Happy hold for me glad of another share buy back at this price lvl if we drop back to low 60s again I’ll add a few more.
Well flip me….down 2.75%
What I am missing here?
Results look great but a little disappointed that they are still not paying a divi. but can live with that if the P goes back up to £1.50
Results look stellar. No doubt they will tank:) Topping up if so.
Hmm well I doubled my holding here after first purchase in low 60s then again after Morgan Stanley raised there holding again low 60s.For me food businesses mostly doing good job passing on inflation apart from Hilton foods.I like gnc as don’t think there is huge competition and convenience food still growing area single and couples cheaper just bang few micro meals in microwave and something on the side.I work in food manufacturing producing biscuits and it’s never been so busy for the last few years all ways running overtime to keep up.
I have decide to leave GNC and make use of losses to set against CGT. Should i wait until after next Tuesday or go now. has
anyone any thoughts on next weeks results.
Has turned into a real dog. Something must be known, as at this level you would expect some recovery
Shocking sp I can remember a time whe these touched £4 many many years ago. Let's hope the tide turns soon
Too quiet on the forecasting of future business, a bit worrying. A new direction is going to be needed.
and year end numbers look really good to me, ok they will be slightly lower than they were looking for due to rail strikes etc but they will impacked on many / most companies.
Once the country gets back to normal ish then there is no reason why the SP shpouldn't be back around the £1.70 mark in 6 months. Well one can hope. but still a great set of results.
On 24 May 2022, the Company announced its intention to recommence value return of up to £50 million over the following two years, initially in the form of the £10 million share buyback programme and consistent with the Group's capital management policy. ( A further update on value return will be made in due course.)
I like this bit so does than mean a divi of 10p ish coming soon?
Nearly 9m traded so far today.
Gregg's is up lots today
So the company has so far bought back over 10m shares, probably quite a few more days before they have spent the £10m. They started on 26 July at 105p, probably go below 70p today after Nikes results last night. That's some return of value to shareholders! Saying that they are currently buying back at the rate of over 1% of share capital a month, if they carry this on it should make a difference at some point.
The CFO has also been the Group Company Secretary since 12 September, don't know why the previous one left, but I'm guessing its saving money.
Year end today.
Gary fancied a few
Its blue amongst a sea of red. Big volume so far today, find out tomorrow whether its the buybacks keeping the SP at 80p or another buyer. 300k buybacks yesterday
SP lower than lockdown with buy backs and return to normal. Couldn't make it up!
I see buybacks were 350k yesterday. At least the company thinks they are good value at 80p!
Sorry tired on a Friday, I just meant demoted from FTSE 250
My take on it and it maybe wishful thinking, is that the share price has def been held back a bit in recent weeks (most likely due to some large funds not allowing FTSE350 companies) which this becomes on Tuesday. I actually believe that in there Final results later in the year it’s been a good year (inflation/energy and fuel costs aside), weather has been good and manny plenty of people out and about. The buyback is still continuing so hopefully the movement will be better in future weeks.
I hope I am right. GLA
Circulating the drain at this stage. Buy out seems its only hope.
Looks to me as though the SP is being held down around this level as long as possible so GNC can buy their 10m share buy back, well now 7m so far so it won't be long then they will let the SP rip to £1.20 + again. I hope.
Yeah, well those buybacks are sure working well for GNC. As I suggested a month ago, it's a waste of time and valuable resources as most companies who indulge in this practice tend to find out in the end when they are much poorer.
I see that they have increased the pace of buybacks, they did 240k on Friday. At least they see good value at 85p!
Looks like we have been demoted from FTSE250, takes effect Mon 19 Sept
Stay brave troops
