I've seen enough examples in AIM stocks where the directors make huge mistakes. Eg KETL, WJG spring to mind. Here, a director bought 60.000 shares at 177 in January costing £106,000 and currently showing a 17% loss. More notable for me is that he hasn't been too keen to top up at these levels.

There's also the possibility that should FNX continue to thrive, but the sp continues to malinger. the directors will get fed-up and at some point they either take FNX private, or they're bought out by private equity at a ridiculous knockdown price. I've seen that happen a few times with AIM stocks.

I'll be surprised if there isn't bad news on the way. Maybe not immediately, but I'm expecting some profit warning within the next 12 months. We've seen this sort of thing so many times with AIM stocks - everything seems rosy, and then a few months later they suddenly announce it ain't so rosy after all.

Yes. That site and this one -tinyurldotcom/9t6tejfw both reckon there's considerable upside for HFG. I'll wait until the price gets down to about 490 before increasing my holding, though.

Yes. A relatively small fine £169,000 + interest, which is a relief, as I was expecting a much higher fine.

On a side note, shorts are now down to just over 2% on May 4th. They were showing at 3.78% the week before. Did some of these shorters get wind of this decision before it was announced. It just seems a suspicious coincidence to me.

Er no. They are not a screaming buy. They are still overpriced at PER (currently 15.7 for a company with huge net borrowings, a paltry dividend yield, which was stuck at 6c for years (now 7c -2026 ), and interest charges (2025 @ $68m) likely to rise when interest rates increase sometime in the summer. Much better value elsewhere.

Notable drop in shorts now, down to 3.68% during the last week. So some of the shorters are finally giving up at last.

Just had a look at the shorters position on this. They must be losing a packet on PAY as well as burdened with heavy margin calls, as many took positions when the sp was well below 500 and most are still hanging on. It's not often you see a situation like this, so wondering whether the actual shorters position has been accurately updated, as I suspect this recent surge is partly down to shorters closing their positions.

The near term outlook looks challenging for most companies, HFG being no exception. They've been through good and bad times over the decades and survived. Will probably survive through this current crisis unless Armageddon awaits us all.

You would have had to have been extremely lucky to buy them at that price, as that wa the lowest price they just happened to close at in 5 years, and very briefly.

You should have followed. your own advice, Halliwell. First instinct more often than not is the right one.

I've followed ST for a few years, and nearly every time he tips a share it falls, often by over 50% in a year. Now he's tipped a share I hold and since that article it's already fallen 6% in a week. I'm not going to sell as I bought FNX a few days before reading his tip, and believe it's good value but unfortunately value shares have generally been trashed since covid. But the div @ currently 5.6% (my price) looks sustainable and should grow if recent past performance can be maintained. FNX is an income play if nothing else.

Yes. Switched my ISA to AJB a month ago after deciding that HGR's new fee structure is too expensive, despite their £5 cut in the dealing fee. Considering their much higher admin charge you'd have to be a frequent trader to make it worthwhile staying. Although I have to say the 2.5 years I've been with HGR, I found their customer service to be good, and always liked their online platform, which is easy to use. Had they kept charges the same I'd have stayed.

Shorters have been busy loading up over the last few week, despite the sp rising strongly over the same period. Now over 5% of the shares (only 3.8% mid Jan). They seem very confident this is going to end badly.

Sold 1/3 of my holding today. Done well in this share. It looks like £5 is a sticky barrier for now. Yesterday was a minor correction, (there have been 3 in the past year).but Wall St has surged today to new levels. How much longer Wall St can maintain its highly-inflated levels is unknown, but when the correction comes it will be sudden and severe as investors panic to get out. Happy to reduce my position as I think we've seen most of the rise in BARC anyway.
