US giant AutoNation eyes driving seat at Inchcape UK
A takeover of Inchcape's UK dealerships would come months after AutoNation withdrew from a bidding war for rival British company Pendragon, Sky News learns.

Yep that sounds plausible and that potential news, and the recent rise, is underpinned by substantial director buying recently...
Plus an expected FY24 p/e around 9 and 5% yield helps too.
Been moving up since Friday,
Possibly Uk retail sale news shortly?

and the forward statements look good too. very strange to see such a price drop on the back of this reporting
Weird - to me.
"The firm proposed a final dividend of 21.3 pence, which would bring its full-year payout to 28.8p, up 28% from 22.5p a year prior"
I thought we must have gone ex-div, but that's 11 May...
Not read them yet, anyone any idea why the markets kicked them this morning ? £7.89 at last look on my screen ?

Wow, despite revenue recovery these "discontinued operations" was stab in a back (was it only about disposal of St Petersburg business?).
The next Inchcape plc dividend will go ex on 12th May for 16.1p and will be paid in 2 months. Approx 3.6% Dividend yield at todays SP
§ Group revenue £1.8bn1
: up 13% on an organic basis
§ Sale of Russian business agreed
§ Distribution acquisition in Chile: £130m revenue and first-time distribution of Porsche and Volvo
§ Outlook: expect 2022 PBT of at least £300m, up 25% versus the prior year1
primarily driven by further strengthening of distribution

I've got a few of these shares, complicated by the fact I've got the dividend being paid as a DRIP, so as I've held these for years I've got numerous share certificates for e.g. 2 - 3 shares ....
just us pair then ! Good Luck. Solid company, worked for them for years. ( left may years ago though)
I just bought in
Bit quiet this BB ?

Reviewing the accounts 2019 Inch had stock of £1.55bn , finance by stocking loans of £1.37bn , yet stocking loans, repayable normally 90days excluded form Net Debt disclosure. I think they will have to raise RI, Inch are in 16 countries (out of 33) that combined - generate less than 5% of revenue. Top 8 +80% - with the pandemic and air travel etc expand more locally, they are in Chile which is having its second wave. IMO DYOR, the cash reduction from Dec to May excluding COVID loan was £283m, June month world wide sales are down 25%, in INCH territories - took me all day - thats H1 sales down £1.6-1.7bn. Say £100m repay covid loan, say £100m to cover retracement of territories, redundancies closures before fiscal stims end worldwide, under new CEO, post COVID risk and £100m to support bank and stocking loan lending £1.4BN and acquisitions in major LOCAL markets - . I never understood expansion in marginal territories, Ethiopia?. Chile's backed up with COVID, when there is greater commercial risk and less reward. The current malaise will throw up opportunities for growth by acquisition, but that needs cash and bank support, when sales are down £1.6bn, IMO DYOR you need an equity injection, especially when INch Balance Sheet has many Intangile Assets - Right of Use, Goodwill, which will be written down. GLA GN.

New to Inchcape, but the 33 countries exposure to the virus is worrying, NAV £3.12 ish of which £1bn is Intangibles - Weak balance sheet for raising funds - i.e. Goodwill & Rights of Use which will be downgraded - me thinks on next 2 years future recession cash flows . This company is obviously gearing to 'Online with the New CEo so expect structural radical reforms and I would guess an equity raise - to bolster Net Assets - there will be stock write downs as vehicle RV's are impacted. At least the board admitted to a slow gradual recovery as with most of its markets in recession and unemployment in an L shaped recovery, corporate failures will impact . I never understood the 2bn Mkt cap when you take away the 3 pillars of corporate strength - 1. Divi yield Gone. 2 Share Buy Back & 3 Earnings growth delayed 3 years . Yet the Sp remains double NAV allowing for write downs & stock losses - only reason IMO is to allow a capital raise but only after next CEo gets in the seat . GLA HNY
Their brands is absolutely great and will recover but cyclical and now Global discretionary Capex is smashed, why be in Chile? Peru? Ethopia even in a global upturn - wrong boat IMO Kept shut until the TU - worse than my model £2.3bn sales. Will watch with interest.

Hi Capra, I bought at 719.45 earlier this week. The sp seems to be hovering below 710. Is the chart still indicating a good rise?
Hi super, I am looking at first target of 800 with the potential of 840.
Hi Capra. I'm looking to buy in here now (and EVRH - what's the target here? I have funds now to invest). The charts looking better now. 840 potential target? ps thanks for SXX tip. I sold just below 28.
719.5 to break
Following the RSI T/L break, price has followed by breaking trend line resistance. Making higher lows with higher highs and now holding above 50 day m/a, sitting just below 100 day m/a. 19.5 next target to break and taking this above 100 day m/a should see this really start to move, imo. This is breaking from structure as expected, at least 10% upside from here, imo.

Hi Dodger, Only just noticed your post, sorry for not replying.
Hi Capra - you got a view on VED at the moment? Mixed week so far but just about breakeven. Just PMO down. Bailed on SRP. I am finding BBY to be a bit of a goldmine - seems stuck in a 250-290 range. STRL going to be one to watch. I have take a very small position (won't suit you being a technical trader)
Divi of 18.9........Ex Div 17th May 'Wolfe Wave' time projection for target price is 2nd week of May Lets see eh.
Could it be today Super? If this breaks it could move well.
Hi Capra. I don't believe it closed above 696. I'm thinking perhaps wait for entry until it closes above that? Thanks.
