Funnily enough I received a phone call yesterday from a financial company to which I had sent an online enquiry. (Portuguese taxation is a little different from UK in that they do not 'recognise' the status of tax free isas for example. I need more advice).
He explained that his company helped people to invest in a spread of investments. What investments did I have at present?
"All in one company mate, both the isa and the pension. A gold explorer"
I could sense him wilting on the other end of the phone as an embarrassing silence set in. It was almost as if I'd told him I'd put the whole lot on a roulette wheel. Poor chap. Eventually, he made an excuse and left.
@hydro
I broke my rule. Mine is 10% of equity holdings in a single share. We're now at 18% (combined, my wife's and mine). I know some people think I'm overcautious and they are probably correct. But then, we worked for that money.
I can't imagine breaching 30%, but I have adjusted my strategy. Not just here but in two other shares, too. The buying opportunities after the Covid crash were just too good to ignore.
So, I'd say don't be afraid to tweak your strategy, in my view. But maybe don't completely blow it away, either. And especially be careful if we're talking money you can't afford to lose, or that it would be really, really painful to lose. It's one thing to breach your strategy with money that is in the "it would be nice" category, quite another with money that, "Man, if that goes wrong, it's really, really going to hurt really badly." Once you get to those levels, be careful.
All very much IMO. GL.
Hydro - if you ask advisers , they will always tell you what they think you should not do. NO pro adviser has ever told any one togo in100%
Stay with your adviser who will tell you to spread the load and in times like these , you lose half your pension fund.
Ask me and I will tell you to fo llow your nose
Tig
Hydrogen , from the horses mouth. “ this is only the beginning “ great times ahead here imo
Definitely not anxious here. Just sitting, holding and waiting for the next steep rise up.
Aviz,
I don't think anyone who uses this bb is going to get anxious about the share price and sell this week. Everyone here has their eye on next weeks results (and of course the do at the Stag). They will not be selling and I certainly won't. I'm full of eager anticipation about the drill results on the 23rd and I don't think I'm the only one.
They did read my post! UT at 12.30p.
Totally agree the false bid/ask is Created by MM’s putting through small trades well below the actual bid and well above the ask creating a false spread. The larger trades going through are accurate as these are real trades. No worries just tells me they want accumulate shares for next week.
Look at today's trades. Look at those under £10. This is not investor territory...these trades are MM's depending upon whether they have stock to sell or want to buy.... dragging the price up or down to suit their own ends. Be aware. Love GGP and GH. Let the results speak for themselves. But post only relevant research....nothing else. Don't let them see any anxiety levels. IMHO
With late 1/2 million seller back they are likely to take it down a little ready for the Friday shake.
May be buying opportunitytomorrow then lets hope it starts getting near to where it should be towards the news.
I'm so relaxed... I'm so chilled that my feet are freezing. (I hope the MM's read this.)
*strong personnel
The volume is extremely low today as people hold onto their shares for other results. For me the camp going from 90 to 250 string personnel is enough to give me confidence to hold here...nothing more needed. ATB
Your could well imagine a scenario where MM's are watching these boards like hawks. The more posts indicate higher levels of anxiety. That gives them insight into your fears and anxieties......perhaps not express.....but simply that you are watching this every minute of every day. That in itself indicates anxiety. They can play on that. Please everyone....stop posting......stop letting the MM's know your thinking and see the difference next week. Best way to beat MM's is to switch of for at least 14 days. Stop watching!
Beefing up on the bid
There is a difference between creating a market....and manipulating a market. Wide spread creates greater profits for MM's when clearly this share is very liquid. Over to you CMA.
Lots of tiny trades...MM's trying to suppress the SP. Just make it more volatile ...............upwards next week. See you next week boys!
many
