Yes, indeed, good summary. Expecting several re-tests of the late 60s over the next few weeks, then onwards and upwards.
Good summing up. Ex divi used to be carnage. Looks like the buybacks have driven the shorters away. 70p has been tested and looks to be safe. Trading update. AGM then most likely no real change until October. More of the same. I would be surprised if this falls back to mid 60s and below in the autumn again. Looks like the CEO and Board may have corrected the volatility around the SP.
Ok so final scores ... looks like we closed at about 70.66 which is -2.6 or -3.5% roughly.
Dividend took out -3.3p or -4.5% roughly.
So today is actually +0.7p or about a 1% up day :)
This is actually really good - I was expecting a lot of holders to bail after benefiting from the big rise up from 60p area and securing the good dividend.
I think there is no reason to fear future dividend days ... so roll on October for the Interim 1.7p (or more - 1.8p, 2p who knows!?)
Thanks...understand. I'll have a look.
I think ToS actually forbid us from making buy recommendations and one of my many haters here would report me.
Go read the forum. I have moved money over at 280.
I've still got a satchel full of dosh Tom. Reckons its worth a go at Tesco ?
Take a look at Tesco today. 5.8% down on good results and soaring profits. Ex divi date in May
Pogo calm down. We are all allowed to express difference of opinions. You have held for a year and you resent anyone selling. I think we all get that now. No need for paragraphs of waffle with accusations of trolling

As for rudeness and chauvinism, I would like to remind you that new legal provisions have just been introduced. This will mean a sad experience for trolls.
Hi Pogo001, I have to agree with you about tom, he has now / seems to have changed his views about the Dame.
Has he now seen the light or just had blinkers on all the time.
Anyway can now see these going to £1 in 3-6 months. with luck and a gale.
FOR EVERYONE TO BE REMEMBER

RE: ITV Studios5 Feb 2024 09:40
For a new investor here it would take 10 years to make their money back. If the Dame stays then going on her form over the last 6 years the share price would halve and still lose some. So you would be left with shares worth 20-30p.
You can make 5% elsewhere a year and have a decent gain in the share price. Just a matter of choosing the right stock.
If Carolyn was to get the boot tomorrow then this could be over £1 in the next year.

Russian trolls will always stay just the trolls
I think people were hoping for more like 5% fall and then get the cash gain immediately rather than waiting on the 24th May.
This only briefly dips below 70 today and then buying seems to push it back up. It was so volatile before the buybacks. 10% losses in a day could happen with no news.
ITV is holding up well today, at time of writing 11:50am it is -2.92p
All that matters is today's closing price - if it's less then the div of 3.30p down - then actually allowing for the dividend adjustment ITV has gone up on the day! Still got the US open to get through however...
Feels like a lot of people were expecting (hoping?) for eg a 10% drop today...
So if this goes sub 70p I will buy more, simple.
within a month this should be back to 75p again.
I'm standing about 150ft cleaning the "tower" windows in Rhyl like a praying mantis waiting for sub 0.70p. Its incredibly dangerous without a harness but exciting.

I feel your pain Pogo. I am 100k down today and will see probably worse. May 24 cannot come soon enough.
I wish I had followed Jed's advice rather than our Pyongyang troll
FACTS *Some people on this forum selling shares always on the top price and buying shares on the bottom (surprise if you check trade list how many shares were sold - bougth on this levels) *they are always made a profits (what about transaction costs and 0.5% Gain Tax?) *Some trolls are changing your mind about trend, own ITV portfolio, forecasts etc. - some many times that to be fair, in my opinion nobody knows (they probably too) where is the true. Money talks. Trolls believe that stupidity and lies remain hidden and invisible.
For the certain group of people have knowledge and skills (both their own and especially possessed by others) are very painful experiences. It is even more painful when they see in their own pocket how much money they are losing. Stupidity and ignorance also result in a lack of understanding of the meaning and operation of the market. The lack of understanding of buyback for the liquidity of ITV shares and therefore the share price is therefore painful for the pocket. Especially as it is combined with the upcoming improvement in ITV's financial results. Investors who understand the current situation are doing their part. They accumulate shares being aware of the slow but systematic increases in share prices and, above all, the buyer who makes systematic purchases while protecting the share price against greater declines. Upcoming market and financial news from ITV are also an additional advantage. Peace and quiet guarantees stable profits here. The time of trolling and speculation on ITV shares ended when the trend changed to an upward one. And at least until the price reaches above £1.20. As always, there is time for tips, but there is also time for serious profits. Stupidity and incomprehension always costs money. Although it is difficult to attribute both intelligence and stupidity to trolls. A Russian troll will always remain only an intellectually and financially poor troll.
I have been systematically investing in ITV shares since February/March 2022. I started with 30k shares. Today I have over 280k shares and they are the only ones in my portfolio. I received over £25k from the company in dividends (including last one). My expected investment period was set from the beginning at 3-5 years, with a minimum price range of £1.5-2, divi were not included (but I expected another 3-5% yearly). These are the facts. Money talks. I will leave it without comment.
No I didn't tom I sold the last lot at 75p-76p and just bought back in the 70's even with com etc, so better than divi.
You lost money there Jed? How much did you sell at previously?
OK bottled it, just bought back in as I'm just not sure if it will go lower or start to rise again.

In my youth I was taught "Always ignore idiots. Arguing with them is pointless. They cannot understand the meaning of what you are saying."
