to a local/central government's contractor going to the wall, but equally there is no incentive to customers in forward-funding a struggling business
DJ, can I only comment if it agrees with your view?
There's no way they will let that happen to another big Construction & Infrastructure Company! Didnt they put some safeguarding in after Carillion?
Orders books a plenty but yes you need to convert to profit and cash.
Bigpunt, you misspelled your handle.
"FWIW I have no position in Kier". In that case, do one and stop spamming your carp on this board.
Carrington and West, the share is priced to go bust. The only question should be whether it can trade its way out of this place. From the financial statements I have been reviewing, they cannot generate cash. I wouldn't get too excited about the total value of the order book - Carillion's was still growing when they were doomed - it is more important to review working capital at this stage. FWIW I have no position in Kier, and I have shorted in the past when the previous exec were in place. I am even less impressed with Kesterton
I completely agree with you ( Carrington ). If someone was looking for value stock with the transparency of forward projects and earnings, KIER would be up there top of the list.
I don't understand the unhealthy interest of some on the site, yes the glass can be either half full or half empty, depending on your view, but not near empty when nearly full!!!!
Hey Bigpunt - UK locked into infrastructure build going forward and contracts for Keir secured with a good possibility of more down the line - director just bought in - I am assuming he knows more than you do matey - I bought in here at 59.5p based on low debt and inflation reducing (relevant commodity prices ie oil, gas etc have fallen around 30pct in the last 6 months so futures prices will play out next year and reduce overall inflation to near zero - even Andrew Bailey said that) - on this basis Keir is massively oversold - let's see who is right
gl dyor etc
Kier is such an amazing company. They nearly go bust, raise significant equity, still cannot generate cash flow but pay out large bonuses to the exec! "Performance is expected to be second-half weighted" just means they will put pressure on customers on supply chain to maximise their cash position for YE and they will ramp their WIP numbers. This company has always suffered from aggressively chasing revenue. Priced to go bust, I would assume it will happen in the next 2 years
"trading in line with the Board's expectations"
The market these days always takes that as a big negative. Never understood why
Reasonable trading update today and what I expected, shares down which seems to be the order of the day atm if a company meets its expectations - happy to hold here and add more on weakness
gla dyor etc
Positive headlines, the bosses want their pay rises! Make sure you read past the first paragraph
Trading statement or update due tomorrow - what will that bring I wonder :)
Decided to dip my toe in here - the company looks sound to me with good contracts won and pitching hard for others - I think the sell off has been overdone and will look to add on further weakness
gla dyor etc
crossed above 20DMA low 60s.
Trading Update on Thursday. Could fly. Might not! I've added at these levels but not hugely confident although think it's undervalued at the moment. B/E now around 100. Going to be an interesting week.
Can it break out??
Yes deff undervalued
A £400m contract has been awarded to construction company Kier who will start building a new “super prison” in Yorkshire this autumn for up to 1,440 men.
It was obviously a positive day all around for stocks yesterday. It was comforting to see the bounce in the SP with some notable buys. This indicates the oversold status in SP. There's a realization generally and more notably by institutional investors that there is value at these levels. Long may it last.
some resistance at 62p. thats the next test.
CPI data helping consumer stocks. but not all stocks are up. oil stocks look weak. KIE nice bit of blue. feeling quite good about my buy couple days ago.
Nice bit of blue buying; some really big buys the other day but then loads of selling - I'm really confused on this share. However, managed to fill up again, and will continue to do so....... happy hunting
I can accept all of your last post, but please don't refer to me as 'Dude's
Catch up again in a couple of years? I will put a new battery in the clock. See if that helps.
My dear fellow, you are such a do gooder, a wonderful white knight on these pages! You may be more similar to me than you would like to admit!
Who is to say I don't have an interest? Have said many times, I don't provide a commentary on what my positions are on any share, two reasons 1. It makes no difference, 2.None of your business and 3 You wouldn't believe me if I told you.
As for countering misinformation, well, again, who is to say I don't provide a noble service to counter all the silly "this is going to rocket" "this will be xx next week/month/year.
I have never offered advice, you however dispense advice on a very regular basis, naughty naughty.
No, we are similar in many ways, but for a big difference; ou are a self confessed loser, I on the other hand am a genius at this game.
Anyway, this time I really do have to go, so goodbye for now, enjoy your losings and fare well dude.
Meta, I drop in on this board occasionally just to see whats happenning as I have an interest in this company. As a rule I would only post to counter the comments by those who are not, and seem to think its worthwhile making negative comments when it suits there ego. Some may believe that you have some insight. So your claims need to need countered.
I would never give advice, I have lost far more than i have gained over the years.
I started my working life with French Kier so I have always followed their evolution. Thats my interest.
I will, however, always seek to counter the charlatans i come across. Even if life is too short!
