compared to comparable competition like Starbucks, Costa, etc the drinks aren't expensive or overly.
And the chocolate you can't really compare against supermarket bought chocolate. Like Burberry showed me the last few years, those who like to and can afford to buy the premium items in a sector are usually the ones least likely to be affected by recessions at least initially.
More likely just ridiculously over sold.
Good news incoming
Looks like it to me.. Stock is very tight now.
Err because you can see the trades! 3m quids worth just done…
Big chunks of stock changing hands.
How on earth would you know that....Load of rubbish at best.
Another 3m quid trade just showing it’s face…
Yep, manipulation is strong. They will eventually let it go. I’m expecting to start seeing some large transactions again soon.
Thanks for the replies shearclass & dimi123
Zebbo, you can’t get a technical bounce if there are still large parties exchanging shares, the technical bounce will occur after they are finished &. TR1’s are released.
Expected a bigger technical bounce up from oversold position. On that basis there could be more downside. How strong will the UK consumer be, TBH it is very expensive chocolate, even in the sale.
Expansion overseas has been a disaster, so we need a strong UK consumer. If the consumer weakens expect further downside. What is costed in is a strong UK franchise along with a good growth profile
Hi Bermondsey,
I use sharepad as it has historical data going back years.
Still being held this morning via a false spread, walking down of buy prices & NT when the price is dropped, I.e you can’t buy 1k shares at present.
It all points to market makers knowing the current price is oversold so wanting to collect shares from inpatient PI’s which they’ll sell back over the coming weeks.
On Yahoo Finance:
https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/quote/HOTC.L?p=HOTC.L
On the top right of the chart click Full Screen and there you'll be able to see volume bars above the x axis.
Hi shearclass. How do I find information on historic trade volumes?
This is going to be a very positive week it just feels ready to surge imo
Everyone!
It’s definitely been held - as long as there is a buyer & seller exchanging millions of shares it’ll be held there, as that’s the market price. Clearly though the buyer is getting a volume discount & the seller is getting punished for offloading a large quality of an illiquid share, so once complete this will recover significantly in my opinion.
There were 33m shares traded Tues - Fri last week, that’s more than in the whole of 2021 put together & by far the greatest weekly volume in the 6 years HOTC has been listed. Interesting to see what happens to volume over the coming week.
Looking at the trading patters I think it has in effect been "held" here and large trades are being accommodated. I suspect, but no guarantees that once this is done we will se a pretty decent re rate. Looks like a lot going on behind the scenes equity trading wise, just look at the volumes, fantastic opportunity to load up a quality company though into the portfolio.
The Bladey post, nothing. The posts that precede it are referring to Hotel Choc. I had expected more of a bounce back in the SP after the dip following the trading update last Tuesday. Hopefully the SP will recover this coming week. Prospect of a further interest rise on 4 August worrying though.
What as these post got to do with hotel chocolate nothing
Yanks would never let a peace process start without THEM leading it.. The yanks are fuelling the war. Funnily enough the "Russians", supported a military missile attack on the Ukranian port, just after signing of the deal... That was funny eh! I would not be surprised if there were American fingerprints all over those Russian missiles... Naaah, they're not that stupid, they would've wiped them down at least.
Was thinking about it more from an input costs perspective. Ie margin positive.
I don’t think this will lead to a ceasefire as Russia (Lavrov) has stated that it has increased its objectives and they aren’t going to give up Donbas and Crimea. The grain deal agreement has been signed by Russia so that it doesn’t alienate its partners in the developing world particularly in those countries where there could be starvation. However, I don’t expect the cost of living crisis to have that much impact on HCOC as it’s client base tends to be the more affluent part of the population who would rather pay more than settle for a cheaper and lower standard alternative.
To all retailers. End of cost of living crisis ? Seeds starting to be sown for full ceasefire?
Same. Normally, it's quite hard to get any shares here due to the low float. Even £200 can be hard to come by on some days, at least with my broker. This week, however, I've had pretty much all my limit orders filled.
