The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
It clearly says in the text they are planning to reduce dividend to 1.75 so nearly having this year. I have made my money on the the SP and was only staying in for the very good dividend over the years. Looks like that party is over so will look around where I canget better dividends
This is now seriously undervalued. I knew AZ was was doing the Vaccine for no profit but apparently OXB does make profits from it and it looks like it could be a bumper profit , maybe even a bumper dividend. This the one share in my portfolio that I truly think could grow 50-100% over the next period!
I can't understand how so many of you are shocked to day about the SP dropping. The SP is not based on actual results but on expectations for the future and the expectations had been whipped up over the last few months for BARC. As usual the expectations had been exaggerated and even with very good results it was impossible for them to live up to that. It happens for most companies that they drop on results day and all day traders know this. For those with longer term outlook, just look at where BARC came from at the bottom, where it is today and where with the careful predictions made by BARC it will be in a year's time. I am pretty optimistic. Those who buy the day before because they hope for great results most often end up being disappointed because they have already missed the boat for quick profits.
very surprised to see that prices have not rocketed up on the Chancellor's announcement. I have bought more of all builders shares and once people realise what this means the next 9 months will be very exciting. On a house at 500.000 it means a 15.000 discount. That is quite amazing and will give a huge boost to the construction sector !
Thanks, Guys 18 p dividend means that as long as price stays over 190 it is OK. i Guess taht is worth the gamble with the chance that we might see another 20p . I have always learnt not to be too greedy but it is damn difficult to sell these when such a dividen is waiting and I cant see a run before the dividends is paid. maybe some profit taking but I am prepared for that.
After todays update and the rises over the last month I am for the first time in 12-13 years considering selling some of my holding. I bought in for the first time at 11 so this share together with BDEV have been fantastic for me. i am just wondering if tehre is a ceiling and if we have reached it now. I just would hate to say goodbye to the dividend. Does anyone know what we are looking at this year, somewhere between 15 and 20p? I ma really in 2 minds and might simply cut a third. Got about 27.000 shares. Any suggestions?
I would be very careful with this. Havent sold my shares but definitely not topping up. This is a clear mark on this company who otherwise have had an unblemished record, besides hargreaves promoting brexit which most of the companies do not support. Their close realtionship to Woodford is worrying in itself, the money they have made while the funds have been dropping and worse of all that senior members of the HL staff sold their shares just before the whole thing went pop. If that is not insider dealing I dont know what is and that will not go away that easily. They finally came out with a reluctant apology but I am sure that I am not the only one who is considering using a different broker in teh future.
You seem to have missed that today TW goes ex dividen on the special dividend of 10.7 p, so the drop today is more or less all about that. Once this is out of the way pretty sure it will stablise and start moving up again and we can all expect a great deal of cash coming in tax free (if you have the shares in ISAs)
A bit surprised to see the drop today but probably not a bad thing to take a breather. All the indicators are good except for the increase in cost but I think many are missing one crucial thing. A lot of people have been very hesitant to make major decisions with the uncertainty around Brexit . If TW have been able to survive at the same or improved selling rates and prices during this period then it is looking very rosy once we get a decision and the pent up demand is released. I am not worried in the least and look forward to seeing us back over 200 before the special dividend
Well, the fact is that she has negotiated a deal and remember it had to be a negotiation with a not too freindly partner in the EU that has been rejected by the brexiteers for being too close to EU ad by the remainers for being too brexit friednly so maybe the deal has been pitched quite right in the middle (and the refrendum was 52-48 , so close). The only correct thing now is to approve the deal with the caveat of it going to a public vote since Parliament cant do what they were asked to do. Nothing undemocratic in this at all!
My other point is how I feel physically sick to see that prat, Johnson, once again showing that he couldnt care less about the country as long as he can be Prime Minister. He has voted against the deal twice because he thinks it is a bad deal, now when May has said she will step down it doesnt matter that the deal is and for the peopel or the country because know he smells a vacancy so needs the deal to go through. Scum of the earth what ever view one would have on Brexit!
Just bought for 10000 pounds at 1.32.dont really care about it dropping a little more, but this i s now such a solid company with huge reserves, great order book and the dividend is fabulous. i really cant see it go much further down, and I can easily see it up 50% over the next year. Bought TW for the first time in 2008 for 9 and it has been tremendous to me ever since, but I think it is the gift that will keep giving.
Also bought a bit of BDEV at the same time, about £5000 for all the same reasons.
