Stokey did you notice this ?
"The current expected Completion of build date is December 2024 (32 months build duration)"
The PIN for this has now been published and can be found here https://bidstats.uk/tenders/2021/W26/753992185 JW has already said that he will be bidding on this. There will definitely be competition from Cammell Laird.
Avyererdowt afraid it was just a wasted attempt of humour
Stokey probably a combination of both from now i think i will leave the funnies to Si he is far better at it
Avyererdowt In relation to your 17.03 post do a copy and paste into your address bar that will work.
oldtramp In relation to your 15.49 post that parking looks a bit off. I would have thought you would be a lot better at parking than that or was it PC after his TPG gig.
Anyone make any plans ?

LMFAO SI what we need is a practice run mmmm how about dismantling the AZURA and put it back together again..
Iamsailing In relation to your 10.26 post I would not anticipate H&W doing any shipbuilding until next year and I believe that in most cases it would use a mix of contractors and its own staff. The one case where it would partner with another company would be with the FSS contract if it was to be successful with that.
Plenty of room TheEast i wonder how it would look like with HMS Prince of wales
Shipbuiling? What here? Not sure, mate, TBH. Hang on, I'll just ask.
Anyone here know anything about ship building? Yeah, shipbuilding, y' know building ships.
Why? Some bloke was askin'. That's wot I said.
Nah, sorry mate, don't think we do that at the minute, sorry.
But check back later as we keep changing what we actually do here, so you never know.
;)
Hi All,
On an otherwise quiet day on here, just for a bit of fun and to help scale the size of H&W, image to scale showing a couple of Type 45's in dry dock for QE!

Hi - can any of you with more knowledge of shipbuilding than me (near zero) help me understand where Infrastata sits in the value chain please? I understand they own the yards where the work could be carried out, but how much actual building of ships would they do if, for example, they won the new Britannia tender? Would they use their own workforce, or hire contractors or have to partner with another shipbuilding company? Presumably it requires a lot of different specialist trades. What’s their value add, and so how much of the contract value might they typically retain? I’m sure it depends on the situation, but a rough idea would be useful. Thanks in advance
Si_Derman,
I am heartily sick of directors using social media to release potentially material information. It seems particularly prevalent in AIM though, of course, the greatest culprit is Elon Musk. The regulatory authorities are way behind the curve here and need to catch up with modern communications technology.
Anything RNSed or even put on a company's website infers a far higher level of accountability than merely dropping something on twitter or linkedin, it seems.
Thanks for posting a breakdown of the details, Chris.
Why are these type things always squirreled away on Linkedin and Twitter, where not everyone either looks or has access?
If not RNSable at least stick on the company website.

Fantastic to publish this report today, demonstrating why our Islandmagee gas storage project is crucial to the security of Northern Irelands energy supply and the route to achieving net zero.
The project can act as a transition over the next few decades, we await the issue of the Marine License in order to get the project moving creating jobs and economic benefit for the local community. #energy #renewableenergy #gas #cleanenergy #jobs

Below per Island Magee Energy posting:
Today, we release our submission to the NI Department for the Economy Energy Strategy.
Some of the key takeaways from our submission include:
??Building Hydrogen storage capability will be key to decarbonising our Energy Sector
??NI’s unique position to harness excess wind power to generate and store Hydrogen
?No time to waste – Governments must act fast to capitalise on this opportunity
NI imports 90% of its energy and targeting net zero presents a prime opportunity to not only decarbonise the energy system but also reduce reliance on imports.
It’s an exciting time for the renewable and clean energy sectors and NI is uniquely positioned to become a global leader in Hydrogen. However, this can only be done with support from government to ensure we harness the skills, knowledge & economic positioning that NI currently has, to turn this ambition into a reality.

Sooner than you think. Stokey imho
Just seen this from JW on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/posts/activity-6818274370637598720-iVxx promoting a new report showing the importance of IM to Northern Ireland. We seem to be having an uptick of pressure for a decision. I think any decision is a couple of months as the call for evidence is digested.
Personally i think it will be interesting to see who gets the Scillonian contract it is due to start next year so could be announced soon
On a separate note my 11.08 post is worth a watch....1st 5 mins is slow but then it gets far better very good insight and worth bearing in mind Hydrogen needs to be stored and salt caverns are currently the only tried and tested way apart from liquid form but that is at minus 250 and IM the only suitable ones in NI
No, it certainly is not. lol
Was thinking more of Westward Ho!, Northam and Appledore.
It was more about the skill share for H&W's already paid staff.
"Commitment by Navantia to provide technology and know-how transfer to Harland & Wolff, including upskilling of the workforce, with Harland & Wolff's employees receiving training and acquiring new skills in Navantia's shipyards."
I know Appledore very well it is certainly not an industrial area like Barnstable or Bideford to an extent ... Beautiful part of the country
Over recent years they have been building estates like on any scrap of land in the area that they can get their hands on.
Hi Si Guess the teaming would or will happen when a ship building contract gets signed ? No point paying staff until then ?
I'm flattered that he read my post regarding Navantia. lol
But, after over twelve months since the signing , and he is still "looking forward" to working with them. That doesn't sound like there has been much going on with regards to any of the elabourate spin in that "Teaming"RNS that I mentioned.
Well, nothing that I can find.
Thanks The east really dont know how you found that !
Been looking at this seems a few fields away
but always worth a look it seemed like a lot of land to me.
