That seems a little desperate to me!
Interesting BigAl,
People - as in plural, more than 1, well spotted. They must have initial orders in the pipeline if they are hiring additional sales people. For me this has made my day and is an excellent sign.

The description of a standard business developer being a salesmen suggests to me they have yet to win contracts in europe or middle east and their current sales team is focussing elsewhere.
google says:
A Business Developer is responsible for the growth of a company and the acquisition of new customers or clients.
Responsibilities
The main responsibility of a Business Developer is to pinpoint growth drivers that will help a business grow. This most often translates into assessing new markets for the purposes of prospecting. By analyzing the issues facing potential clients, a Business Developer tries to attract them, which in turn creates long-term value. A Business Developer achieves this goal by setting up meetings where they can pitch a service or product to prospects, before providing a sales proposal in the hopes of getting a contract signed. While Business Developers are often in charge of a specific sector, enabling them to find and contact relevant prospects and key players, they must also watch out for other growth opportunities, such as communications opportunities or partnerships.
Close monitoring is thus indispensable to Business Developers because they must find and offer growth solutions that go beyond mere client acquisition.
“It’s my responsibility to go out and find new clients. You are in charge of a sector that needs to be developed in response to the issues your clients are facing.”

Career path
While the traditional path of a Business Developer involves a Master’s degree from a business school, there are other roads that lead to taking up these responsibilities. An educational background in marketing, entrepreneurship, or even engineering can be very valuable in this job.

Skills
Closely connected to business strategy, a Business Developer must be a talented negotiator because he or she will be in contact with many potential clients. He or she must also be able to adapt to a wide variety of relevant parties to build a rapport quickly. To excel in this profession, you must demonstrate patience, empathy, and versatility so as not to put pressure on potential clients.
“The challenge of my profession is having perseverance and resilience. Every month, your targets are reset.”
Collaborative relationships
Since a Business Developer acts as a bridge between prospects and the company, once a contract or agreement has been signed, he or she often hands over the “key” to the relationship – their client tracking information – to the client experience team or an Account Manager.
Business Developers also work closely with support services, such as marketing and IT. Being so close to the issues that prospects face means information can be gleaned to capitalize on potential growth opportunities, such as communications partnerships and potential product improvements.
might apply for the job myself!! lol.

Who did you hear that from Bruno?
A sign that the distributors can’t sell it so now trying to employ someone to shift it piecemeal. Profits will be follow … not
If this were a "do or die" appointment I'd assume it would be on a contract basis to avoid the O/H.
As its not, I see it as an extension to the sales team and thus a positive. Provided it's a legitimate position of course.
Specific to the POC and not other products would imply its a growth position for the company.
Let's see, maybe they just realised that no matter how good a product is it won't sell itself.
GDR been very active in Europe and gaining lot of attention. Middle East looks to be an expansion market, so is India and off course USA.
Also an update on Beckman Coulter distribution deal would be good soon.
CTDA approval update also due soon. May be someone got a sniff here looking at sudden burst of activity on Friday.
Potential Commercial partners would also be watching CTDA approval having already tested GDR latest test kit that can detect all variants.
I wouldn’t want to have additional wages if there was no need for them…. Possibly BOD wanted to see certs and interest before thinking ok now we can start to push on these avenues ?
Just everything crossed now that he pulls something out of anything!

Logically it'd suggest so, no one recruits extra hands unless the existing are already occupied, we'll see
@lloyd you and I know that they recruited a team already end of last year, post says to join a team, this appears to be additional post(s)
Maybe they are busy in Europe, a lot of things happening over there
Hopefully we will find out shortly
Agree mate. Let's hope its because they are so busy they need an extra pair of hands.
I live in hope. lol
Dave my question with all these jobs they are advertising is why has it taken so long to do this? If I was him these people would have been in place before certification, it will be months before they settle into these roles
Hope so. Either so busy they need help or they haven't sold a bean yet.
I couldn't find GDR on the attendee list at Medlabs Dubai next week.
Seems if they are targeting that region they really should attend.
Hopefully something brewing over there Dave
