oldtramp ref 17.25 post On checking the arrivals at Methil port I noticed in July there were two cargo ships that berthed in the port. I am not sure if anyone knows if anybody else would be using the Port at Methil to bring cargo in.
Evening, OT. Do recal mention of a steel delivery for the Sapiem contract being delivered a while ago. Seem to remember something about it may have been for pre contract work though. Will have a look back and check.
Evening gents with all your knowledge of ship movements have any of you found a ship that is likely to be dropping off the steel for Saipem contract ?
Did find this on its way to Methil on 1st August
https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/BEAUTRIDENT-IMO-9369306-MMSI-253767000
Or is the steel coming from other sources and transportation ?
I think you will find it is the Ro Ro Cargo Ship:

Hi Stokey12 - it might be this RoRo vessel en route to Belfast IMO 9119414, MMSI 235096892, appears on a google search
The Belfast Harbour website has been updated to show that a vessel called the Arrow is due into the BBD at 08.40 tomorrow and is scheduled to leave at 12.00 on the 29 July. It looks like a emergency docking . A dross check with Vesselfinder.com shows a number of ships with the name Arrow so I cannot determine what type of vessel it is.
oldtramp ref 11.02 post Interesting webinar of particular note is the 16.10 talk this will flag up whether the NI Executive will be willing to provide investment funds.
Good to see Allan Ralston, Harland and Wolff taking part in Invest Northern Ireland tomorrow

Chrisatrdg ref 09.29 I have just cross checked with the Belfast Harbour website and the Coral Water is due to leave at 3pm today the Azura is still scheduled to leave on the 10 October.
I note that Coral Water is beside Azura hopefully not fuelling it up to go.

Looking forward to some news soon
Sorry Stokey just noticed you mentioned Scotwind
Stokey don,t forget the Scotwind auction

oldtramp ref 10.59 post When you look at the list of lease areas from the link in my 10.59 post all the areas would not be eligible for subsidies unless they use British manufacturers. These are not small areas the smallest will generate 480MW of energy.
Offshore wind CFD The UK Government has confirmed plans to remove subsidies for offshore wind farms unless companies use British manufacturers
https://www.power-technology.com/news/industry-news/uk-government-strip-subsidy-cfd-offshore-wind-supply-chain/
This is a long read on parliament debate on Arnish and Methil but if you factor in the above about CFDs it makes very interesting reading

I am not sure if this has been posted before but this is a lease of all the Crown Estate Round 4 Windfarm Leases https://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/en-gb/media-and-insights/news/2021-offshore-wind-leasing-round-4-signals-major-vote-of-confidence-in-the-uk-s-green-economy/ Going by the timetable given on this page they would start construction H2 next year subject to planning so over the next year there will be a substantial number of fabrication contracts for Jackets. Also please note these are in addition to the Crown Estate Scotland Scotwind leases mentioned in posts last week.
I note that the H&W Apprenticeship Scheme is due to start across all four sites in September. This would need an uptick in contracts as far as is known there is no work ongoing at Arnish. We can hope that there is the necessary work coming in to sustain the apprenticeship scheme.
You Might find this interesting Chris

Hi oldtramp - With regards 'gearing up for a ship building contract' H&W posting suggests it was posted to wet our appetites & so you could be right. The timing would then a suggest an RNS next week which ties into my earlier hunches.
What I do believe is that if we do not get some form of an update/RNS next week I will be upset & many others.
Hi chris obviously i do admit i do not not know much about shipbuilding luckily have a tad more knowledge on Hydrogen However they do seem to have some modern tech at H&W Belfast
https://www.harland-wolff.com/news/welding-innovation-harland-wolff-install-state-of-the-art-welding-robot/
Re the pin jig if it does the job etc etc also would you not agree they are gearing up for a ship building contract ?
GLA
Thanks oldtramp but what I see in the article a very modern production line with gleaming equipment not like at H&W & that I think is one of the problems. It may be one of the largest docks but with antiquated equipment even the pin jig is well rusted compared with those in your link.
Never heard of a pin jig before so googled it looks like a jig for shipbuilding panels ?
https://www.img-tech.de/en/services/production_lines/panel_production/curved_panels
Chris, something coming imho, you don't do that for no reason , agree stokey
Thanks guys. I do hope we start to see some positive news here soon.
My holding here has a special sentiment, as one of my first memories was watching the launch of the Canberra in Belfast.
Chrisatrdg With a week to go to the end of the month you might get a contract announcement that you were expecting.