I have today received just over £100 pounds for my remaining shares of Sefton. As I wrote this off long time ago and I dont believe it will ever again be worth more again (except for the corrupt directors who will siphon the rest of the cash to their own pockets), this is a special bonus. It will go on a nice meal for me and my wife where we will toast to the downfall of all corrupt companies and directors. Sefton is the worse company I have ever had the misfortune to be involved in (even if I overall come it with a profit), It has never had a chance due to greedy, deceiving and totally incompetent management and boards from the first day till this very day. At least I hoped we all learnt some lessons, learnt to see the signs of companies we shouldn't touch, learnt not to believe all the BS we hear on forums and made some good acquaintances through the forums as well. Happy investing for the future!
Let's not fall out here, obviously different brokers have different charges and that is all we can say about that. Never forget forget the only bad guys here are BMD and his cronies led by California Joe. They are the ones screwing us out of the last remain of Sefton after trying to claim they were the sharehodlders friends. There are bad managers and trust me, Sefton saw it's fair share of those and there are swindlers who set out to defraud and BMD proved the first time he was in charge he was a very bad manager and the second time that he is a swindler and we shoudl all make sure that any company where we see him turn up in the future is reminded of his history here. I said before that I didnt care about his past and he should get a second chance but I have to admit that seeing what he does now proves the old adage that a leopard cant change his colours, he has just become more sophisticated in his crimes!
To all those taking the certificate dont forget that Levi and Chris Bailey (claifornia Joe) put in a clause in the last resolution that they coudl buy out anyone they didnt like for any value they decided, so i know that I would be thrown out anyway as they know who I am through trying to get me on board to topple the previous management. The previous management was pretty useless but not quite as corrupt as the present one, who dont even publish the cash position when deciding what to pay for he shares.
If we do the math they have shared about 80000 pounds amongst themselves over the last year, they certianly havent spent it on Sefton and if they dont agree , come out from where you are hiding and give us a set of accounts where you account for every penny that has disappeared.
Anyway be prepared that even if you ask for a certificate if they know who you are they are entitled to refuse you according to the rule they voted for at the AGM in a move that Putin would be proud of!
I really dont understand the conversation on this forum. This share and company has been dead for a long time and the changes that BMD and California Joe has forced through just shows that they have the same disregard towards sharehodlers as the previous directors who these two characters opposed in the past. They are crooks, only in it for themselves and now they just want Sefton as a shell company for themselves. I dont care hwat they do with it but why would I ever invest in a compnay that these 2 were running as they have no track record in turning any company into profit. With no accounts, no cahs status, no updates and no activity none of us have any basis for asessing if any offer is fair but it really doesnt matter No sensible person hasnt written off their shareholding a long time ago. So I will tale the few pence and give them to charity (already claimed the losses agianst profits elsewhere tax wise).
I have learnt a lot from Sefton and could actually write a book about the worse company ever listed, how many bad directors and CEO s have we seen here (some of which were strongly supported by California Joe, who now has deleted me form his Twitter after first trying to convince me to throw my hat in the ring with him and BMD, how stupid can you be?). So many bad decisions, so much lying and cheating and incredible deception. The only good things are teh people I met through the forum and teh many lessons I learnt which has helped make money so many other places ., I actually did end in profit on Sefton considering the profits I made at first but the lessons are helping me in my trading every day.
Good Bye and good riddance Sefton, good luck to you all and please help me warn any shareholders in companies where BMD or California Joe makes an appearance with their ugly mugs!
Thanks Barco David, I can only hope and believe that you are the one and only David (Radcliffe), it would be great if you were. In any event can only agree that HRG was a great company, great people and will be sorely missed as a separate entity. Hopefully you can carry some of that spirit with you in the new life with GBT. The industry needs the thinking you have given it and we who have been in this industry a long time have to fight for the betterment.
Whether I have given you laughs or been quite spot in, I have enjoyed participating in the forum and following HRG and the posts all these years. Of course more than anything the profits I have made on HRG since I started invested about 12 years ago has certainly helped to a much better lifestyle. the mortgage has been paid out, the kids have had theirs, the pension topped up and there will be plenty for the cruises and good times. Thanks, David, thanks HRG and here's to the next chapter!
Yes, a huge surprise. the few people who are fleecing the last few crumbs of the SER table agreed with the head fleecer that they can decide how to split the crumbs between themselves whenever they wish. This company continues being the biggest joke that has ever existed and it would be a great subject for a book except everybody would place it in the fiction section because it is so unbelievable. This latest chapter has now turned teh company into a true dictatorship ala Mr. Putin, but that is probably very apt as he must be one of Brokerman Dan's great idols Nothing more we can do , other to observe the farce develop and be sure to warn anyone of any of the BMD's ventures especially if he ever dares say again he is there for the shareholders LOL. He is there for an only one shareholder and that is himself!
