This share was recommended by The Times at the beginning of the year, as one to follow as the need was/is/will be to build more new homes. Now that the lockdown is easing, it seems likely that the house builders will move apace as soon as they can. This should hugely benefit this company. Keep the faith!
Yes I would agree that this is a good play between about £1.95 through to £2.15 and if you get lucky you should see £2.20 or even £2.25 in a short period of time .......
Share price does lurch around a bit though .... it sits quiet and then suddenly lurches up or down for no obvious reason!

it's an interesting 10% play from here to 220?
I bought in with a few shares last week as I think this is undervalued and hasn't moved with the recent market rallies ....
Anyone else invested here ...... can't believe how few shares are traded on a daily basis .... also noticed the share price makes wild movements for no obvious reasons ......
Thoughts?

still trades at hefty premium to tnw
(& much higher premium rel to peers)
I see Forterra as a very solid business. Getting the housing sector going again will be a government priority, house purchase stamp duty holiday for a bout a year is expected to be announced shortly. Forterra has a strong operating margin and great ROCE. Extra production capacity from next year, which will be needed. The housing sector must rebound strongly, otherwise there will be no wider recovery and no big Conservative majority at the next election.
FORT seems to have got off very lightly given the PBT guidance has been reduced to about 10% below analyst consensus. I put orders in at 240p & 225p, hoping to catch any spike down. Clearly I was being over ambitious.
Good week. Still plenty of upside to come.
All good news here.
Forterra still a buy with IC...GLA
I was concerned by the falling sp until I read that Woodford has been offloading shares here and elsewhere due to withdrawals from his fund and not due to problems with Forterra. News of construction activity will hopefully feed thru to a rising SP....GLA
Absolutely agree. Feel bad for those who got in earlier following IC article. But this will return to those levels and beyond, and with decent dividend will prove to be a strong performer and LTH. GLA.
Indeed a mystery... but very welcome nonetheless! I’d like to know exactly when the kiln overheated, how long have they been sitting on this price sensitive information? I think the marginal correction in profits has been more than reflected in the SP fall over the last few months and this is a great entry price.
Woodford now down to < 5%. I topped up today.
One massive sell yesterday... 16+M shares... found the bottom of this slippery slope, or hang out for more bargains???
Price pressure is because Woodford has sold his stake down from 20% to 11.7%. For me an opportunity to top up at a reasonable price. Long term hold.
Definitely frustrating, but I'm now in at this level. Increasing revenues and profit, decreasing debt, and especially encouraging is the P/PTE ratio which is about 8.5... We need houses, ergo we need bricks.
Any ideas on the time scale for getting planning fro the new brick facility at Desford? In time (by 2022) they will be looking to double capacity. Didn't read the IC article but this is beginning to look good value and one for the SIPP.
Huge volume
If brokers opinions do anything for you Numis have upgraded their target to 365p....I am still optimistic myself so GLA
I think the weather has been a factor earlier in the year and that activity will have picked up subsequently which will hopefully be reflected in the sp soo ..GLA
Positive review in Investors Chrionicle saying Forterra undervalued and construction activity is has increased significantly in latest sector index. GLA
Could it be the investment in extra capacity is taking some digesting? I like this company and think it will continue a general upward trend but even I was wondering if this investment could not have been planned earlier as the expected increase in construction is coming now not in a few years time. Maybe it wasn't possible to raise the finance until now...either way I think this is a keeper GLA
Plans to more than double output and lower costs with new production facility coming on stream by 2021 announced....GLA
Hope Woodford doesn't jinx this share! Only joking - this is a different animal to a risky start-up pharma company. With construction sites beavering away in spring/summer should see some good progress...GLA
