Director National Flagship Project - GOV.UK
You can download a pdf quite a good read especially last paragraph page 6
oldtramp Ref 13.53 post As you say an interesting speech I note that only two shipyards were mentioned Appledore which JW has said he would work hard to get the tender and Clyde the home to a Naval Base. I note Cammell Laird did not get even a oblique mention.
Oldtramp clear signal from Wallace , honest proposal ,nice bloke from near my kneck of the woods ,see him on train now and then ,so Xmas decision time for shipbuilding ,let's hope we get the order to build it !!:)
Quite a speach!

I see we now have about four or five cruise ships making weekly stops in Belfast which makes H&W well placed for doing repairs.
They just have Sheffield Forgemasters suppliers of high grade steel to the defence industry and others, has just been nationalised.
Mod pay 2.6m for the entire share capital and will invest up to 400M over the next decade.
Without this company we have no defence industry
It is probably time for the U.K. government to announce some good news for investment in the Northern Irish heavy industries.
Scotland has been hoovering up all the contracts for quite some time.
Thanks for replies guys; enlightening.
Thanks Stokey much appreciated. Had a quick scan and will read more in depth later. Gla
Jabido ref 10.13 post Firstly I would not call you a deramper as your negative comments like mine are reasoned and not just a negative comment. On what you say about BAB if you read the transcript of the 3.30 session at this link https://committees.parliament.uk/event/5026/formal-meeting-oral-evidence-session/ either David Lockwood or Glynn Phillip does actually question whether outsourcing is a good idea.
It seems I could be accused of being a deramper these days, believe me I certainly don't want to be given the money still invested here! The original award of contract did include us as part of Bab****s consortium. However I read somewhere that once we fell into administration our involvement ceased. From Bab****s perspective, we then came out of administration with the intention of being a friendly disruptor of the ship building duopoly, particularly with the team resolute set up. So Bab**** then decided to close off our involvement. Therefore Bab**** will not be giving us any work on the type 31 in my opinion. To do so would be assisting a potential rival of future contracts. Hope to be proven wrong but I'm not expecting any work from Bab**** or bae unless they are told to by the government
Schlum ref 09.12 post I remember reading something to that effect and it is certainly referenced in the brokers notes from Cenkos. Without looking up the notes I think there was talk of £350m of sub contracted work. Good thing I am not at H&W as I would use them not keeping to agreements on sub contracted work when doing tender bids as evidence that work would not be spread around other yards.
Wasn’t H and W part of the Type 31 winning bid. No news on this? Any work being subcontracted out?

Hi stokey they look pretty tall to me
https://renewablesnow.com/news/saipem-contracts-scottish-fabrication-for-8-nng-jacket-foundations-738200/
obviously the steel needs to be cut, welded blasted before painting ?
oldtramp ref your 17.52 post I am not entirely sure that the scaffolders and painters are needed for the Saipem Contract. The reasons for this are I am not sure due to the purpose of the jackets that they are going to be tall enough to require scaffolding to be used. Secondly the start date is two months after the start of the Saipem contract which would be strange if they are going to be used on Saipem contract. For example if the painters are going to paint the jackets I would expect the painters to be needed earlier than end of August as INFA appeared to be ready to start on July 1. If I am right that would imply that there is another contract which is due to start End of August.
Looks like steel must be arriving soon as scaffolders and painters required end August

Stokey,
Social Media is a beccessary evil for all companies now, and if done well, will do the company a lot of good on the PR front, that's not necessarily just prospective customers but future employees, suppliers, clients, funders, professional services, politics, local residents. It should build a high profile, good-news story which can only be a good thing for us PI's- who I would suggest, shouldn't be the target audience for Socail Media. Unfortunately Social Media now covers Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Tim Tok, Instagram, and probably others I don't know of- so definitely right to have a dedicated specialist team in house!
Just seen this https://www.linkedin.com/posts/seenashah_careers-activity-6825661805017333760-taoV It appears that Infrastrata is looking for someone to handle social media. For those not on linkedin the post says.
Do you live and breathe social media? Want a role that never gets boring? Where every day is truly never the same? An opportunity to capture some of the most exciting content in UK shipbuilding? Want to lead the way in the industry rather than follow? - InfraStrata Plc needs you!
I can see the logic of having someone with a dedicated focus on Social Media but they need to remember that not all shareholders will be on social media. Although I suspect that the target audience might be on prospective customers who in general will be on social media.
It's coming soon.ML and FID.
Where are the official announcements of serious contract work, which might lead to some recovery in the catastrophic share-price?
More photos of the progress of work on the Sand Snipe which is still in Appledore. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/harlandwolff_more-progress-on-the-sand-snipe-in-appledore-activity-6825471269815885824-52UW
Here you go, OT.
This would give a date for further research as regards deliveies to Methill.

Thanks Si/Stokey just wondered as it is a hell of a lot of steel required and with Saipem supplying that part of the contract be good to see a huge pile of steel.
On a separate note stokey for some reason from my 11.02 post re Allan Ralston is now not included in webinar hope someone read it as he was definitely down to take part
