I suspect some shorters are smarting in the last few days and have disappeared lol
two weeks ago the sp was 39p now 55p what is going on?
all in all a good day,i expected a retracement of sorts.Could be in for some suprises over the coming months.Interesting times developing here
"I can do it on the back of an envelope.....most likely as Mathew Freud did!" Well I suspect he got one of those extra large Valentines card envelops to do his calculations! Yes that yield is tasty, long may it last. Hopefully the new bloke will grow earnings and profit into the company and grow into that yield to reduce the percentage level. A nice round number like 100p should do it. That cuts it to 3,5%
But analysts at Peel Hunt are more interested in what the exit of Lord Chadlington means. "We expect the market will start to speculate on the breakup of Huntsworth, post Lord Chadlington’s departure," says the broker. A 20% stake in Huntsworth taken by Chinese PR giant Blue Focus with whom the UK firm subsequently set up a joint venture in Asia certainly adds spice. So, too, does the 3% stake, now worth almost £5 million, acquired by canny investor Matthew Freud. Chairman Lord Myners is confident. He bought 100,000 shares at 46p each after Monday's news. Peel Hunt has placed its forecast and target price under review. "Once the speculation has faded the company will still face important structural issues," it says. It will indeed. Elsewhere, Numis Securities has cut forecasts for this year by 15%, and now expects adjusted pre-tax profit of £15 million, giving adjusted earnings per share of 4p. At 51p, Huntsworth shares trade on almost 13 times forward earnings, dropping to just over 11 in 2015. Numis still reckons the shares are "materially undervalued" and sticks with its 60p target price. There's that dividend, too. Huntsworth kept the interim payout at 1p and there's a prospective dividend yield of 7.4%. Quite what the new boss will think of that level of payout, however, remains to be seen.
Yes, and one article reported that the last time he shelved out so much doe on shares was when he bought some shares at 20p and sold a £2.00. Just imagine if HNT went to £4.00! Nothing is impossible. It is fair to say that the company has had bit of bad luck with the pound being so strong and the exchange rates not in their favour.......but that can change.......and presumably the chief executive will not be paid so much..........plus more increased revenues from the digital improvements and extra business from Asia.........and even an upturn in Europe.....it could all add up to an increase of profits of 20% by next spring.....and a share price of 80p+ I don't need to listen to all these useless brokers.......I can do it on the back of an envelope.....most likely as Mathew Freud did!
I found this which looks suspiciously like a Motley Fool article, its probably copied. I like the following:- What's more, it was recently revealed that respected PR executive, Matthew Freud had built up a 3% stake in Huntsworth. When quizzed about the stake, Mr Freud revealed: "I recognise a decent PR business when I see one". As I eluded too earlier, I suspect he knows a little bit more about PR than I do and has put skin on the table. I hope he is correct. Only time will tell https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/why-huntsworth-plc-shares-surged-090257601.html
Well I expect it to trickle down after the froth gets knocked off and the noise dies down. Then in time as the fundamentals get better and the market starts to kick back up things should improve. I will just collect the divis whilst I wait
Yes Gerry cant agree more Their are a lot of changes going on here and the chairman adding to his holding helps.Tomorrow will be telling though gl
Tom, after a profit warning and a trading update that was as clear as mud, I think this is a relief rally that things weren't going to hell in a hand cart.
Great stuff today, well worth the punt last Friday...
HNT come out with profits warning just under month ago ,today they are 20% up what is going on.
Sliced a few more at 15% profit, thank you kindly "Hunty", me old mucker... He's the king of the Swingers...
I don't know why they bother frankly,if I based my investment decisions on broker forecasts.......!!
Broker down graded to 60p not that means much
Good to see director buying into recovery here plus div maintained..GLA
Up 7.5p now, interesting, bid coming with the sp at such a low price?
It was never really spelt out who and how and what the benefits would be to Huntsworth. Did the company expect to get Chinese business? I guess Blue focus does not have the contacts or presence in the West that HNT has. With so much of the company's profits dependent on Europe, this seems to be the crucial factor, but why no new business yet from China? I would have hoped that they would have come up with something by now....... but nota hint of it! And what is Blue focus getting out of it? I hope the company survives long enough to see the benefit of 'chasing the Dragon'.......at least Mathew Freud seems to think so.
With EPS below the Divi its a good job they think things will improve. Hopefully the investments will pay off and my divi can "grow" although its pretty high so I dont really expect that too soon. As for the market reaction, its just that. It rose on the big buys last week or so too only to fall back. I suppose the trading update gives a bit more certainty but the joint venture needs to be moving rather than stalled. I suppose it gives the board a bit more time to get a grip of things and for improvements due to the current investment to start to filter in. I look forward to the end of Oct and collecting that divi
Reading between the lines I think on the whole the second half should improve and the all important divi held. The market seems to lie it anyway
Huntsworth like-for-like revenues fall First half revenues at global public relations and healthcare communications group Huntsworth fell to £83.1m - a like-for-like decline of 1.7% and a constant currency drop of 2.4%. Profit...
..........it's ALWAYS jam tomorrow..........or maybe.........next year.........or not at all
