Standing in a London Railway station this morning, noted almost no-one buying. A few coffee sales. They apparently sell ice cream - only place inside Euston - but the notice is well hidden. Roll on winter!
Great read on US cpi. Inflation bubble being popped. Govt support is coming here. Time to load up the battered and I mean battered retail sector.
Opened blue, some large delayed buys showed up from yesterday ( 2 for about 200k each ) someone is draining all the stock down at these levels.
Another great day. The fall here was significant and well overdone. Trading at almost 530p earlier this year. Stealing really at these prices when you look at just how well they are doing in the UK. Happy to take a 20p rise day, and I suspect at some point we will get one, but very happy with slow and steady buildup. I suspect we have not seen the last of the large scale buys either. It’s just a case of when they turn up. Fingers crossed another blues say tomorrow.
Its deffo had an impact, the re rate back towards a sensible valuation is finally starting.
Great programme. Basically a one hour advert. Makes you realise what a unique offer this is and what a high quality company it is as well. Could well be a lot of interest here tomorrow. Sellers will be kicking themselves. Back over 200p before we know it. Just look at how hard joules is coming back now. Retail sector has been ridiculously oversold and there are some tremendous opportunities out there. This is the number one risk reward though for me.
gaz
u beat me too it.lol.
Also take a look at the cocoa price on the 3y . Clearly in a downtrend now. Which again. Good news.

I know it’s the HOTC thread but if we can see an improvement on the input costs side that will be a real bright spot.
China has enough on its plate with its zero covid policy mate. They are just playing Billy big balls at the moment. No more. Taiwan would be an utter hell hole for them to get involved in.
Retail is so cheap and now the predators are starting to swoop. HOTC will be in some cross hairs at these levels. PE interest? I think we see things warming up a lot next week. Retail is simply at crazy levels. And oil price is really coming off now. More support will be coming from the govt. time to go long.
And for the record they spent will over 100 quid between them. lol. What cost of living crisis!
Decent end to the week. Another 1 percent of the company bought on Friday. With such a low free float there really cannot be much more up for grabs. My mum and sister were both in one of the shops on Friday and both made purchases. Said it was brisk. As per their rns update it’s a small store but in a great location. I guess that fits the high intensity per sq ft they were talking about. One moan from them was that apparently you cannot buy a ‘grand slab’ anymore only I’m happy birthday format. They asked in store and they said they reduced the grand slab range when covid hit?!
Buys at full ask.. Blue finish to see the week out?
Looks like about 1.5 million shares just changed hands.
Really firm base forming now. RSI is showing very oversold. The move north is just a matter of time and patience.
I suspect WTI will be under 90. These are really big falls coming through now. If sustained this will really help lower input costs.
A great untie yesteday makes it "look" red but really its up again today.
I thin its gonna crack 140p, once it starts to move I think there will be no stopping this for some time.
Oil heading for 95, off another 2 dollars.
Oil comes down, everything else comes down (basically) so good news for the pound in the pocket.
80 USD and lower would be a real game changer as thats a much more normal level
Dow jones rallying another 500 points. Oil closing at days low. Be great to see it back under 80. It’s closing in on 95. It will be incredible how quickly sentiment could change. Uk retail stocks in general are ridiculously beaten up. Personally think we will suddenly see a very decent move here!
Brent under 97 USD, not seen that in a long while, if energy prices slowly start to come off that going to be a huge shot in the arm..
Finally going to start see a recovery back over 200p... It will come!
Dimi glad you enjoyed.
Let me know what you disagree with. Love to hear feedback/constructive criticism. Always great to hear another persons perspectives.
Fantastic thanks for that. Have skim read but will detail read later.
Cirl, great summary, thanks for sharing! There are few points I disagree with but overall spot on, really.
