wonder just how much more? I guess we will know that after he publish his accounts which are now overdue!!
My view entirely. Ashley has a minority shareholding he needs more shares to control the company otherwise what is the point of him being involved.all shareholders have to do is hold out he is bound to try offering a bit more.No doubt institutions will give in and sell.
Game's management is eating out of Big Mike's hand. And they better do to keep their jobs safe. Still the offer is 10% below net cash and cash generated from operations was £7mm last year . No vote from me on this deal...

Im incredulous if the performance criteria have been waived.
Game Digital has hardly been a success but, if like Director Gibbs, you have Nil Cost options the, hey, things are OK. What a wonderful world these directors inhabit: 1.5m nil-costs @ £0.00 = £0.00 & accept offer immediately @ £0.30 = £450,000 = PROFIT £450,000. Nice job if you can get it !

This guy has been at Game for such a long time, I don't know how many times he has seen it go bust. SP is near rock bottom as the cycle repeats itself again.
I'm concerned that he and the BoD will somehow convince some large shareholders to hold out and SD will pull the pin putting the SP back into the low 20s.
Belong is behind schedule and moving too slow in this market. It has not proven its business model and is being overtaken by other gaming concepts. Despite having 'Digital' in its name there is very little Digital about it. I'm out after a couple of years in here, prospects are slim and SD is a white knight in my eyes. Lucky to sell most on the last big spike and get out with a gain on this one. Could have been worse. GLA

Ashley only has 38% of Game. If he wants to control the co he needs more . If shareholders refuse to sell at 30p surely he must increase the offer?
The offer represents a 27% premium to the previously recently manipulated down price of 23p.
Will the board try to rebuff his offer, will the American hedge funds try to swipe this one from him like they did with Debs ?
I won’t vote for the offer. It’s low ball considering the cash reserves of he the business and cash generation of its operations.

GAME notes the announcement by Sports Direct International plc ("Sports Direct") of a mandatory cash offer for the Group, at a price of 30 pence per GAME ordinary share of £0.01, in accordance with Rule 9 of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers (the "Code") (the "Mandatory Offer"). This follows Sports Direct's acquisition of an 8.60 per cent. shareholding in the Group, which takes the interest of Sports Direct in the shares of the Group to approximately 38.49 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Group.
That's the thing with gmd, i've always hung on because it always should be worth a lot more than the current share price but it never takes off as the market thinks its gonna get wiped out by online at some point.
Offer is too low deffo.
I believe GMD has cash of well over 40p per share.

Glad you sold? When? its been below 30 for a while - you'd have to have sold before July last year to have done better than the offer.
Glad I sold
There's no pressure for sports direct to take this out in my opinion
Discless version launched today. Will Netflix/Spotify for games send Game the way of Blockbusters/HMV ?

Must be nice to buy chunks of your favourite high street stores rather than tiny stakes!
must be something going on. don't usually rise like this on no news. can't be a single pi doing this rise.
Mike Ashley's campaign to grow his vast retail empire is an interesting story.

Was for me draft - about until just before 10 am. Which was strange.
was not nt for me.
If the buyer has been Sports Direct then they are above 30% unless theyve been obtained through a CFD
funny we are all thinking the same thing. Hopefully MA is too.
Certainly showing signs of interest, last few weeks has seen a seller being matched on the BID with a buyer.
Buyer Sports Direct ??????
