like for like new car sales down 17.5% compared to August 2009 will be affecting the rise. However, August is the least important month for new cars, and is always low so each unit drop has a large impact on % results. Also, profitablility for companies such as Inchcape actually comes from Used sales and the Service business. September is more important, and with the annouces re-instatement of the dividend payments this should continue to rise in the next few months
Looks like we are getting a positive rise. Let's hope she continues
We'd be looking at sub 200p, maybe sub 150p if it were credit crunch levels again IMO.
Can anybody shed any light on why this has dropped so far back since Inch's decent results! This is credit crunch level!!!
Well we certainly got movement!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looked at the charts and this one looks like its ready to go. We should get some movement next week. Hopfully northwards.
but I'm thinking soon, although the FTSE hasn't sunk as much as it might yet.
any thoughts on the next good entry point?
i the only one buying. im the only one chatting that is for sure.
yep.. they used the NoNo word in their report - CAUTIOUS. As usual people dived out on profit taking. What I do like about this company is that they are honest and can be trusted - like GKN, if anything they factor in a bit of a conservative approach and then do better than expectations. This is one is likely to dip down a bit (we haven't had a bad DOW day recently, that will shake things up a bit) and that will be the time to top up or buy in. Long term prospects for INCH are excellent but near term "caution" has scared 'em off a bit.
Would have thought with the good results this would start to move north. Anyone got any ideas??
300p and above is where this belongs
Sorry, just saw your posting, hope you got in before the rise but there is more in this. This is one of my bankers for the future, already wel into profit and have moved part of my holding into my ISA for this year. It is a very good company with global operations and great distribution, so I have a lot of faith. DYOR and GL
profit takers who got in prior to results should have banked their profits. So its all up from here on in. Agree, that news i hear from an employee is all good.
Could be a good time to get back in or even look to trade this for a quick 10% for me.... Drop looks well over done, I like the fact that a lot of staff seam to be taking up share options at work, shows long term confidence... I let you know if I get back in.... Are you in this big at the mo? ITF
Would not worry about that. Spencer Lock is leaving anyway.

as this falls below 299 it might be an interesting time to get back in.
just under 300p now, getting interesting, but this is Friday afternoon and the market has slipped. On my watchlist.Anyone in here got a thought on the very large transactions on rival lookers past couple of days??
300p. What what what. Falling back to 300p is just wrong I have been holding for over a year so not worried - but its still bleeding wrong!
see hallmarks last post. always dips after good news. got out at 325 on his advice, will now look for low entry point as things here get quiet until the dividend window later in the year
Strange Another day FTSE down 0.4% and inch 3.4%!!!8 times Just does not seem right. Looks like some people already had this stiched up, good results or bad aint matters Where are the regulators? Do they actually do their job?? or are paid off?? or having an extended weekend? bankers *** the people in now I think its the share market operators tc mel
It was just unlucky that the markets went south yesterday. The good news is still there for everyone to see. This is rock solid
Such great news, huge rise in profits and a declaration of intent to pay dividend Still whats the rise in share price?? 2.6% Looks like manipulation of stock prices works more than its actual performances When the banks were playing dirty all the regulators were sleeping or were paid off Does anyone police the stock markets? Anyone in recent past jailed for insider trading? Nah again people sleeping or being paid off Keep it up regualtors Mel
