That's not what that article discusses and there is nothing on Rudaw on X which would be the first place it would break. Do you have an English translation?
****erel - i used google translate and yes that is what it says. the last paragraph states :
on 04-04-2023, in the presence of iraqi prime minister mohammed shia sudani and kurdistan regional government (krg) prime minister masrour barzani in baghdad, an agreement was signed to resume oil exports from the kurdistan region, but after nearly 14 months has not yet resumed.
i can’t attest to the validity of it as we have had a lot of false dawns but the fact that it mentions 14 months since closure it has been written now.
pray explain how you think it doesn’t discuss this and yet asking me for a translation.
On the 4th of April 2023, twenty twentyTHREE I.e. last year.
'on 04-04-2023' Wally!
😂 theory man - my point is that the UN ambassador can’t have been talking about that agreement as it was 14 months ago and this article on rudaw has been written today and mentions that pipeline closed for 14 months.
So must be talking about a new agreement. Hopefully we will get some news soon either way
The first paragraph is relevant which was written about 3 hours ago: "Iraqi envoy to the United Nations said that Erbil and Baghdad have reached an agreement to resume oil exports. They have reached a basic agreement to continue sending salaries to the Kurdistan Regional Government."
The last paragraph refers to what happened previously.
Using Google translator, the article title is written:
"Iraqi envoy to the UN: Erbil and Baghdad have reached an agreement to re-export oil"
The article was apparently written "2 hours ago" (currently 10:16 UK time).
Second half of the article seems to rehash some of the history of the closure. The protein (if that is what it is) can be found in the first three paragraphs (translated):
___
"Iraqi envoy to the United Nations said that Erbil and Baghdad have reached an agreement to resume oil exports. They have reached a basic agreement to continue sending salaries to the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Iraqi Permanent Representative to the United Nations Abbas Kazem made the remarks at a Security Council meeting on the situation in Iraq.
"The two governments are working to continue to stabilize their relations in all areas, especially the issue of budget and salaries of employees, pensioners, Peshmerga and security forces of the Kurdistan Region," Kazim said"
___
Poor journalism IMO, as no dates/times were given. My instinct was to check the time in NY if this was 2 hours ago... but I am not familiar with security council meetings being held at 5am EST...
However, I am really encouraged by the following (if true):
1. Abbas Kazem, Iraq's international diplomat mentions this
2. This is apparently mentioned int he context of the United Nations SC forum... (why mention it there?)
3. This is more positive noise against a backdrop of increased diplomatic activity (i.e. US-Iraq diplomat visits to push this over the line).
On the negative side (for balance/devil's advocate), I would have hoped that AKIPUR' Caggins would have reported greater involvement in the process more recently (rather than ..paraphrasing here.. "we stand ready to be invited to get involved in discussions"...).
IMO, GKP's future is looking positive. The year-long dip has been a God-send opportunity for me to bring my average cost per share down from 2.50 (post restructure) to 1.13. I went from holding 600 to 30,000 of these things... very happy to wait and see how this plays out.
I seem to remember that there's been at least one other 'deal done' announcement from within the UN, it makes sense to wait on an official statement, there are people on here very willing to shoot the messenger through 👀
Simple rule of thumb is, if its isn't breaking all over Twitter/X it isn't happening, because it would be so 500x plus the time the said journalist took to write that article.
@kheldar, one translation refers to it being contained in a seasonal report, I.e. a summary of events over a given time period.
It contains a reference to something happening recently I.e. the salary flow and something from the past I.e. the signing of the agreement.
IMO, they are two separate events and linking them in any way, shape or form is stretching things.
The quality of the journalism on their Sirani site is generally very poor.
@theoryman - no problem with that. I do find though articles appear on rudaw.net first before they move to the rudaw English website Just seen a message on advfn that says this guy did update the UN last night. However , can’t find anything on the UN site as to what he discussed 😂

rudaw.net still have this article as the second article in their website business section so I think there must be something to it (https://www.rudaw.net/sorani/business)
Imo the meetings between erbil and the oil minister which have been ongoing since Tuesday will be the real catalyst for the share price.
Atb as usual dyor
I’m pretty sure the share prise would react upwards before any concrete news was announced to the plebs.
