Harmony is a wonderful ideology, but rarely achieved. When you have half the posters on here wanting the share price to increase and the other half wanting it to decrease. There is undoubtably going to be friction. Money is very emotive! Especially in relation to the ones that fake their position or motives. Unfortunately there is no way to tell who is telling the truth, other than to build up a long term picture. I have met a lot of the long term posters here at the AGM and they are a very decent bunch indeed and most, regularly post here. Harmony is utopia, but rarely achieved. Money is very big driver and often changes or influences a persons character.
Herororoic, can you do me a favour and step back for a minute and read your last post and recognise it was inflammatory and likely to cause reaction and argument? We're talking about trying to stop all that and have proper discussions and there you are lighting fires again. Discuss the share please, all you want, but let's not relitigate or try to settle scores from months or years ago. Can you do that?
No Ric, Bushy was a complete idiot. Look how HUM worked out.
Chupapie
I am very bullish about Jubilee's prospects but do agree that mistakes were made.
The problem appears to be that certain posters are focusing on the mistakes made without acknowledging that future prospects look good but vice versa certain posters do not acknowledge that mistakes have been made and can only see the wonderful way forward.Your post is correct and I hope those who post on this board take up your suggestions
I posted previously Heroric the mistake I made was not selling half of my holding when it was 21p as I believed the copper tailings strategy partly my fault I was greedy and partly JLP as they failed to deliver on it.
Having said that when it dropped to 5p or a little higher. I would definitely have bought it all back purely on the success of the chrome and then would consider the new copper strategy to be a real bonus.
It is investing everyone is different. Kalan clearly stated his strategy in a previous post. I think frogkid buys and sells but has a large holding that he is in for the long term (correct me if I am wrong frogkid).
There will be many long term holders both in profit and underwater. Whether I lost all my stake here doesn't material affect me but I would like to see a substantial profit just like everyone does whatever their investment strategy.
No big deal to me you are out at the moment. If you are happy to let it drift to look for an opportunity to get in your choice but if they announce Roan is up and running and you miss out on a rise your loss but if that makes you and more people more confident of investing then that's fine. Nothing wrong with being cautious on aim I have both benefitted and been burnt on aim shares in the past. No-one gets it right all the time.
Kalan I wouldnt sweat it, i learned the hardway not to be tricked into things by gotreal et al and there buy buy buy mantra regarless of when, current sp or news. As I said, I am also out now (lessons learnt from holding when I shoud have sold or buying into the ramping. Personally, I (and I suspect others) would have done a lot better here had they heeded Bushy's warnings - whom got reals m,any faces bullied off the board disgracefully and seemed to take a sick pleasure when another share Bushy had fell. They were like a pack of dogs. YES at the moment I expect the price to fall back a bit due to the delay though think 5.5p was the bottom. Longer term I think there is money to be made IF they deliver copper and dont them immediately jump on some other mass project or pivot, sucking up all the money (as they often do) resulting in it stayting jam tomorrow. I dont think that makes me or others a bad people. Its called investing to make money whcih is kinda the point. Fighting the tide and deynying relality in the hope of duping people to buy when you know fine well it is likely to have a lull doesnt sit well with me tbh.
I see Kalan wants in at a lower SP
Frogkid,
You have far more skin in the game than I and are perfectly entitled to your opinion. No company in history has got it right and it is important to learn from their errors.
One example with JLP that gotreal posted yesterday regarding how they have anticipated water and electric shortages in Zambia. They learned this from not having it in place for Inyoni in South Africa.
Chupapie,
You are right the constant accusations of lying etc does the board no good. I would never call anyone a liar mainly because they may be mistaken, misunderstood or I maybe and in the future they may turn out to be right and I am wrong. No one is infallible.
I want to hear others opinion whether I agree or not and no-one should be discouraged from posting theirs. if abuse is in a post I tend to not take that post as being too meaningful and ignore it.
I believe JLP anticipated a potential cash flow problem when they did the raise for the extra cash they needed for the new project. They probably expected a potential issue in Feb, Mar or Apr when the bulk of the cash was needed. We will never know it is sensitive information to the company and rightfully so.
I think they knew this but also knew in the 4th quarter that Chrome was starting to really pile in the cash. The delay actually helps them as they are probably now stockpiling cash particularly from Chrome for the ramp up in May.
It was good business. They needed it quick to take advantage of the opportunity presented with IRH. All my opinion of course.
I have worked for a FTSE 100 company directly reporting to Operations and Finance directors different for them as they usually have plenty of cash flow or an easy access to loans. JLP didn't have that so did a book build for quick cash. The response to that was very good.
We are where we are just waiting for the Copper ramp up. Then I will have more figures to play with.
