bobbins, we had lockdowns, but they removed the masks early, kids all went to schools expect in May 2020 until July, then they all went back to school as normal, if kids got covid, they stayed home for a week and then back. Masks on public transport and hospitals. Even up until last week the hospitals required masks. The Swiss a very compliant so will do without much encouraging.. for the most part.
But they dropped the ball on the initial start of the vaccine rollout.
Pushbikes are the only things that get stolen, then found abandoned somewhere. Kids as young as 4 walk to kindergarten alone, it is encouraged.
I freaked out at first, being that we came from blighty and the US, where you drive your kids to school on armoured cars..
Yes, very safe here. Too safe, you almost forget what the world is like so when we travel we forget and have to tell the kids that, " we are not in Switzerland".
Well, that nice little drop at the end means that we actually finished down on the day. Again. FFS!
fordm - you forgot to say "safe". I would imagine that Switzerland is infinitely safer than the crime-riddled hell hole that large parts of the UK have become, which is a major bonus - especially when you have kids.
Out of interest - did you have a full-on lockdown there, or was there a lighter touch?
Jtan, beautiful yes, clean yes. Expensive, oh yes!! You make a lot here, but they take it all...
But I look at it like, 'that's the price you pay for a very decent standard of living in nearly every aspect'.
for some reason we have just gone negative..very weird considering we were positive all day and towards the end we turned around..profit taking? also RR halved gains in 1 hr..ezj almost negative now.. we were doing so well!!
That old Biden forgot about removing covid tests for entry into US ?? he has no clue!! someone remid him covid has ended!
Ahahah.
If you buy now and sell at xmas their will be a good parent waiting for you
I make it four times this week we have moved from a bull market to bear market and back again. I can’t keep up !
sundezena agree rr comi good like you bought in around 80p but it think rr will take more time to recover than BA hence pumping most of my funds in this
Marab, when this reaches £1.70-1.80 i will stand to make a hell of a lot..plus i have a tonne or 2 at 84 pence, lets not forget that...plus all the profit i made with trades..I also own a big chunk of RR and i bought close to 80p so i am just waiting for the inevitable...both of them will rise at some stage..its unfortunate we had the war but as it has not affected IAG (so they have reiterated), I can see it reach a much higher price in the midst of the summer when we will have positive news on higher profits and better forward bookings. DYOR.
sundezena something must be going on i agree with you bud this a has bottomed staff shorteges will end so fill your boots as this is going to make me great profit when reaches 175- 180p happy days
AC777, those cancellations have been programmed for a couple of weeks, thats not news. BA cancelled flights 2 weeks before they are supposed to operate in order not to pay unnecessary cancellation claims!! But these cancellations get reported in the news with a bit of delay..I think we have seen the bottom before a rise (now) due to a very very busy summer. DYOR.
DYOR.
this will rise no matter what now...it's the first summer in 3 where this company will make a mint...flights are mostly full and they are increasing by the day now. i counted well over 620 more or less today..sit back and relax..thats why i added more last week close to 1.21. I see RR is going up 5 % today, must be the beginning of a really hot summer for travel related shares.
DYOR.
Yes , looking at U.S air numbers. Good stuff, we'll be near 'dirty thirty before end of week if logic doesn't evade us.
Pure speculation here but is it possible shorts are hedging long positions? I'm not an expert on such things but are these companies taking positions that balance their risk profile? The SP is steady for now...
Jtan give iag 6 months and it will rise nothing to stop it now all bad news has been published sit back and enjoy the rise
Tui was in a different situation from IAG, they were bailed out by the German Gov’t and following the positive update last week they have decided to accelerate the payment, hence the placement.
Nah...iag is fine..making profit as we speak. Dyor.
Does anyone think iag will go same way as tui done today (down 11%) to clear some debt, surely it's got to be a consideration.
