Selling Treasurys to an entity with the promise of buying back at higher price the next day or so.
It's to create an illusion of liquidity where there is none.
Hence they have to keep printing go check out there balance sheet.
Economies are collapsing the only thing keeping the mrkts afloat is the money printing
Fact not theory
Everyone seems to know it apart from all you experts on here.
Anything's poss dbee poo still in trading range 75s being the banksmaths low so algos will sell if it drops.but if you factor in the buy backs plus the 65 million UT at 347 you have to think the ones that bought at 347 have an incentive to keep it up especially if there selling for pennies.

ATB ;-)
I’ll tell you in one word not one sentence.
Socialism.
But your pee sized brain can’t work out this is a socialist government you just sit infront of the BBC lapping up every word.
I’ll ask one more time Texan, for the 3rd time.
How are the government supporting buisness’s by anything they have done this last two years?
Jookie no one counters what you say because your arguments are vapid and vague.
You say things like '...if you don't know where this is going...'
Well, we don't know where this is going because no one can penetrate that troubled mind of yours. What is the issue Jookie? In one sentence please?
That's really bad for WT tax to stay above $70/bbl, cost of production in the North Sea is not exactly the cheapest in the world. Shows how out of touch the government is with reality, you don't press a button and get oil like a search engine.
"But one executive at the meeting with Sunak in Aberdeen said the chancellor “was lacking in answers to the main questions the industry had”.
Another person with knowledge of the meeting with the chancellor said: “He found himself on the receiving end of some rather robust feedback.
“The relationship between the Treasury and the oil and gas industry might be characterised as several layers of frost.”
Deirdre Michie, chief executive of the North Sea trade body Offshore Energies UK, described the meeting with Sunak as “candid” and warned the windfall tax would undermine attempts to attract investment to Britain."
When Sunak announced the energy profits levy, the Treasury described it as “temporary” and said it would “be phased out when oil and gas prices return to historically more normal levels”.
This month he indicated that a retreat in prices to a range of $60-$70 a barrel may be the trigger for the levy’s repeal. Brent crude was trading at $111 a barrel on Thursday. https://www.ft.com/content/a07e54ec-fa48-488b-81ef-566cf98e631a
LOL.
And you clowns still can’t work out where this is heading.
“Conspiracy theory!!!”
Reinvest billions and deplete your cash pile for when the demand collapse sets in and then still suffer a 65% tax even if the price drops as low as $60. And that’s still only a “maybe”.
And before you call it conspiracy theory and spew absolute drivel like Texan actually try back your argument up with evidence because I’ve shown plenty of times now of where this agenda is heading but no one has shown me any reason to think otherwise..
Me thinking BoD of HBR awaiting/hoping to get something out of consultation with Sunak on WT and for it to be passed in to law.
Once that is over and with a bit of tinkering on capex, they will come out with rns saying that actually the Levy won't affect much it at all the bottom line profit, going forward.
I will eat my hat if Sunak lowers the oil prices under $75
I still think the WT is not going to be too bad for HBR as the relief seems to provide for the opportunity to progress North Sea development with a potential 30% tax saving on the existing rate.
The August investor presentation suggested plenty of scope to develop the J area and Beryl. Then there’s east Tolmount to consider. All these projects just need to be brought forward to benefit from the tax rebate and may end up being beneficial to the bottom line. I guess HBr are still trying to work out how to rejig all the projects to get the maximum from the rebate but we should know more by results time.
yes levy on profits I assume. but the idea is to tax oilies that are making vast profits off the high oil price. but Harbour has sold oil at the lower hedged price.
Harbour should be exempted as their oil output has been hedged at crap prices. heres hoping.
Is this a joke, we have no chance of getting back over £5

you might be right jefff. technicals showing range contraction. this often leads to range expansion. bounce up or down though.. I don't see 330s unless oil price drops more.