I've been visiting this forum for quite some time because there is some very valuable information and opinions that get shared here. Many different point of views, all equally important. However, this constant name calling and attacking each others character is shameful. Adults fighting like little kids on the playground. Unable to accept a different opinion because they think a couple people on a forum will be able to influence a whole markets outlook on a share. Take a step back and realize how embarrassing this is. At the end of the day we are all here for the same reason, we all want to make money and share our opinions with people who have an interest in Jubilee.
This forum has given me valuable info and taught me many things I never would have known about Jubilee and mining in general. I would prefer to open this site with excitement rather than despair. Let us be better.
What negativity gotreal. Honestly. You are like one of those obsessive evangelical preachers. The only negative I have expressed is the Roan delay, which is months beyond schedule. I was trawling back through RNSs related to this and in early February it was announced that all was good, testing complete, dismantling and shipping input to happen, no mention of further delays. Of course I could be confusing the multitude of projects. I am easily confused. I am confident JLP will make me plenty if money but it foes not mean I have to look at Leon all dewy eyed with my tongue hanging out. Mistakes have been made.
I think the JLP board have rather more to concern themselves with than a few emoting PIs on a BB, Frog... Their toes are safe.... but you are shooting yourself in the foot by promoting negativity.
DBH, dont play into his hands. Hes just getting you to keep going over the message he wants displayed. Everyone will read the posts and see him for what he is and his supporters.
This is what you said you illiterate “ Don't think they will run out of cash after hat las placing before the end of June”
Kalan, Gray, etc. Please do keep posting. I believe it is vital we don't all blindly follow the happy clappers and continue to question the board. Keeps them on their toes.
Dbh has pulled me up for saying this. Mikiesunday leaps in to castigate me. Gray1 now has to distance himself from my opinion on this, quite rightly.
The only problem is I DIDN'T SAY IT. dbh made it up. I said it wouldn't be a problem due to the placing. Others have said the chrome production would hav cash flow covered anyway. Different opinions. Both could be correct
I DIDN'T SAY IT dbh so the ho erable thing would be to apologise and retract it.
Actually this is where I disagree with Kalan. I don't think they are surviving until the end of June. I think the improved Chrome output Kalan has it covered.
Yep DBH, he is not invested ATM. Whats worse he is encouraging others to be negative under the guise of discussion.
There you go again Kalan “surviving to the end of June”. You cannot help yourself knocking this share so you obviously have an ulterior motive. Best thing you can do is keep your trolling yo yourself. There is no other reason for your constant digs and negativity.
Didn't the raise also allow us to progress the modules quicker or am I getting muddled up?
The keeping JLP afloat bit was more a reference to the past. My opinion re the last placing was that the IRH deal was convenient, shall we say, as a small smokescren for working capital. As Gray1 says this is in the past now. As soon as Roan picks up to 50% 60% etc capacity the cash flow should start to be positive IMO. Don't think they will run out of cash after hat las placing before the end of June when Leon has promissed an increase in the amount of copper produced. He chose his words carefully to be sure.
Zambia seeks power imports for key mining sector
22 Apr 2024
LUSAKA, April 22 (Reuters) – Zambia's state-owned electricity utility Zesco said on Monday it is seeking to import power to avert an energy deficit that could affect output in Africa's second-largest copper producer. The southern African country generates 86% of its electricity from hydropower stations. Power generation has been hit by a severe drought induced by El Nino – a weather phenomenon resulting from the abnormal warming of the waters in the eastern Pacific, which raises temperatures globally. As a result, Zambia expects a power generation deficit of 700 megawatts this year, Zesco said in a statement.
"We are negotiating additional electricity imports that will be strategically allocated to crucial sectors, including mining, agriculture, and manufacturing to support economic stability and growth," Zesco said. It did not give details of how much power it seeks to import.
Last week, Zesco warned mining companies there may be fluctuations in power supply due to the reduced generation capacity, raising concern over the country's copper output. Zambia's copper output declined to about 698,000 tons in 2023 from 763,000 tons the prior year, according to the country's mining chamber. The potential risk to copper production from the African nation comes at a time when the market is already concerned about tightening global supplies constraining refined production of the metal, which is used in power and construction industries.
Good job we have already negotiated a preferential, strategic level supply at Sable and have mitigated the effects of cuts through the low power modular approach and back up generators. The copper price can only go higher....
It just looks like a random go at anyone who gotreal believes fits those categories. He didn't name anyone and now he has got it of his chest he will feel better anyway back to discussion.
Its good to disagree Heroic, if based on a sound argument. But I cannot see where Got Real is implying you are bad?
Mikie we will have to politely disagree. It was the usual aggressive and accusatory performance as well as more boundless ramping. No one is going to buy shares because got real says so (no matter how many upticks adds with the many disguises). People are not daft, they want to read reasoned debate of the good and bad to make a balanced investment decision - just completey ignoring or painting over issues and questions is not going to encourage investment. Got real also implies we are bad should we buy and sell and instead should all just hold - that is just silly not sure about others but Im here to make money, sorry for that.
