As an aside, recently loaded my portfolio of a dozen shares into Google finance. Not the same detail info as here but the real time pricing is great.
Also debt will most likely be eliminated in H1 2022, leaving around $15m per annum to expand from profit. Might even start a divi!
2019 and 2020 were already profitable, when 2021/Q1 price was $34, so at $50 (~50% increase), they should do well.
The share price was close to 30p in late 2019, while profitability was significantrly lower then, so draw your own conclusions.
Commenting on the update, President and CEO of Iofina Dr. Tom Becker, said: "Whilst the recent spike in Covid-19 has slowed the IO#9 process, we expect to now finalise an agreement in early Q1 2022. We are advanced with our construction planning, so will hit the ground running once we have access to the new site.
Wouldn't be surprised to see the year end Iodine production figures closer to the 300 MT figure
Could be an exciting 2022! Good luck all.
WOW, a MM actively making a market, buying and selling. HOW UNUSUAL!! One small reduction from Southern Rock two months ago and they suddenly become large sellers??? Hmmmmm
Note issued this morning on my news feed FYI
https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/iofina-plcs-lon-iof-stock-062300160.html
Thanks for your reply Mesquida, I must confess in my haste I had not noticed that the notification of 19 October was so late. I don't think however that there is a deliberate agenda to mislead the market in a sustained way by further concealing notification of sales by SR rather that there was many small sellers over weeks and months for whatever reason. I will be looking out for RNS's with interest to settle the point.
And i am not quite sure why you say " plenty of buying by Sneller and Newlands argues against you ", because i see that buying as confirmation that we have a large seller suppling the stock.
Poindexter01, you would agree that there has been an agressive and sizeable seller operating here for some months now. The stock has been consistently well offered by one market maker in particular, how else do you think that Sneller managed to recently accumulate his stake in such a short space of time without moving the price.
I cannot guarantee that the seller is Southern Rock but the fact is that they have definitely reduced, hence their RNS on 20th October. That RNS incidentally was issued later than it should have been
( look at the date when they crossed the threshold ), which makes me think that they are not that fussy about complying with the disclosure rules. I may be wrong but i suspect that the next holdings RNS that you see will be Southern Rock reducing further, indeed i suspect that they should already have made a further RNS by now, because certainly 2 or 3 million shares were sold into the market when there was a flurry of buying as a result of Day Trader's recommendation in the Inv.Chronicle.
If this overhang was cleared up in the way that i suggested in my earlier post then this stock could possibly double in fairly short order.
Ecclescake and Medquida what evidence do you have for saying that SR is aggressively selling down and out of it's holding? I see an RNS on 20 October is that all? Plenty of buying by Sneller and also Newlands before that which argues against you. Please enlighten me as I do not think for one moment that you are stupid enough to post hogwash and I need to know the true situation.
CaneToad, i think that Iofina's share price is where it is for one very simple reason, we have a major holder sellng down their shareholding , and accordingly all interested buyers are holding their fire until they know that the overhang has gone. In days gone by what would normally happen is that the house broker ( assuming that they believed in the investment case which in this case they clearly do, given their share price target ) would arrange a clear-up, by which i mean that he would broke the story to interested buyers and then bid the seller for his entire holding . Once the stock had neen placed the share price eould quickly re-rate to what was considered to be fair value, giving the buyers an immediate profit and earning the broker some brownie points. Sadly small cap brokers do not seem to be so proactive now as they used to be.
@L3Trader: Interesting when you compare IOF against some of its peers in the specialist chemical space, e.g. Elementis, which trades on a forward P/E of 14.1, vs Iofina on forward P/E of 6.3. It's hard to argue that IOF is currently expensive. I think it's having a bad time currently because of the poor sentiment in the UK market generally. FYI: Elementis 'is the 'winner' in that Stocko comparison.
I think the lack of news flow and Aron Banks selling are possibly linked, based on previous clashes and him being view as a risk although not named person, they are holding news back to make his life harder.
I think IOF might surprise us with a future chemical link to battery production. I hope the don't let's us down on the IO9 confirmation.
I have no idea why they are selling, but i think that we have to assume that they want out completely.
As regards your comment re 20p share price target i think that this will prove to be conservative, for two reasons. Firstly because iodine prices are continuing to rise ( see recent comments by SQM ), and secondly because we should now start to see higher production figures as new plants are constructed. Hamstrung by debt the erection of new plants was not a possibility before , but it is now, indeed we have been promised news of 109 by the year end.
it is trading on an "adjusted CF" yield of 8.25%....
Mesquida,
Why is Southern Rock selling? Any particular reason for them doing so?
All,
My back of the envelope calculations give me about $1.5M of my "adjusted CF" measure. so, assuming H2 is like H1, I get $3M of "adjusted CF". With a current market cap of £27M (c. $36M), it is trading on an "adjusted CF" yield of 12. Thus, not much margin to get the SP to move above 20p in the short run, unless iodine prices spike or it is absorbed by a larger company (M&A).
ATB
The price did not rise on what is obviously good news because quite simply the whole world and its dog knows that major holder Southern Rock is selling down its holding, and any demand for the shares is easily satisfied. It is diffiult to be certain as to how many more they have got left to sell, but i would guess 10 million, so you may find that this stock remains depressed for some time yet, despite the fact that on fundementals it is clearly very cheap.
I would have thought after the latest Iodine prices moving up that the share price would have followed, hopefully a delayed action and once common knowledge someone will start stake building?
What a day it would be if Elon Musk made an offer for the company!
Let's hope that he reads New Scientist.
If that doesn't make the share price 'blast off', I don't know what will...
Sounds great. Time to start growing giant iodine crystals.
Deploy beakers, string and pencils immediately. Good spot ...!
